What do you do for a living to qualify as a tinnitus expert? My tinnitus resulted from ear wax being spooned from my ears….creating a type of sound trauma (the pitch being heard within a narrow band during the process) does that mean it might resolve itself over time?

Not all tinnitus is the same. I have had it for many years, and no changes in diet, exercise, headphones, monitoring, etc... gets rid of it. Maybe when I retire!? Thankfully, it is just a bit of white noise, nothing piercing or grating. It doesn't affect my ability to perform, and, when mixing, I can compensate for it by a) watching visual EQ curves AND by b) getting a second pair of ears to listen to the mix.
Ignoring it MAY NOT BE the solution, though... it really depends on how you got it, and what it's doing to you. I am glad you qualified your comments by saying that a) this is your particular experience, and b) you are not a doctor.

@@RapidFlow_Shop it’s probably good advice because it’s exactly what happened to me. I had a major tinnitus scare and thankfully 3-6 months later it had reduced itself to maybe a 1/10. It was there but it wasn’t. I never paid any attention to it. Fast forward 3 years later and I’m in an ER for an unrelated illness .. I let the doctors know I had tinnitus … and an incompetent doctor there ordered gentamicin to be put into my IV. Probably the most ototoxic antibiotic there is. By that night … I was half deaf in each each and my tinnitus had now become debilitating. It’s been 5 years at this point with no change. So I was given my warning shot but didn’t pay attention what was being put in my body and I paid the price. I share my story because I don’t want to see it happen to anyone else. It’s hell on earth. Hey sorry to hear you are suffering from ongoing tinnitus. If I may give my opinion, I would be extremely careful labelling myself as chronic anything. I think it potentially inhibits the bodies's capacity to heal, and there is such a thing as the placebo effect which clearly demonstrates that our belief is involved in healing. As much as I hear you and can imagine how horrible the situation you are in must be, I would try to put my faith in my body and minds ability to heal or rewire itself to move away from the tinnitus. I know it sounds unorthodox, but in essence this is what helped me and I think I didn't make this point clearly enough in the video. Hope you feel better!

Hey, i am suffering from this problem for a month now. I lost my father, due to which i m in depression and anxiety. Also my surroundings are very annoying.
I am taking homeopathy treatment for this, i am also suffering with huge pressure in my head and vertigo.
Homeopathy is really effective with no side effects.
Also please note elevated levels of Anti TPO can also cause tinnitus and vertigo. My anti tpo range is 1300+. It should be less then 60.
Cough and cold too contributes towards this problem. I am facing phlegm mucus sinus from last 30 years, and now after my dad's loss, this new challenge. Really fed up of living.
But my advice to all of you guys is be positive and go for homeopathy treatment. You ll be healed permanently!!
May God showers his mercy upon all of us....

I think earphones could make it worse yes... When I have stressed my ears and I feel they are not happy I make sure not to use earphones or listen to.anything loud. Sleeping my suggestions. One… establish a regular routine for sleep…going to bed same time at night and getting up around the same time. Your body can learn to become tired and ready to sleep. Two…relax before bed however that might be. Generally listening to music (unless relaxing type) news or online activities should be stopped 1 to 2 hours before going to sleep. Light reading with a book is something that works for me. Third…..take melatonin and some other evening sleep aids if needed. Not talking about sleep medications but something like theanine, gaba, passion flower etc…some mix of non addictive herbs or even an antihistamine that helps promote sleepiness can be beneficial. If sleep is near impossible one can see a doctor for recommended short term meds while one adjusts to the tinnitus. fourth…..use sound and experiment with works best for you to sleep. Water sounds work for many like waves or rainfall. If tinnitus is loud have to experiment with the volume some individuals fully cover or mask the tinnitus with sound at night which works for some for others playing a louder sound than the tinnitus can also be distracting in which case you use sound to give your brain outside stimulation to listen to at a lower volume (not fully masking but a competing noise) so your mind can’t pay as much attention to the tinnitus.
