Justice for Edward and Henry!
EDWARD AND HENRY FOREVER
AY MATE!
One of my favorite comments from the old video:
“The cockroach from WALL-E had more emotion than Nia and Rebecca did”
Good point, whoever wrote that comment.
I also replied to that comment saying that I've watched WALL-E countless times and I agree with that 100%.
💀
I'd disagree tho on Rebecca's defense. I actually think she showed at least a distinct personality I like who sees the best in others and is disappointed on how she doesn't see the best in herself. I very much prefer Rebecca over Nia anyway at any day. I really think she had a good thing going on who actually had potential to be part of the team instead of just replacing the old members, in which case she actually reminds me of Emily because of it.
Nia or Edward?

Its sad how one guy can create a better idea for a movie than an entire company.
Forgot to add one thing. When Tug said they didn't market BWBA correctly, I agree. I live in America, and I thought the movie came out in 2020. The only reason I saw the movie was because I set all new episodes and specials to record, but after this, I stopped watching the show completely.
I can't believe how often this is true.
@@SirSamichI thought it came out in 2018
@@paradoxvexalit did but no one actually cared about it at launch because everyone grew out of it left after the last years movie and later on covid killed it too
One that isn’t even a proper writer, at that.
What's Sad Is... THEY HAD THE CHANCE FOR AN EXTRA SPOT AT TIDMOUTH. When James Crashed Into The Shed THEY COULD'VE REBUILT WITH AN 8TH SPOT.
Wait. It’s demolished you mean?
Yup just like what they did in calling all engines
@@xinguan2681 Not demolished, but the damage to the sheds was bad enough that they could've used it as an opportunity to expand its size. It'd also be a nice callback to Calling All Engines.

Poetic
As a woman, who was a girl growing up loving this show, I couldn’t understand why they would remove Edward and Henry for two new female characters that’s we never saw before!
Henry was my favourite! And my younger brothers was Edward.
But hey, don’t mind me, just an Australian complaining about changes on a childhood tv show.
I agree! And I’m American! However, my favorite character is Duck.
Instead of removing Henry & Edward they just should have added the two female characters
@@legofanadityaFr bro like just build some new sheds because James can destroy the sheds every season or something you rebuild them it ain’t that hard to build some more
Let’s be real - if Percy was female instead of male (but still have her be named Percy and have her look and sound identical to her male counterpart in every single way) then they would’ve been able to keep both Gordon and Henry. This is because Gordon and Henry would’ve been the 3rd and 4th boys instead of the 4th and 5th boys since Henry is way too popular just like Gordon. And I am SURE that they would’ve been able to keep Edward too if they could. The original plan in that alternate timeline would’ve been that Edward was originally never supposed to leave since he would’ve been the 5th boy instead of the 6th. But then the Nia mandate would’ve still happened and Edward would’ve been written off last minute unfortunately. However in the Unlucky Tug rewrite of bwba, Tug would’ve been able to keep Edward since he would’ve been the 5th boy instead of the 6th (and have Edward be a mentor father figure to Nia). There would still have been room for Edward since Thomas would be traveling the world.
@@mrp8008 No, Edward is way too important to be written out as a main since Edward is the reason why the railway series and the Thomas franchise exists. Plus you need a wise parental figure on the main cast. I understand that Edward is a hard character to write for since he rarely makes mistakes, but you can just have Edward be the main character that Percy and Emily interact with in the Hit era and Miller era just so you have Edward stay perfectly in character without struggling with him. You could also have Edward be the main character that Rosie interacts with in the Brenner era and have either 1 or 2 Edward and Rosie starring episodes per season. I believe that if Percy was female instead of male (but still have her be named Percy and have her look and sound identical to her male counterpart in every single way) then Edward would’ve had more starring episodes episodes in the classic series since Edward would’ve been the 5th boy instead of the 6th. You would basically just have Thomas, Percy And Old Slow Coach and Gordon And The Gremlin from Season 5, but Thomas swapped out with Edward and the episodes retitled as Edward, Percy, And Old Slow Coach and Edward And Gordon’s Gremlin Trouble. Also, you could have the dialogue being modified just a little bit so Edward can stay perfectly in character. In the brenner era Edward would’ve had more starring episodes since again he would’ve been the 5th male instead of the 6th. For instance in No more Mr. nice engine from season 17, the roles of Hiro and Edward would’ve been reversed and the episode would’ve instead had been titled Edward’s sticky spill. Gordon would’ve been swapped out with Spencer in the Season 18 episode, Old reliable Edward. The roles of Thomas and Edward would’ve been reversed in the season 19 episode, A Cranky Christmas. Thomas would’ve been swapped out with Edward in Rocky Rescue in the same season. If Emily didn’t become a main character and if Duck stayed as a main character throughout the Hit, Miller, and Brenner eras then Emily would’ve been swapped out with Edward in the season 21 episode, Dowager Hatt’s busy day and the episode, A shed for Edward would’ve instead had been titled A shed for Duck. So in conclusion, if Percy was female instead of male (but still have her be named Percy and have her look and sound identical to her male counterpart in every single way) then Edward would’ve been a more prominent main character in the classic series and would’ve had 14 starring episodes throughout seasons 1 through 7 instead of 12. Edward would’ve also had been a more prominent main character in the Brenner era and would’ve had 5 starring episodes instead of just 3. Edward would’ve had 6 starring episodes in the Brenner era if Emily never became a main character season 8 onwards. So this genuinely makes me wish that Percy was female instead of male (but still have her be named Percy and have her look and sound identical to her male counterpart in every single way) because it would’ve provided the railway series and the tv series with another female character and it would’ve benefited the other main characters A LOT in the long run, especially Henry and Edward. So yeah in short, Edward should not have been written off, because he’s way too important and he’s a keystone character. Henry should not have been written off because he’s way too popular just like Gordon and way too important just like Edward and Gordon. I also firmly believe that Percy should’ve been female instead of male (but still have her be named Percy and have her look and sound identical to her male counterpart in every single way)

@@Nic_2751yeah but still. It may be a way to insinuate ptsd within Thomas from ever traveling again, or at least for awhile
What I find funny about Mattel trying to push gender equality is that Mavis a rather consistently appearing character in the show disappeared after two appearances in the BWBA era a cameo in the movie and in one song.
Daisy, Marion and Millie also got shafted from major roles due to the reboot.
@@garrettsmith2776 Good point

This is the video where Tug reinvented himself...for the better. I think it's a wise decision on your part to make this video and everything following it the content for your new channel.
As for this era, I cannot believe we are approaching FIVE years since this era became a thing. And guess what? It's aged poorly, and everything you said in this video still holds true, three and a half years after you made it. I cannot bring myself to watch any of this era, and for good reason.

I think Mattel tried to cancel The Unlucky Tug.
But Henry is too popular and well known to be written off and it baffles me that they got rid of him. I’m just gonna say this right now, if Percy was female instead of male, then they would’ve be able to keep both Gordon and Henry since Gordon and Henry would be the 3rd and 4th boys instead of the 4th and 5th boys.
@@Woodenrailwayoliver20I’m ngl I feel like Percy would have been better as a female character idk if that makes any sense-
@@poppyteinor1163 It does make sense, Percy is a uni gender name short for both Perceval, Perseus (boy names) and Persephone (a girl name). Plus Percy has a uni gender appearance so Percy totally could have been female. Percy being female would have definitely had benefited the railway series and especially the tv series A LOT in the long run and since Edward would’ve been the 5th boy instead of the 6th then he would’ve been a lot less likely to get written off, would probably had more starring episodes, and probably would’ve gotten a lot more merchandise.
26:56 Making this worse: not only is Kenya a bilingual country where _everyone_ knows both Swahili and _English,_ they _already use the exact same numbers as LITERALLY EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD._ The only reason Nia doesn’t understand numbers is because she was written by middle-class suburban white guys who consider whole wheat bread _ethnic food._
If anyone did an Abridged series of _BWBA,_ I’d want it so the only thing Nia can say is “I’m from Africa!” in a generic upbeat tone. Doesn’t matter the situation. “I’m from Africa!:)” “I’m from Africa?:)” “I’mmmmm… from Africa!:)” “I’M FROM AFRICAAAAAA!!!:)”
Nia: Crashes
Also Nia: AIM FROHM AHFRICKAH
I would watch a Abridged BWBA Series
I imagine all the other trains would be like "we get it, are you okay?"
Maybe Nia has a disability where she struggles to read numbers
@@sophiebyers5496then how has she learned to count but not read shouldn’t the other engines in Kenya like teach her
The whole nia not understanding numbers doesn’t make sense, surely they would have like go slow signs, platform numbers and things like that in Kenya (I don’t actually know) so if I’m right what they’re basically saying is that because nia is Kenyan, she doesn’t know numbers
On the point of Nia, I agree with you 100 percent. When I first saw her design and heard she was a main character, my immediate thought was "Oh boy, here comes the inclusivity". I'm not against it in any way, but it's just so on the nose that it's borderline offensive. They were so worried about making her inclusive, they forgot how to make her exclusive. A wasted character with a flawed design by the writers.
This is the video that brought back Tug, and now it’s brought him back again. So poetic.

The majority of the BWBA era makes you forget why the Railway Series and the Classic Series are so brilliant.
Yep
At this point, it makes you wonder if this was by design.
Marks the end of the 20th century
Marks the end of the 20th century
Same goes for the entirety of AEG.
If it wasn't obvious, Mattel did what so many bad companies have done to their most popular properties: They look at competing franchises, see how much better they're doing in revenue, and instead of improving their own product distribution, they try to copy the popular thing and obscure what they have beyond recognition, destroying the core identity and alienating the original audience in favor of mass appeal, for the sake of blending into the crowd.
They may excuse it by shoving in modern social politics for press coverage, often succeeding because a lot of people nowadays are so emotionally insecure that they partake in obnoxious moral policing for self-validation. It's basically exploitation of human nature.
In extreme cases, (See Halo 4/5/Infinite, Netflix Cowboy Bebop, or the Star Wars sequels) they hire people who actively HATE the series they're assigned with, and turn it into their own incompetently conceived story. The "I hate this series and I'm gonna fix it now that I'm in charge" Hollywood mindset. It's a cancer to the industry, never works, and just pisses everyone off.
Same with Animaniacs 2020. The creators hated the original show.

idea: rebecca helping gordon only makes him more insecure, it only comes later, after a talk with henry and a heart to heart with rebecca, that gordon accepts her
If I had to write out Edward I think I'd actually take a bittersweet approach.
Gordon's pulling a heavy express train of enthusiasts during a busy time of year, breaks down, Edward comes to the rescue to pull both Gordon and the train.
He gets them home safely but damaged himself severely, happy he was able to help his friend one last time Edward retires and allows himself to be preserved.
I'd also have the main cast be upset but understanding, followed by recreations of Edward's best moments.
Percy remembers Edward teaching him how to run the yard, James remembers being saved by Edward, Gordon remembers Edward pushing him up the hill, Henry remembers Edward helping him move the express after being let out of the tunnel.
What is the definition of preserved I googled and I still don’t get it is it when they’re like scrapped or-

Episodes where she underestimates her size and strength, someone taking advantage of her, her misunderstanding things. Something
I'm convinced BWBA could've been great if things had gone something like this:
Mattel greenlights BWBA in 2017, but they allow the production team to finish S21 completely and then gives them a whole year to think about how they want the soft reboot of Thomas going around the world to be like.
In the meantime, they use 2018 to get the rest of Seasons 20 & 21 released in the US via PBS Airings and DVD Sales. They also use that year to make sure the marketing for Thomas is as good as it can be in as many markets as possible, and even try to get it on certain streaming services.
Then in 2019, that is when the soft reboot is released and because it wasn't rushed, the end result is better and it doesn't fail because of the poor marketing.
I wish they made it so he goes all around England and revisits his brothers and everything
England would be the right place so start, despite the fact that it would make no sense for the E2s to still be around lol
@@therwsgeek683 what about Stepney
@@flowerfrombfdi That could work! Visiting the Bluebell Railway would also make sense for Topham because Stepney and his controller visited Sodor in the books.

38:55 July 2023 update: They adapted Super Rescue, though it wasn't even done by Mattel, it was done by the Union Pacific, and instead of Henry, they used Big Boy 4014.
Jokes aside, I am glad that this review is back, because it really shows what kind of a new low Thomas fell to. And I'm glad you did a video on it, and people can try to take you down, but you won't stop, so don't give up on reviewing Thomas eras, good or bad!
After watching the original review, I can agree with some of your opinions with Mia and Rebecca, Sure both of them were based on a real life locomotive classes, but they both really need more backstory and info for there character personalities, few flaws here and there, they would have a much better backstory and personalities for both Nia and Rebecca, they would also stay at laborers sheds so Henry and Edward would still stay at tidmouth sheds.
No wonder why some of the episodes between season 22-24 are really messed up.
If there’s any praise I have to sing for this era, it’s that by taking Thomas around the world, it reversed the precedent set by Magic Railroad and showed that Sodor could, in fact, be a real place in the world.
We could say that the entire planet exists in the separate bubble from reality Sodor was in. The Sodor universe was just the real world where Sodor existed and other things didn't. I don't hate either concept, and it's entirely up to you if you want to consider each cannon or not.

As sad as it is what happened to this show, at least it inspired a lot of great fan content by people taking something with potential and help realise it.
This video alone is evidence that Tug has improved over a 3 year period since his return. You can tell this is before his opinion changed on the Cars franchise.
When I first saw his Cars review, I was really surprised when he praised the way the cars are animated.
If you looked closely, when they say "FROM KENYA IN AFRICAAAA" at 26:38, they show the South African flag, not the Kenyan flag. They were so goddam lazy that they just googled "African flag" and didn't bother to double check

One thing's for sure, if I had to choose between Nia and Rebecca, I'd choose Rebecca. She simply reminds me of Emily who actually had a good potential to become part of the Steam Team as an addition, not as a replacement. Of all the new engines introduced, I actually really liked Rebecca and I very much prefer her over Nia any day. I just wished her introduction was done more properly and the series continued onwards to give way for her Character Development as we get to know more about her personalities. Nia is simply a bizarre character to be simply thrown out there and expect to be accepted by everyone, at least Rebecca is much more likeable who had at least some good character traits and even looks promising with her model which looks like an actual train that could be very well be a part of the Steam Group, unlike Nia who's only Trait being, she's from Kenya.
I always like a good “what if this was done right” discussion.
The first couple of times I saw this, when I got to the point where he said he wasn’t going to write Henry out of the main shed, I thought, “hey that’s cheating!” Specifically, I was thinking with this arrangement, Rebecca is staying in Edward’s shed, but where is Nia going to stay if Henry doesn’t leave?
But then I realized recently, “Oh, right! The idea is that Nia is staying in Thomas’s shed while Thomas is traveling the world!”
😅
“I get it now!”
Clearly, Mattel is trying to silence him for having better ideas than them
0:57 The last thing we all expected was a reboot
I said this on the original upload of this video but I'll say it again, They really messed up on Nia when they made her having culture shock in understanding English numbers cause here's the thing in Kenya english is the second most spoken language so Nia having trouble with english numbers does not make any sense it really shows nobody did any research when creating her.
A sort of "International" episode they could've done was send Thomas or some other characters like Skarloey and Rheneas to Wales where they could visit the Talyllyn railway. I personally think that would've been an episode i would actually take interest in watching. Plus, we could've saw the TTTE versions of Talyllyn and Dolgoch and the others.

I remember replaying that Edward scene when I watched "Steam Team to the Rescue" Because I need my daily dose of Edward.
There are so many things about BWBA that I hate, such as Thomas going around the world for no reason, and my favorite characters being way out of character, and when Edward and Henry were written off, just so they could have a gender balance?!
Thomas is pretty popular because of me in central Africa, I lived there as a little kid, and my grandma sent a bunch of Thomas toys over to central Africa were I was staying, and they’re still there to this day. So, BWBA Is Pointless. And it was already popular in China, Italy and Brazil. Australia too! THEY SHOULD OF BROUGHT LADY BACK!!!

I was referring to Tug's video lmao
One of my favorite videos and analysis from the whole fandom and a personal favorite on UA-cam in general AND it brought back the one and only legend, The Unlucky Tug. Guess it’s ironic it’s the very first video reposted. It’s a masterpiece then and it’s a masterpiece now. Love it
In their defence, Mattel were attempting to boost Thomas & Friends' appeal to a broader market by making the BWBA be a variety style of show, but the reason this failed to get major headway was because the writing team struggled to decide how to tie the loose ends together. In fact, this is hardly a new thing; many reboots of classic properties have faced a common fundamental problem; defending on the notion that, since these properties are symbols of public culture, they wouldn't have to worry about whether the writers legitimately know in-depth about these characters and their origins, only for them to question the worth of some things and alter them drastically. The Disney live-action remake and sequel area also can be classed as falling in this category. The All Engines Go reboot that followed further pushes the point.
One deviation from this principle I can signify is Dreamworks' film adaptation of the Peabody and Sherman segments from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. The reason why is that, since in the original source material we never saw anything of Peabody and Sherman other than travelling through different periods of time, I felt thus that the film was more of an expansion of the concept focused on their relationship as an odd couple than a deviation, and how that ends up underlying but also resolving issues with their bond. I didn't feel it was contradicting anything that had been established before, and I thought the tie-in short focused on Rocky and Bullwinkle themselves was a fine tribute to the original shorts. Yes, Dreamworks have made greater original works in animation, but Peabody and Sherman proved they could also do a good adapted piece if the circumstances are right.
Regards, Samuel Farris.
25:39 it would of been great to see an episode of Nia dealing with snow and having Donald and Douglas helping her

If even ANYONE has a sliver of respect for Mattel, they have got to be the most naiive and gullible people on this planet.
We thought this was the worst, until ALL ENGINES GO came along
You're the reason I discovered this show called "BWBA". It's way too silly!!! And the funny thing is, BWBA had potential for being a good show but the new direction the show took, lack of research, and reusing of backgrounds for the international episodes killed it. Nia and Rebecca had so much potential especially, but that was ruined. There was no need for Henry and Edward to be removed from the main cast! This is the world we live in where media is being highly engaged in feminism now!
It’s not feminism that’s the problem, it’s how brands push it in the wrong way so it looks good in the press without actually being progressive. They take the easy way out and not only essentially fake being progressive, they disrupt and prevent actual progress that could be made otherwise.
I'm rather confused on why the writing became bad when most of the writers from the Brenner Era, including Brenner himself, worked on the _BWBA_ episodes as well. The only thing I can draw from this is that the writers were pressured with mandates from Mattel and they struggled to write around them.
Yeah. Also Tug mentioned that Brenner left the team early on.@@1685Violin
I don't blame feminism for ruining media, I blame dumb rich hack writers that don't know how to write feminism well.
It always either ends up being misandry, or is just basic feminism that gets ruined by anti-feminism in the end making it meaningless
I was honestly worried you didn't have the episodes saved on a hard drive or something, thanks for proving me wrong man holy hell

They are now in the reboot but only as "Those Trains" and not actually mentioned by name
Here's one thing I would suggest to squeeze into the fix: Make James's crash a reason to make the sheds bigger, so when Thomas returns, there'll be a birth waiting for him.
Not only will it establish Nia's now part of the team, it'll also serve as a callback for Calling All Engines.
This man is just gonna Reupload all his videos back on UA-cam. What a legend
And shortly after, we got Tracks to Big Adventures created by ThomasFan2002 based on these remarkable ideas.
Something I realized when rewatching this video is how many BWBA promos re-use old renders from Nitrogen Studios.
45:18 I would watch an 18 hour video describing *everything* wrong with BWUBHA.
You know, if BWBA has so problems it takes 18 hours to go through it all, that’s proof it’s worse than the Nitrogen era. I mean, you can’t really talk for 18 hours on lazy formulaic writing, right?
@@cdangelo1843More like 18 days
@@fanofeverything30465 I hope you mean 18 days on BWBA, right?
I seen a guy ranting how horrible Toy Story 4 is for 6 hours straight. I think I can sit through 18 hours long of how bad BWBA is
@@cdangelo1843 Yes I do
And hope UA-cam and Mattel, don't block the channel again, because a video with opinions and facts, which are true and could continue the show beyond season 24
Coming back and watching this again , i think i came up with a fairly good idea for Edward.
So this takes place after the fastest red engine, James wrecks the sheds and takes out more than just the back wall, he takes out a support beam, causing part of the roof and sidewall to crumble. Topham reviews the damage and sends James to be fixed, once he comes back reconstruction on the sheds has begun, renovating it into a larger roundhouse with two extra births.
Edward has been doing his part to help build the sheds again. But it's clear that he's been handling most of the work, because of this he starts having steaming problems, steam keeps hissing out of his pipes and cylinders at an alarming rate. He's sent to the steam works to receive an overhaul, he travels to the steam works under his own power, once he arrives at the steam works, that's when we get the news that he'll be in the works for a long time (Until season 23, the season i'd cut the show at). Every time we see the steam works, we see Edward being worked on in the background, and every time he gets a good few lines of dialog, more often than not giving advice to other engines that are in the works, sometimes he'll recount his own experiences, such as his exploit in season 2. *we could even get a fantasy sequence recapping the events, imagine seeing an actually broken Edward, his frames all twisted and bent and missing a side-rod.*
Season 23 rolls around and in the final episode, before the royal engine, Edward makes his grand return to Tidmouth, and stays in The main crew. Maybe he can have some duo lead roles with some of the other mains, such as being a mentor to Nia or Rebecca.
I know this isnt a perfect idea, but its better than writing Edward to sleep with Phillip when Phillip is miles away from his work
4:30: Keep one thing in mind: Is that each special tended to come out before the seasons that took place before them. Season 21 takes place before this. The release order was really screwed up for the CGI seasons and specials, especially. All started when season 15 came out before Day of the Diesels.
and I'd also imagine Edward not getting 1 appearance every season where we see him get spotlight episodes of him helping Rosie and him getting a special train where the original 2 other railway engines, Henry and Gordon, have to work together to overcome a challenge like an important express to London where they meet the queen or something that could've been a good 75th anniversary special
Nia or Edward?

(I wrote this exact comment on the original video before Tug got terminated and the comment blew up. I just wanted to recomment it.)

Edward
I have said this before, but Nia's number episode is just nonsensical because of where she's from.
Her being from Kenya, English is one of the official languages of the country, and she understands how to speak English. How is it possible for someone to learn a language fully EXCEPT for the numbers? That makes no sense at all, as numbers are pretty important to learn in a language, and it doesn't make sense that NOW she has issues many episodes into the season.
Even if she somehow didn't learn the English terms for numbers, the Swahili language is nowadays written in the same script as English, so she could've been capable of reading the numbered signs in Swahili and go about her day.
I need to be honest, the ending of this video has to be the best because you totally had this epic idea of fixing the entire series. At first I didn’t see the whole “And How To Fix It” but after finally coming back to this video to see the ending, I think these thoughts and Ideas are pretty (Sorry for swearing here guys) DAMN AWESOME!!! However, I kinda wanna add 2 more births to accommodate Nia and Rebecca, yet still keep Edward and Henry. although I can’t help but to love these ideas Nick. I can not say how awesome of ideas these are Nick. Just… THE ENDING IS JUST THE BEST PART OF THE ENTIRE VIDEO! NO DOUBT!!!
By the way I’ll give a like for this video only for the ending of this video. LOL.
It’s all good Mr Tug we’ll get through this together
I'm pretty sure this is the video that got most us into this channel. Still a classic, but one of the weaker videos of tug's newer style content in my opinion, but even at that this video is still really good.
if this had been the peak of the tug's career, it would have been a bad sign
The fact that Gordon misses Thomas when Thomas is away from Sodor reminds me of the alliance that Gordon and Thomas had back in season one. Your idea for BWBA is infinitely better than what Mattel did!
Funnily enough this is the first re-upload of all of your videos where unlucky tug iconically returns. And I absolutely love it. When this video came out originally I was so excited to see that you were back! And you breaking down what makes this era of the show absolutely terrible. Either way I'm glad to see this video back and same with you Nick.
Nice to see this video again. Your way of fixing the era is still brilliant as it’ll always be 👍🏻👍🏻 Also if I try to fix the era, I would make Rebecca and Diesel 10 meet each other constantly until they become friends.
You know that Diesel 10 would never be friends with steam engines even Rebecca if he reappears in CGI and have his evilness returned. After being told about him, Rebecca would take him and his villainy seriously regardless of being nice like she did with Baz and Bernie. I hope you understand.
@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967 yeah but it is a chance for some character development for Diesel 10 just like they did Diesel in Springtime For Diesel and A Most Singular Engine
It’s just so baffling with how Thomas was treated over the years. From the HiT era to BWUBAH, everything that was good about Thomas has been slowly declining in terms of quality, writing, characters, and just everything. While HiT was the cause for the start of downfall, it was Mattel that had really done it. They took everything that was great about Thomas and changed it - thinking that it was a smart idea but all they did was ruin it. Not to mention they took out some key areas that were akin to the first 5 seasons of Thomas. The sheds that Thomas, Percy, and Toby stayed at is a good example.
If there is one more thing I want to get from Big World Big Adventures, it would be more proper info of it's production history.
Season 24 in particular, especially with it's unfinished looking animation, and Marvellous Machinery being an odd-ball within an odd-ball, oozes of a troubled one!
How was Marvellous Machinery an oddball? Besides the flossing robot. I haven't seen it.
@@NitroIndigo More in the sense that it does not feel connected to the BWBA formula (aside from Kenji); It honestly feels easy to conclude that something feels off - like there has been real meddling behind the scenes.
I think it would've made more sense if duck was the starring role of this film. think of it as a continuation of "all at sea" from Season 3.
Reason: duck ACTUALLY wanted to travel out of the uk to see the world, while thomas just wanted to leave the yard and see the WORLD OF SODOR. What do you think?
I want to see this 😢 it makes sense to me
(Plus Maybe expand on the dynamic between Duck and Harold and/or Percy, on top of new international friends)
@@whyiamafs that too, but you know what other special I think duck would be a better starring role in?
calling all engines.
It would be a better character arc for duck to get over of his distaste for diesels.
Plus duck was supposed to be a member of the "steam team" but that was thrown out in favor of having a female main. So let's have them have a little screen time together, same character dynamic from the actual film but when the sheds have been rebuilt, keep it 6, have duck give up his place in the shed just so she wouldn't feel alone, and he could sleep in the sheds where his branchline is.
Plus it wouldn't piss off fans as much that she replaced him.
@@cartoontalesans1977 Usual Nick Bloke did a rewrite of Calling All Engines with Thomas and James as the main roles. And honestly, it isn't that bad. But regarding BWBA, I totally agree that Duck or someone else should've been the main role.
@@cartoontalesans1977 I like this too

Nice to see this video back! This was literally my favourite birthday present when the original was released. Yes, the original video was uploaded on my 15th birthday.
I liked Nia and Rebecca, but I definitely think they could've had a lot more potential, AND a better introduction.
Same but I didn’t like how they replaced Edward and Henry from the steam team, there are a lot of characters out there who would’ve joined the steam team or they would’ve brought back Duck, Donald and Douglas, one thing I wish that the Brenner era would’ve done is brought back some characters from the past or from the nitrogen era and the model era for example Bash, Dash, Ferdinand, Stepney, Jeremy, Murdoch, Molly, Madge, Hank, Kelly, Ned, Elizabeth, Mighty Mac, Freddie, Duke to the show,
39:36 And Henry Got…… (Drumroll) NOTHING!!!!
39:49 What???!!!
That gets me every-time!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes
I hope you get your channel back nick! Also this is a legendary video glad that you could post it for the public to see.
15:16 the shot with Yong Baos side rods and him running alongside a tiger in that episode was beyond amazing, it was a beautiful masterpiece.
Can we make a petition to get Unlucky Tug as a writer for the show (if their even is a show at this point)
If they offered tug to write for the cartoon Thomas he would ghost them
And the rewatch binge officially begins.
I love Jinties.
There's a weirdness to the fact that they had to write Henry and Edward out of the show and have their berths filled, in the context of BWBA, Thomas is usually in another country, his is empty, but because episodes at Sodor HAVE to include him in some way, they needed two. Even though there'll be an intermittent berth thats just, empty doing nothing.
Here's a better idea, DON'T HAVE THOMAS AT SODOR. That way you'd only need one Berth to be emptied out. Which could be Edward. Or heck, maybe due to Rebecca's sudden appearance, make an extra side shed near Tidmouth Sheds, thats not the multi-berth, but Rebecca has nightmares or struggles sleeping on her own in that extra shed, which makes Henry give up his spot and use the side shed, which not only would let him become less scared himself, but maybe even be able to wake up everyone else by tooting his horn at the turn table
One thing that seemed to escape the creators of BWBA was that not every railroad in the world uses the same Guage. Thomas wouldn't be able to run on their rails unless he was modified. For the idea of Topham taking him on an international tour, it be a fun little idea that they outfit Thomas with special wheels. Since his valve gear in inside, the axels can have some clever mechanism that allows his wheels to widen or narrow to fit on the tracks.
So glad to see some of the content come back, We all hope you can get your main channel back 🙏
UA-cam: *deletes unlucky tugs video for too much copyright*
Unlucky tug: *I always come back*
let's not forget Toby and how he was basically forgotten
This video now marks 2 great comebacks for the unlucky tug
33:02 What did Nia and Rebecca do in three seasons?
DIDDLY F@#&ING SQUAT! 🤣
Let’s go go go get Unlucky Tug back on track to 200k subs
If you think about it, without BWBA, I don’t think the fan content would be where it is today
Rebecca and Nia could’ve been better. Especially Rebecca. In an au I’m working on, Rebecca is there the year her class were available. She makes sense there. Nia is an engine that doesn’t make any sense being there. A tank engine that isn’t very well known and there’s better options that are cheaper. Victor, while a little odd there, is a good fit. Hiro is amazing and, yes there are other options for express engines, he’s actually a very strong engine and was canonically bought before grestley took over the express market. They make sense. Nia literally just appeared and traveled thousands of miles without confirmation toppham will actually purchase her for the railway. Rebecca is British. Easy. They should’ve added just rebecca and had nia be just for the movie. They should’ve spent all their effort on making rebecca a character that is amazing. The best honour you can receive as a tv and/or cgi show character is making people feel that they should’ve been in the RWS. I know that this is what tug said but I’m one of those people who writes while watching (ik sue me) but I did write it before the points about them two.
Me when Unlucky Tug gets his channel terminated: 3:57
I love shitting on BWBA
