Møl has been killing it recently, absolutely amazing work and definitely one of, if not the best Blackgaze band right now! Hyped for the album and hyped to hopefully see you in February next year guys!
What's blackgaze?
A black metal subgenre. Basically a mix of shoegaze and black metal, the kind of washy, dreamy yet distorted sound of the guitars, general riffing style, the screams and all that, that’s Blackgaze. Other bands would be deafheaven, Unreqvited, Sadness (also one of my favs) and some of Alcests stuff I guess, not so familiar with their discog. There’s a lot of overlap with post black metal, stuff like harakiri for the sky or karg (which I realize have the same lead singer).
Møl however, together with sadness, just have a really unique feel to me, there’s a lot of energy in these songs and it’s fucking amazing!

I feel at the moment they are the one band with the most grunt/drive. A lot of engergy, love it.
Møl deserve the absolute most success possible, their music is phenomenal and just continues to become better and more addictive. Listen to Jord, their last album, it's one of those rare albums where every single song is your favorite. Absolutely genius band.

Listen to the other 2 singles and then their last album Jord, it’s all fuckin amazing and very unique. They also did a live session for some songs off their last album and they sound just incredible. One of the best up and coming bands in metal
So far in these 3 singles I hear, some Katatonia, bit of Paradise Lost with that harmony lead, bit of Omnium Gatherum, bit of Dark Tranquillity, dash of older Naglfar, mixed with hints of super early screaming Bathory, finished off with The Cure. You then have Mol IMO. Fkn pure awesomeness. Love it.

me gusta Mol hace bastante tiempo y al principio no me gustó el tema pero mientras lo escuchaba deje de lado mis prejuicios y la verdad es que es un muy buen tema. El ser musico a veces ayuda a dejar de lado lo que uno espera y simplemente escuchar lo que se te entrega. Sigan asi!!!!

One of the best bands out there right now, all 3 singles have been great, looks like they’re gonna follow up the fantastic Jord album with another Fantastic album. I’m really hoping they get more attention they have a very unique and cool sound and deserve more attention, awesome live band too.

I like Deafheaven but MOL fucking destroys them and any other blackgaze band. They are the powerhouse of the genre, not close.

Møl is easily then best in that genre, way better than deafheaven, bums me out DH is popular and barely anyone has heard Møl even tho they’re way better.

That O with a line... How tf do I pronounce that? Is it "mall", or "mole"? Maybe maul? mule? I'm so confused.
It’s honestly fine to just say mole, the pronunciation is slightly different than that but the band even said themselves most people pronounce it like mole and it’s close enough that it’s cool with them. So pronouncing in English just like it’s spelled Mol is close enough

The letter is an Ø, a letter only really found in Denmark, however the Swedes and Norwegians use it to, they just write it as Ö instead, which is pronounced vastly different from the German version of the same letter. When you pronounce Ø try to say the english O and E at the same time put your lips together, but it's still not quite there. Oh and Møl means Moth btw.

I'd say a proper pronouncation is closer to being something like the diphtong 'ir' in words like "mirth" and "birth", or the diphtong 'ear' in the word 'earth' (just without the 'r'-sound). But again, Danish vowels each have a variety of different sounds, making it difficult to say exactly what the vowel sounds like, because it very much depends on the context of letters. I'd say in this instance, go with the diphtong sound 'ir' from the word 'birth' (without stressing the 'r'), and you'll be as close to pronouncing the word correctly as you probably can.

Blackgaze/shoegaze, they’re easily the best band in the genre tho, nobody else sounds as good Imo, couldn’t really get into most the people in the genre like I could with Møl. If you like this song listen to their last album Jord, it’s fuckin amazing, and the other 2 singles photophobic and serf from the upcoming album, those both kick ass too. The more people listening to the band the better because they’re awesome and deserve more attention.

What does return the old Møl mean lol, the 3 singles for this album have been fantastic and they still sound like the same band that made jord which was awesome, it’s not like they’ve changed their sound a bunch.
