This is on of the best tutorial videos on UA-cam. The format , the way he plays then replayed slowed down The only thing it's missing is a highlighter lighting up the tab numbers, that's matching his playing. THAT, would make it, imo, the best way to learn any song. And I've been learning by tab since 1997!!!
Unequivocally the best lesson ever. I've been playing a long time and needed to learn this for someone for an open mic night. What would have taken me a half hour took me five minutes because of this lesson. There is no better UA-cam teaching style out there.
@@j.tsessions3132 it depends on how long you’ve been playing but the solo took about a day or two for me to master. i got all the notes one day slept on it and the next day practiced the tempo and i got it.
Hey man! I'm from Brazil and this helped me a lot and thanks, man. This music i used to hear in my childhood and now i'm 29 yrs old i play guitar so this helped a LOT OF!
Wow this is so cool, easy to follow and breaks it up into manageable chunks! Thank you! Subscribed! I'm a wannabe over-the-hill dude who is picking up the guitar again! Fun~
Yes, as long as you arpeggiate the notes of the chord it's fine. The original isn't at all consistent in regards to what strings are picked when and in what order, but for the sake of this lesson I kept it simple.
I don't practice Santeria I ain't got no crystal ball Well, I had a million dollars But I, I'd spend it all If I could find that Heina And that Sancho that she's found Well, I'd pop a cap in Sancho And I'd slap her down What I really wanna know Ah, baby, mhmm What I really wanna say I can't define Well, it's love That I need, oh My soul will have to Wait till I get back To find a Heina of my own Daddy's gonna love one and all I feel the break Feel the break, feel the break And I got live it up Oh, yeah, huh Well, I swear that I What I really wanna know Ah, baby What I really wanna say I can't define Got love, make it go My soul will have to What I really wanna say Ah, baby What I really wanna say Is I've got mine And I'll make it Oh, yes I'm coming up Tell Sanchito that if He knows what is good for him He best go run and hide Daddy's got a new Forty-Five And I won't think twice to stick That barrel straight down Sancho's throat Believe me when I say that I got Somethin' for his punk ass What I really wanna know Ah, baby Ooh, what I really wanna say Is there's just one Way back, and I'll make it, yeah My soul will have to wait
Yes exactly, this is a very important and underemphasized aspect of guitar rhythm playing. You want to keep moving your right hand consistently, kinda like the pendulum of a clock, this will help you lock into the groove much better, and allow you to play far more complicated rhythms later on!
What is the fingering for the g# in the intro? I can’t get it and from looking at yours it makes no sense you don’t have a finger on the second string, which is used in the (456 45) phrase. Help!!!
Hi Chris, no worries, great question! That G# at 0:20 is played as a a 'barre' chord, which means my index finger is barring across all 6 strings on the 4th fret, primarily focusing its pressure on the high and low E strings as well the B string, making that arpeggiated part possible. Just do a youtube search on barre chords and there should be plenty of videos explaining it a bit better than I can here. Make sure to give it some time as they're not all that comfortable to play at first, and pay close attention to the position of your wrist and thumb, as those are key in getting your index finger to stretch all the way across. Good luck!
Good question! Those are the symbols indicating various techniques used to play notes on the guitar. and they generally add a lot of musicality to your playing, as well as making certain things easier to play. Here's a quick overview I found, if you're in doubt about what any of them mean, just search youtube/google and you should be albe to find a ton of solid explanations: h = hammer-on p = pull-off / = slide up \ = slide down s = slide b = bend r = reverse bend, or release bend t = right hand tap + = right hand tap x = rhythm click or muted string v = vibrato ~ = vibrato (5) = ghost note, or optional note = harmonic
Hi there, those type of chords, known as barre (or bar) chords, are played by 'barring' the index finger across multiple strings while your other fingers form the actual chord shape (usually resembling open E, Em A and Am chords). The only way you will get your index finger across the fretboard is by making sure your wrist is bent and brought forward (see my LH in the vid). This is quite difficult and a bit uncomfortable at first, so if this is new to you, give it time and maybe do some additional research, check out some other videos etc. Good luck!
Damn I had already learned the solo but the video I watched it on was much harder to understand. I’m a visual learner and like have the tab and you taught it so well thanks earned a sub.
Fuck I can’t even get past the 2nd part of the intro i dont know if my hand isn’t big enough but I can’t get my index finger to hit the 4th fret on both the 6th string and 2nd
I feel your pain man, bar chords aren't easy at first! Make sure to pay close attention to the position and angle of my wrist, which will help getting your index finger to extend all the way. Practice these shapes slowly, maybe using the verse progression (which is all bar chords), before trying to play the intro. Also, there is absolutely no shame in simplifying the parts a bit if you haven't been playing all that long!

Thanks! That was an awesome lesson! I really appreciate the explanation of the G#.
Thanks, also for the sub! Although I wasn't really able to explain the G# in depth, a little music theory can go a long way, glad to help!

Well, I had a million dollars
But I, I'd spend it all
If I could find that Heina
And that Sancho that she's found
Well, I'd pop a cap in Sancho
And I'd slap her down
What I really wanna know
Ah, baby, mhmm
What I really wanna say
I can't define
Well, it's love
That I need, oh
My soul will have to
Wait till I get back
To find a Heina of my own
Daddy's gonna love one and all
I feel the break
Feel the break, feel the break
And I got live it up
Oh, yeah, huh
Well, I swear that I
What I really wanna know
Ah, baby
What I really wanna say
I can't define
Got love, make it go
My soul will have to
What I really wanna say
Ah, baby
What I really wanna say
Is I've got mine
And I'll make it
Oh, yes I'm coming up
Tell Sanchito that if
He knows what is good for him
He best go run and hide
Daddy's got a new Forty-Five
And I won't think twice to stick
That barrel straight down Sancho's throat
Believe me when I say that I got
Somethin' for his punk ass
