I think he didn't use it because you kinda need the force to be able to reliably deflect blaster bolts so it was more practical to use his blaster until then
Without the force he can't use it to block blaster bolts, so in a shootout he is better with his blasters. He only used the darksaber once he was in fighting distance.
This is where the Hutts kinda screwed up. They messed with people who don't really value wealth like they do. Maul and Savage are taught in the ways of the sith, the force is their only wealth and Visula values honor for the mandalorian name. Both of which are rivals to the jedi and have killed many of them. Hutt Clan, let this be a lesson. Next time unnatural colored Zabraks of excellent physical stature and a Mandalorian walk into your living room, give them whatever the fuck they ask for
Spencer Boos fun fact in the Disney Cannon this is not the last time jabba the hut gets beaten by sith jabba tried to take advantage of Vader while he was desperate only to have his wind pipe closed
Considering that those three all lose what little they gained and the Hutts still run the biggest clime conglomerate by the time the OT rolls around, I'm pretty sure the Hutts made the right decision here and that there's no lesson to be learned.
Yes but Jabba’s palace is well known, basically everyone knows it’s there Maul been to Tatooine before in ep 1 and maybe other times before What he was asking are where are all the other Hutt Crime Lords as they can be at any of their own base worlds. Even if the Hutt didn’t tell them, they would have searched the obvious themselves
Keep in mind, this is the Clone Wars, a time when the Jedi Order is thriving and the Sith are returning. And at least 2 of these bounty hunters have actually seen a Jedi or Sith recently.
Still jedi's are are a rare sight with only 5000 in a galaxy of billions and a sith lord is even rarer to see considering there should only be two at one time (I know maul isn't technically sith anymore but you get my drift)
Lol he just went "waaaaaaaagh" but Jabba has seen Jedi before whereas the other hut members haven't I guess. On another note I would have loved to see a force sensitive version of the huts species that would be funny af
I love how before he gives Savage the nod to kill Oruba, he gives the Hutt a look of pure annoyance/confusion, almost allowing him a chance to try to make a pathetic excuse on why he should allow him to live.

2:45 to 3:19 Oh. My. God. Kevin Kiner's music is fucking incredible during those moments. The music is what really makes this scene one of my favorites of the entire show.
Maul was a comparatively unknown underground assasin. Vader was the right-hand man of the galactic Emperor. Besides Vader is his family, and his relation to Ben was kept secret from Ben until Leia was banned from the Senate. The revelation caused huge confusion, fear and anger in Ben especially after learning that his parents lied to him about his family. He coped with the tradegy by starting to idolize and assimilate the character of Vader into him. That way he felt he might gain control of his insecurities. Instead succumbing to Snoke and killing Han made the pain even worse. That is why he resorted to trying to become even more self-sufficient in the dark side by killing Snoke and (trying to) kill Luke Skywalker without help.
I've seen this scene so many times, I often just look for details in the background. For example, Pre Viszla jetpacking to let Maul and Savage deflect for him at 0:48 or Marrok standing back after getting tossed by Maul at 3:26 and 3:35 (he even barks at that point when Sugi is tossed in front of him).
I was hoping he'd get captured on Tatooine and give the name "Jabba" while blindfolded and bound just to have the mask pulled off revealing the real deal himself sliding up his barge saying "No, I AM." in Huttese. That would've just made my day if I could have seen that.
this is still one of the best scenes in the show, the 3 make a great team with plenty of carnage and amazing shots. kinda wished this team up lasted longer
AntiTroll1000 grevious was crap. He was only intimidating. All talk and show but no actual bite. Obiwan owned him multiple times. Even fuckin kit fisto in this very show toyed with grevious.
Excalibur 4249 They purposely made him crap. If all of his training and strength are actually factored in and used properly, he could easily wipe out Pre Viszla. And I mean EASILY. Plus you're talking about Obi Wan and Kit Fisto, two very powerful Jedi Knights.
Alec R even so. Grevious' actual skill with a saber is crap. Look at when he fought obi on the train first season. He couldn't touch kenobi. In episode three, he hardly used his sabers. He punched and kicked obi more than he used the saber. I'm not saying grevious in all around crap, but with a saber he is crap.
Excalibur 4249 Just think of his training. Count dooku personally trained him. It seems like his skills are crap because their has to be someone to defeat. In the EU, which now is nonexistent, he wasn't crap to say the least. Plus all of lightsabers came from Jedi he's killed. I get what you're saying though. He does suck ass in saber fights for some reason.

Sure, no gore is fine, whatever, but I'm supposed to believe any of those lame fucks could attempt to hold their own against two trained/semitrained Sith? Come on. That is as convenient as it gets. I really tried to get into The Clone Wars, but it just felt weak to me. I am just ranting now. Fuck.
+Noah Krankowsky Rebels is being paid for by Disney, Disney doesnt want any super gore in their cartoon shows otherwise its bad for business, rebels team has to follow that rule or no more money, im sick of people like you complaining about that
One great thing about this series is the long line of "everybody gansta until" moments. Everybody gangsta until bounty hunters show up to take the Senate hostage, to assassinate Jedi, and to fight pirates. Everybody gangsta until a Sith-trained, lightsaber-armed assassin becomes a bounty hunter. Everybody gangsta until they have to break into a prison. Everybody gangsta until they have to fight underwater. Everybody gangsta until a Jedi goes rogue and tries to sabotage the clone troopers. Everybody gangsta until Hondo equips his plot armor and says, "Open fire!" Everybody gangsta until Sith-trained Zabrak and Death Watch team up.
There's a certain aspect to the Sith, especially the Maul brothers, that I appreciate. A calm, cool, badass, intimidating air that tells the viewer they are highly skilled and deadly and are not to be trifled with. I almost admire it if they were more like rogues than actual Sith/Dark Force users.
She is actually the same species (Zabrak, although she is a 'normal' Iradonian Zabrak) and zabraks have biological adaptations that give them advantages against, say, humans. So physically, she can keep up and STAY toe to toe with maul, so he has to use the Force against her.
Alex Możdżyński I think the only reason that they didn't show much of Latts Razzi and Dengar in the fight scene was because we've already seen them fight so they gave the other three bounty hunters a chance to show their skills to the audience.
+MMG 006 Personally I'm really fond of the thin lightsabers. I always thought sometimes the lighting effects for TCW lightsabers were horrible. Far too much motion blur, to the point where it looks more like a flag than a blade.
It's unbelievable how much this show redeemed the decision to (at first) kill Maul in The Phantom Menace. His comeback was everything I could have hoped for, and way more. From start to finish he was done maximum justice.
Could you imagine if Embo was force sensitive and stayed a bounty hunter, he really is top tier as it is and has proved this by fighting both Jedi and sith and surviving. Him being a force user as well would have made him OP.
@@zackxr because they were there for a reason, it wasn’t mercy more of a “every second counts” also plot armor in regards to the Bounty Hunters (oddly enough), seriously none of them should’ve had the chance to get away.

@@bemasaberwyn55 it is. Sidious does it against windu in revenge of the sith as well
Isn’t it because of his species?

Like an unstoppable force that cannot be contained. The way the look as their closing in on the irrelevant bounty hunters along with the Music, so badass

fun fact in the Disney Cannon this is not the last time jabba the hut gets beaten by sith
jabba tried to take advantage of Vader while he was desperate only to have his wind pipe closed

Considering that those three all lose what little they gained and the Hutts still run the biggest clime conglomerate by the time the OT rolls around, I'm pretty sure the Hutts made the right decision here and that there's no lesson to be learned.
I love Jabba’a reaction when he realizes that he’s dealing with a Sith Lord. He’s like “haha who do they think they are-OH SHIT”
0:36-0:47 me too.
In the Hutt's defense, he did give him the planet, Jabba's palace was located on. 4:35
Yes but Jabba’s palace is well known, basically everyone knows it’s there
Maul been to Tatooine before in ep 1 and maybe other times before
What he was asking are where are all the other Hutt Crime Lords as they can be at any of their own base worlds.
Even if the Hutt didn’t tell them, they would have searched the obvious themselves
the thing i love about it is how Pre Viszla responds to it like they actually learned something from him.
If this show was rated R then Maul and Savage would have literally killed everyone in here, just like it’s supposed to happen.
Do u know who Embo is?? He has both killed jedis and dark side users.... get ur facts right next time
Ok guy I don’t remember asking anything, and who doesn’t know that these are Sith that can do things far worse than just killing people.
Also the word Jedi goes for both plural and singular, meaning that the word Jedis doesn’t exist.
They wouldn't have killed Dengar, cause Plot Armor.
InterritusMC did you not see him retreating at the end of the video? If maul felt like it they would all be dead

I can just imagine what went through their heads: "Shit! We haven't seen a force wielder in ages! Quick! Open Fire!! OPEN FIRE!"
David Perez not really did u see jabbas expression when he saw then use the force...he was literally mocking them
At 0:46
Lol he just went "waaaaaaaagh" but Jabba has seen Jedi before whereas the other hut members haven't I guess. On another note I would have loved to see a force sensitive version of the huts species that would be funny af

Darth Vader was cool, but Darth Maul should be Kylo Ren's idol lol
Imagine a double bladed cross guard lightsaber for Kylo Ren
@@GamingMarioYT cool but idk if that would work
Maul was a comparatively unknown underground assasin.
@@plasmagreninja1577 I think there is a variant of the cross guard lightsaber with an emitter/vent on the back-end of the handle/hilt
"So the only thing you can tell me is that I will find Jabba at Jabba's palace?"
"Well when you say it like that, it sounds pretty stup- oh shit no!"
Ezra tells Maul his name is Jabba hahaha
When was that lol
he tells everyone that his name is Jabba, but im pretty sure everyone already knew he was lying. i just wonder why no one called him out on it
I was hoping he'd get captured on Tatooine and give the name "Jabba" while blindfolded and bound just to have the mask pulled off revealing the real deal himself sliding up his barge saying "No, I AM." in Huttese. That would've just made my day if I could have seen that.
Revan Shan and then feed him to said sarlacc
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING! I kept thinking of this including flashbacks
Dude, the quality of this episode is BEYOND god like.
My favourite of the entire show.
The episodes that focused on the villains were without a doubt the best episodes. Especially the Maul episodes.
The music when the dark saber got pulled out was epic
So much violence and Disney can’t even show a stormtrooper getting sliced by a lightsaber smh...
this is still one of the best scenes in the show, the 3 make a great team with plenty of carnage and amazing shots. kinda wished this team up lasted longer
3:07 I think Visla is probably the best non force using lightsaber wielder we are ever gonna get.....
Jaycee How quickly you forget General Grievous...

This show had balls. Maybe the Star Wars rebels team should take notes. Star Wars wasn't meant to be a kids show
Er, watch the episodes with Tarkin and Vader and then talk to me about "kid's show". Tarkin made CW look tame.
+Noah Krankowsky and no matter if you like it or not, star wars has always been a franchise that focused on kids. It was a kids franchise that adults aso can enjoy. Thats why 98% of all star wars fans fell in love with star wars when they were kids...
+TheUndyingCrystal 1 offscreen decapitation won't make rebels on cw level when clones and other Characters endured way worse daily.

I really tried to get into The Clone Wars, but it just felt weak to me. I am just ranting now. Fuck.

if I was the bounty hunter and I heard this nigga roar, I'm out
One great thing about this series is the long line of "everybody gansta until" moments.
Everybody gangsta until Hondo equips his plot armor and says, "Open fire!"
Everybody gangsta until Sith-trained Zabrak and Death Watch team up.
For a non force sensitive that woman bounty hunter sure held her own against Maul.
She is actually the same species (Zabrak, although she is a 'normal' Iradonian Zabrak) and zabraks have biological adaptations that give them advantages against, say, humans. So physically, she can keep up and STAY toe to toe with maul, so he has to use the Force against her.

The musical cue when Viszla ignites the darksaber still goes hard to this day.
People who still consider this as a kids show are just blind and ignorant towards what it actually presented: A series of interesting tales that all took place in a galaxy far far away, amazing action sequences, and pure, unadulterated badassery.
