people throw that "i love you" phrase around like confetti at a party. But when Dawn says it in each of her videos i FEEL loved. Perhaps it is her faith, perhaps it is that she has decluttered her life enough to find room in her heart to love us. i don't know. what i DO know is the honesty and love is REAL! i am humbled ...

Also after all the fun of the cake-making I was caught off guard when you said, "If you ever see us in public please say hi" because I imagined that happening and my eyes instantly welled up -- I'm quite certain I would walk up to you and tear up before I'd be able to get any words out! Regarding your cakes... I hope you found “homes” for all of the extras- maybe a soup kitchen or the guys at the fire

I’m a sucker for those super intricate Nordicware Bundt pans! One trick I read years ago to prevent sticking that sounds CRAZY but works perfect every time: instead of just spraying the pan (or spraying and flouring), you should spray and sugar the pan with regular granulated sugar! NEVER sticks and leaves the most glorious crust on the outside of the cake. Even those intricate Bundt pans.

Sounds like you basically have it covered, BUT years ago I found a recipe called Baker's Release. 1:1:1 ratio of white flour, canola/vegetable oil, and shortening. Mix up and keep in a jar room temp. I smear that by hand into all my pans before baking (except for the recipes that say no oiling) and never once have I had a cake stick since using it. Hope this helps:)

Days filled with one failure after another are growth days. You wouldn't be where you are without them. If you think back to where you started all those years ago, with one frustrating issue after another that wouldn't allow you to clean the house or manage your finances, you'll see that the "fail after fail" days were the best learning experiences anyone could have.
You're doing great! We love you! Thank you for being a genuinely kind and honest person we can depend upon to tell us the truth each and every day. Even when it's just a day full of problems. Your successes as well as your failures help us grow too. Keep up the good work. :)

Yeah! I love the Friday videos and I love baking...I have tons of baking pans, have done cake decorating for friends and family parties and weddings and one thing I decluttered from my full kitchen was my bundt pan. Lol. 😂😂 I also don’t plan on becoming a minimalist in my baking at this time. It brings joy to me when I try new recipes and bake a variety of different things...

Congratulations on your book! I am truly looking forward to receiving my copy. The cakes looked so good...the one you topped with the thick creamy topping looked so pretty. How creative you are, and it seems that you see the ones that didn't turn out as expected as simply part of the process. I was inspired. Thank you for your continued perseverance, giving hope and yourself.

I was so excited to use spray for bundt cakes because I've always done it the difficult way of shortening and flour, but now I'm not sure. I will probably give it a try though with the BAKING spray as I didn't know there was such a thing. Thanks for all your hard work perfecting these. I'm sure your family doesn't mind at all.

I have had trouble with bundt cake sticking before. My mom would always grease the pan with Crisco and then sprinkle either flour or cocoa powder on the pan.
I also learned a trick to keep from sticking. Jiggle the cake pan side and tap it a few times on the counter to get it to detach from the pan before inverting.
Thank you for being such a joy to bring into my home. I never have to worry about what you say if my kids come into the room. Good luck with the cook book!

That was probably for the best because I found out that I have diabetes around that time. Maybe I should get your book for her. I'm sure your family doesn't mind eating your failed cakes ...that actually sounds awesome! Have a wonderful weekend! ~Margie🤗🥮🎂
