2015 Cadillac Escalade Off-Road Review: Slade Finally Gets Dirt Under the Nails

  • ( www.TFLtruck.com ) The 2015 Cadillac Escalade is a very luxurious truck. While it can go off-road it is not the place most Escalade owners will take their vehicles. But that doesn't mean owners won't be taking it to their favorite fishing hole or backwoods cabin. Nathan recently found found out how it drives when the pavement ends in the TFL Truck Off-road review.

    This is literally the only video I've watched on UA-cam that shows a Cadillac Escalade driving off-road. Appreciate it for bothering to even attempt it, and thanks for uploading.

      Me too, with off road tires it would have performed way better....American automotive press doesn't test at all these luxury SUV's off road, I wish these folks will do the same for the latest generation of Lincoln Navigator but I feel it would be very clumsy offroad: too long, bulky and heavier than the latest Escalade.

      I own the 2016 Escalade. I got 4x4 only if I was in snow or mud. The 22 inch wheels and the ground clearance would make me cringe for Rocky off-road.

  • @chefcjnobles1680
    @chefcjnobles1680 9 років тому +3

    Wouldn't expect anyone from TFL to stoop to the low level of saying CUE is confusing. My ten year old daughter can operate CUE. Yes, it's a pinch "laggy" in the 2014 CTS but she can operate it fine. CUE 2.0 rolling out in 2016 Caddy's have addressed this issue but anyway, once you get it through your thick head that it's not an iPad it's pretty elementary to use/operate.
    #Btw I never call you guys on BS but the end cap where the dash meets the door on the Escalade was a big portion they paid attention to (according to Cadillac designers). I've personally tapped all over the new Escalade's interior and didn't find what you found.

    He did say they are 22 inch wheels, several times. Was wondering how much difference it would make if you put 20 inch wheels on it. I did drive my Yukon Denali on similar terrain, but it had 20 inch wheels. I have a 2018 Escalade now with 22 inch wheels and I still swear that the 20 inch wheels will give you a better ride. However, the dealer says I shouldn’t put 20 inch wheels on it because it voids the warranty? If any one has an answer to this I’d love to hear it. Thanks for putting this vehicle out there to see what it’s capable of doing.

    • @DocWolph
      @DocWolph 8 років тому +1

      sheldon blankenship
      Ford does it with the Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. Nissan does it with their Armada. Then there are the plethora of modern military vehicles with IRS that have to move the 5-10ton butts over the worst terrain short of climbing up a sheer cliff face, while towing another 5-25tons of equipment, if called for.
      Having IRS, when designed properly will not impede towing capability,stability, or reliably.

I understand how the rear is higher in the back on trucks so that when loaded it would be leveled. But why do it in SUV's. Not a lot of people use SUV's as a utility vehicle.

    Interior does look nice, but poor build quality of any kind is unacceptable on a truck of this price.

    You put together some good shows. However, the music isn't contributing much. Just gives the show the feeling that you're watching a television show. Its a guy show. I think most guys just want mechanical eye, good information, and some excitement.

      Arabia had only sand, much different than here in America, real off-road has cliffs, drops, rocks and mud. They wouldn't do good off-road here.

    It can't compete with a range rover at all in offroad conditions.
