Awesome review. I think what makes Teslas so special is that any other car with 1000hp would be almost undriveable anywhere but a track. They would be extremely loud, supercharged and get less than 10 miles per gallon. This you can drive to the store to pick up your groceries and still beat everything else on the road.
You're daughter is so ready to experiance rollercoasters now if she is tall enough. My daughter has been riding them since she was 7 and we both love them. Great review as always, The Model S Plaid is still the most fun car I've ever had the pleasure of riding in. There are plenty of nicer cars out there as far as fit & finish but few have what Tesla brings to the table with automation and performance.
Nobody NEEDS anything better than a Corolla, but this is one of those cars that made a lot of people want an EV for the first time, and Tesla keeps making it better and better.
@@Ethan7s nope, just math, it cost 8$ in electricity to travel 400 miles where I live, in 10 years I could buy a brand new tesla just from the gas savings let alone the maintenance.
Great review. Getting this as the new family car in 2 weeks - trading out a M3LR. Always loved the S, and now it looks even better than before! One of the better looking cars on the road TBH. People keep saying "waste of money just to go fast". They are missing the point. It's a great family car; lots of space for people and cargo (more than most cars in the segment), amazing AWD system, bio-defence mode that can be used in tunnels, one of the safest cars on the road today, air suspension. The interior is a love or hate thing. I love the minimalistic design. I don't need buttons for stuff I use 10% of the time (way cleaner this way). Amazing charging network, love the screen (maps is amazing) and it's really responsive, great app, keyless entry works amazing (just have phone in pocket) and it locks, unlocks etc. No stupid "start" button. Let's not forget having a car with 1000HP is just fun. Most EVs "die out" after 60 MPH, so the extra acceleration in the Plaid is not "for nothing" - it's always better to have too much power than too little. Regarding "soulless" - it's true. All EVs are soulless, but that's why I have a ICE track car for track and Sunday driving. That's my "fun car", even though it has well under half the power of the Plaid. That being said an EV for daily driving is the best. Never going back. That instant torque, silence and no vibrations is amazing. Also no more troubles with starting an ICE car when the temp is -20 C (which happens here in Norway).
Exactly!! I have a Tesla S Plaid as my family/daily driver and Camaro ZLE m6 for the weekends/track. As an enthusiast, I'm fortunate to have the best of both worlds. We had a Tesla M3P for 4 years before the Plaid, was a great little car as well.
Best family car I have ever owned. The storage is amazing, the tech, the performance, the look. Its a car I love to drive, to be in and to look at. The Yoke is fine. I like the clear view of the dash info. Its just a matter of muscle memory.
We’ve had ours for a year now and love it. The yoke has not been an issue for either of us. On long and or sporty drives I prefer it. On the rare occasion I need to do a 3 point turn, it really doesn’t both me. In a crash situation I could see needing the round and mm, but at that point the car is probably going to take over anyway because of the collision avoidance SW. the visibility it provides is amazing. Add being able to do a 300 trip for under $7 in a car that can spank anyone else on the road from any speed and it’s even more amazing.

One thing: as far as recals go... most are software patches that you authorize downloading through the app while the car is charging. The most recent one that sticks in memory was a patch to change how hard a window would pinch a finger before winding down again because the power windows were deemed too pinchy. A regular car would need a dealership visit for that.

A very cool and unique automobile. I can see why most Tesla owners love their vehicles. It was fun watching the Muzio Family enjoying the Model S Plaid. I was worried about the little one getting sick, but to the contrary, she loved it! The Model S, and especially the Plaid, look beautiful and sleek in photos and videos, but I don't know why it is that when I see them on the street I am a little less impressed. One question: is the awesome SpaceX badge standard on all Teslas, or just on the Plaid?
The SpaceX badge isn't standard on any Tesla, that was an aftermarket addition. Also, the newest Plaid models don't say "PLAID" on then, they just have the plaid logo on them. They're a little stelthy, you have to know what to look for to spot them.
@@mdrudholm Ah! Thank you Mark for that information☝For the price of that model, I would want it to tell the world that it is a Plaid model, but that's just me. I don't have to worry about it though, as I could never afford a Model S of any type
I like the wider wheel. It offers more control when accelerating or launching the car. It has much better visibility of the dash. It’s comfortable when cruising down the road. If you change the steering to comfort mode, it is very easy to turn with one finger while parking and maneuvering around tight spaces. I have not had any issues with controlling the car for performance driving. I have been track racing for years. Gas cars can’t compete with the Plaid. I bought the car for the performance, not to save the environment. Overall it is an awesome car.
It took Tesla 10 years to make the first interior design change on the model S and X leaving the exterior with no change. I think this design its going to continue as is for at least 5 years.
One note to include about Tesla recalls. Most of them are not physical recalls. By the time you get the little letter Tesla has already updated the car to fix it over the air

The steering wheel shape is better because it forces the driver to keep their hands at 9, 3 o'clock position and it makes the screen visible without problems. The issue is that it's linear steering instead of progressive so that you can lock the front wheels left to right or right to left without turning the steering one hundred eighty degrees or more so it has to be steer by wire to work. The buttons also need to be physical and tactile to know which one it is without having to glance down.

It's an awesome car. There are a TON of Teslas in my area these days. One thing that worries me is the 16-year-olds who will eventually be drag racing these things around.
What is cool is that I will never be able to experience one of these cars anytime soon and your presentation allows me to see what one is like. Happy with a Tesla for $109,000 great that satisfaction is included.
All the price increases last year put the Model S out of my reach but we got a Model 3 Performance instead and it's a wonderful car. It's not a daily driver but something that we go for fun drives and road trips in (and occasional silliness like in your video.) I know a lot of people have been turned off by Musk's behavior but that's a pity. It's an amazing car - and Apple Music is coming in a future update. It BETTER include podcasts.
Great review as always. Fun and entertaining. But...the Muzios recently reviewed the Toyota Venza and they complained about the lack of physical buttons. Yet here they didn't even mention the lack of buttons. I keep seeing this happen with different reviewers. They will criticize the lack of physical buttons on different vehicles but not on Teslas. Why is that? I would think that a Tesla, with all the things you have to use the screen to make happen, would be a very distracting and unsafe. Yet I rarely see reviewers say anything. Just curious why the lack of buttons doesn't get mentioned.
Minimalism. Until you drive, it's something only in your head. Once you experienced, it's hard to go back. Why he didn't complain lack of buttons? It has great performance that kills off everything. Toyota EV? No!
First time coming across your channel, good review. Maybe another commentor mentioned it, I don't think you covered voice commands. I find it is often better and more convenient to activate essential functions by voice command rather than taking your eyes off the road and fiddling with the infotainment screen. For example, if you're driving along and the windshield suddenly fogs up it's better to hit the voice command button on the yoke and just say, "turn on the front defroster." Same thing applies with other functions like navigation or adjusting the climate control settings. Regarding the yoke, I'm OK with it but I'd actually prefer the yoke to be narrower in width, and I'd prefer the turn signals to be buttons, I'm not always successful with haptic activation. Also I'd prefer the horn to be the middle pad of the steering wheel like many other cars. Still, I think the Plaid is a fantastic car, there are some many things it does extremely well, it has totally transformed my driving experience.
What might we imagine that Camry driver expressed when you suddenly accelerated past him? I'd guess it was similar to what many people think of Elon Musk.
Great Video but i totally disagree about it being a great family car. Ive driven the car a few times with the 21" wheels and it is a blast and the only few things that i dislike about the car is the yoke steering wheel, little leg room in the back and of course with minor details of the fit and finish that pretty much all Tesla model has had in the past to present day not to mention, range anxiety that i get when im behind an EV, nevertheless its a great vehicle and a fun one at $140,000.00, id settle for an SUV for my family.
I think another reason they have the yoke is to force people to hold the wheel/yoke at proper position so its harder to lose control when the untrained gun it and the car starts to take off. (ie see Mustang drivers cant drive videos - they hold the wheel at the 12 o'clock position and over steer into things and crash)

i would wrap it yellow or plaid.
Most of those "recalls" were Over The Air automatic updates...
Is this Paul Rudd's doppelganger?
Great review! So much of what you liked about the Model S is what we like about our Model X!
Love it. My next car in the same color
You get used to the yoke after a few weeks and can palm a uturn. Thr main thing I still hate is the lack of a physical gear selector.
The yoke is better because it looks cool. That’s enough for me
Great review as always.
The VHT isn’t necessary to achieve the sub 2 second 0-60. Brooks from dragtimes said he has done 0-60 in the 1.9 second range on a regular road.
Interesting detail. Thanks for mentioning it. Just curious, did the dragtimes time include rollout?
@@MicahMuzio Yeah, he included it
@@1ronEntertainment Wow. I’ll be sure to check it out. 👍
Love the honest review. Wish u had tried a 3-point-turn
1.99 seconds is on the road, but it's with 1ft rollout.
What might we imagine that Camry driver expressed when you suddenly accelerated past him? I'd guess it was similar to what many people think of Elon Musk.
Jealousy looks bad on everyone.
Have you had any luck with Park Assist functioning without having USS? Does the car provide any feedback at all?
so what would be the point for 21 inch wheel? Dose it provide more traction for 0-60 MPH as it is heavier???
Wouldn’t ever buy one, let alone ride in one, so I fully appreciate the video. Living vicariously!
Dude finally!
Why didn’t you test Autopilot?
Is it true that the overwhelming majority of Tesla recalls are remedied with an over the air software update?
Best Car Tesla 😍 Thanks E.Musk
I want to try that front license plate trick. How did you do that?
A fam that rides together in a Tesla plaid s stays together n we get to enjoy da reactions here is da topping beautiful family here n happy new yr 2023. On this new yr eve here December 31,2022. One day I will get me one . Move over NISSAN NISMO GTR MY TOP FAVORITE CAR . Well ok lambo AVENTI ALSO. PURPLE N BLACK
Fantastic review. Can we get kiddo a mic though?
Such a sweet family !
what's up with that missing cover in the front bumper?
Very good review:)! Thank you...
So what do you tell the judge when you get arrested for distracted driving?
Nobody:
Micah: Do you think we should smoke that camry??
*zoooooms*
Still nobody:
@7:13 the Model S Plaid has the same body panels as the regular model.
@8:26 "Its got Michelin PS4S" but shows a shot of the base rim's Pirelli All seasons. 🤦♂
Drive the X Plaid too please…
Most people get a beat up camry as their first car, the kiddo's tastes are going to be far more expensive 😂
It is worth noting that the vast majority of Tesla recalls are fixed by over the air updates, no need to take them to a Tesla service center.
That is worth noting. Thanks for mentioning it!
Omg this kid is like me with this need for speed.😂😂😂😂
Did you try using the screen as a rear view mirror and did you like it? I wish the main rear view mirror functioned as a digital mirror. I do like how using the screen as a rear view mirror I can see the blind spots too
It reminds me of the Porsche Panamera.... the exterior looks. The technology inside is definitely next level. I hope that charging availability improves to a point that makes electric cars a feasible option for many.
Look at out of warranty costs. 800 dollar door handle. 3-5k modules. Poor winter performance.
It already is. Tesla's Superchargers are essentially everywhere at this point.
I live in PA and there a least one tesla superchargers no more than 5 miles away everywhere you go in NJ theres is like any gas station they are everywhere and you can buy a ccs adapter like i do to charge in any chargers not just tesla superchargers
