I am one month post transplant, I am great full for the second chance of my life. I am full of energy, I walk a lot , I drink 3-4 liters of water. I pray that the stem cell project comes to be real soon and we all transplanted ones get rid of tedious immune suppressor meds. I am happy that I didn’t get extra pounds. Cindy I am happy you recovered now, don’t skip your medications. Those who are on Dialysis , I pray for you get the precious kidney soon and relieve from dialysis 😢
4 and a half years post transplant here. Became a long distance road cyclist for almost 2 years. Was doing good until I had covid in oct. 2021 and was not able to come back to cycling because I started having tachycardia after recovering from covid. Now I have gained more than 10kg after my first covid infection.
What a blessing to hear your story. It is very encouraging. I came here searching moon face, and found your powerful story. I gained 22 pounds in 3 days from Solu-Medrol and high dose prednisone. My legs have been weak and I have no energy. I kinda gave up and would just sit all day and eat donuts and chips. I thought there was no way I would exercise again. When I heard your testimony and saw you doing planks and playing soccer, and working and caring for another person, plus finding time for church. I felt so encouraged I cleaned the entire house. My wife is going to be shocked when she sees. I also have been missing church and other small groups because of excuses. God bless you for strength and willingness to share it. Thank you.
I had my transplant over 3 years ago I never had dialysis done before my transplant, but this is.a reminder for me to keep doing what I need to do no matter how hard or down I am at times. Thank you for sharing your journey. Hope you are doing better now❤
i am 70 years old and nearly 2 years post transplant from a deceased donor. Caring for my kidney is the number one thing I keep in mind every day. Someone died and made their kidney available for me. A whole team of very dedicated people cared for me thru dialysis and transplant, and still care for me. I can't let them down. I think of all those people every day, especially my unknown donor. I am very grateful for the gift I have been given and I make sure I live my life that way.

I really appreciate your Channel, so glad to hear you are doing well. No judgement here, you’ve been through many tough times and it’s hard keeping on top of everything including medication. It terrifies me when I forget to take medication on time. I’m buying myself a watch with an alarm as the middle of the day dose is the hardest to remember if you are busy. Looking forward to your next video. X
Hi Cindy , so glad you're feeling better. Kidney rejection can be so scary. I wish I could be as strong as you. It's been six months since my transplant, I've gained 30 pounds since. I've been brisk walking running as I'm only allowed those, my weight is just not going down. I was 100pounds and now I'm 130. My doctors here say it's ok this is usual. But I've lost confidence because of my appearance, personally it matters to me a lot. My clothes don't fit me anymore, I've hurt myself because of constantly stressing over it so hurting myself gave me a relief. I know I shouldn't do that. On top of that my appetite is off the roof. So it's emotionally wearing me out. I'm not able to help myself. I just turned 28, I'm on 5mg prednisone and my doctor says this dosage will be constant throughout my life, it makes me wanna skip it, but then I'll have to go back to the depressing hospital so I tend to avoid that. I know I should be grateful for a second chance in life, but no one prepared me for these side effects and changes. I'm emotionally wrecked, I can't afford therapy because of medication bills. My weight matters to me a lot, it was the only thing that was my confidence boost , and good tasting food used to make me feel happy but now it makes me feel guilty when I eat it. I'm even breaking down writing this. Please help.
Hey first of congrats on your transplant. Gaining weight is common but it can be reduced, so don't worry. The key to it is patience, sleep and diet. Too much stess also increases weight. Eat what you love to eat but just have a portion control. Dont skip your food and medication. Take care ❤. I am 7 months post transplant 😊.
Hey, firstly do not skip your pills, please. I haven’t gained any weight and I’m on the same dose as you. Just be strong, eat healthy snacks and exercise. But be healthy, don’t skip on food. You will lose some weight don’t worry but be nice to yourself, you’ve been through a lot. It takes time. I’m still struggling with side effects, the shakes etc. but it’s all better than dialysis.
Cindy you are such an inspiration keep it up! We all get weak sometimes in this life, but you got back up by Gods grace to continue your journey as positive light and for that we are grateful! 🙏🏾
I never had as much energy as you do.. I'm juts praying I will have a transplant, my pd catheter didnt work because of my severe constipation issues. Terrified to have the fistula but its all I can do. I will pray for you that you live a long normal life(no more transplant)
Dont worry. I had my fistula and it was not really that painful. Only a bit when they insert the needles. But it will get better. You need to take care of it (dont lift heavy weights and lie on top of it. Take care ❤.
Thank you so so much for being transparent and encouraging! So your first video you said that you got rejection due to not taking medication dosages and so the symptoms in this video of the fatigue and nausea those are the rejection symptoms after a day or a few weeks of not taking the medication?
Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m going through kidney rejection as well the problem is I’m being put out of the loop when it comes to my health. I need help with what questions to ask the doctors? I just had a biopsy 09/26/23 and they said my creatinine is 2.8. but sent me home and they said they are calling me over the phone this morning 10/03/23 to decide on what to do next. I feel as if I should have been admitted in the hospital it’s like they are waiting around until I’m back on dialysis!!! I’ve been having so many problems with the doctors. I was 223 pounds now am 243 with in that time frame. I have fluid overload and they are refusing to give me Lasix or anything to relieve the fluid. Please can you give me some advice on what I should be asking them?
Hello Cindy,, thanks for sharing your transplant journey. AMay I ask you a question? I had one of my adrenal glands removed this year. I want to start jogging but I'm concerned about having only one adrenal gland. I wanted to know if you have both adrenal glands?
I got a transplant last November. Since then I have felt good. I was so sick the last year before transplant. But still I have had rejections issues and it's hard because they have to balance meds to not reject and prevent the bk virus from popping up. I started rejecting to stop bk which was out if control, and then I began rejecting. Currently I am gfr 28 and creatin 2.6. Diarrhea for me was the sodium mostly I take Metamucil 2 times a day. But I have gained 20 lbs in the last 10 months.
Hi Cindy! Are you still on prednisolone? I am on it and my moon face is out of this world 😂 but you're looking so good! So happy to know you're always staying positive and active! I'm so inspired!
If you were given prednisone in high doses right after transplant or a rejection, it will take a while to leave your body. I am post 2 years on my 3d transplant, and I take 5mg prednisone daily, you can’t tell in my face. The first 2 months when they give you doses of 600mg are hard. And no amt of face sculpting or make up made it better. Prednisone is a life long transplant med, but they bring the dose down to 10 or 5 in time. Will depend on your health, weight ect
@@Johnmike247 i do exercise 2-3 times per weeks but mostly i got for a 2 mile walk at the park , but the gym not so much . One thing I do a lot is drinking lots of water and
