I’m hoping I can give 1 of my kidneys to my mom. if it was possible I would gladly give my mom both of my kidneys to help her no hesitation no second thoughts. I love her ❤
it's a re birth. we should wait with patience for transplantation. Till then...highest form of importance should be given to dialysis procedure. A good lifestyle balances the patient who is going through dialysis. Nice explanation.
I hate immunosuppressants man , sometimes I think if transplant is even worth it. The kidney field is still so archaic with no actual advancements since the 90s
Is there a specific immunosuppressant that causes squamous cell carcinoma? I am a kidney and panc transplant recipient, and recently diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. Dr. told me transplant recipients are mich more likely to get skin cancer, but did not tell me it was because of the meds we have to take.

I thought the same thing, meds are actually not that bad, transplant is totally worth it, I had to be in dialysis everyday a long with the strict diet

Why is the old damaged kidney not removed
There is no need to remove them, as they are not harmful and may still have some function remaining.
the damaged kidney itself isn't causing an issue, it's the lack of functionality - even if its functioning at 5%, it's better to keep it

Not the immunosuppressants, the anti viral med is sensitive to sunlight

yes, but it takes a lot of processes like cross-matching wherein they will test if you are compatible with the recipient/receiver.
