In Jesus name all shall be well, I love your positivity when you feel things are going the wrong direction, your honesty is applauded by me and your videos are such an inspiration to me , I’m 7 months into transplant, doing well so far, the word rejection never leaves my mind and I’m sure it’s in every transplanted patient , I’m not going to lie it’s a frightening word ,gone back to work to do what I love best ( looking after the sick) ITU nurse in a nutshell. Cindy, I am so glad you are doing much better. I know the feeling; as I also went through beginnings of kidney rejection or rather a high percentage of Donor Antibodies. Fortunately it was found early and my kidney function never dropped very much. I was 67 yrs old when I received my transplant and my GFR has never been above 50 and my creatinine never below 1.57. My heart just goes out to you for being so young and having to go through this. But God is able to do all things and he will restore your health to it's original numbers or even better than before the rejection! I will keep you in my prayers and may God continue to bless you and your family. Stay sweet my dear friend! 💕

OMG! I am going through the same right now. My transplant is 10 years old. I was in the hospital around October 2022 for Covid & pneumonia. That’s what affected my transplant. I spent 28 days in there. I’m doing dialysis now in hopes that the transplant function will regain. It’s been about a month & half now. It is making progress though. The Dr. said I’m borderline. I’m urinating over a kg. a day with dialysis. Creatine level at 3.4. But it fluctuates… I’m believing that I will be off dialysis within the next month or two. We got this Cindy! 🙏🏾💚

You came to mind a couple times this past year. I've been on a break from working for 9 months because I was stressing myself out overworking and got seizures for a while. My creatinine levels bumped up a little and a lot of life madness has happened since 2021 but even before that in end of 2019 I had to get a biopsy to figure out what was going on. I luckily stabilized but yeah life... and stress. I'm so sorry you had to go through this but I'm glad you're able to learn and grow from it. I've been far better about taking my meds since my seizures hit. That was my personal wakeup call to start figuring out what's going on again and allowing down time to care for me and my health. As a Caregiver I was getting caught up in everyone else's lives and health and not mine. I hit 10 years and honestly I'm scared but more aware that any moment things could change. Stay strong 💪🏼 thank you for sharing and being open because YOU and YOUR health is important! This is a great reminder to us all. You've got this Cindy, you matter! 🥰
Hi Cindy. Praying you always. Since I started working up for my kidney transplant I always watch your vlog. Now I am 3years kidney transplantee. And I have 1year old baby.
I am 1.5 years after Kidney Transplant and going good. But my wife and her family do not believe that Transplant is not a solution. She applied for divorce and despite surviving Transplant, now I have to go through mental trauma 😶

Thank you for your sharing. I am keeping you in prayer. In 1998 I’ve been there with rejection 4yr post transplant when I moved from TX to Scotland and just didn’t keep up on my medicine regimen as I should. I had to get back to USA asap as at the time UK was not using meds that I was going to be treated with in the US. I literally felt my life going and was too weak and had to use wheelchair to fly back and went right into hospital. It took several months of treatment over the next several months and was able to return to Scotland and was watched closely there. I surely learned my lesson and humbled to take care. Thankfully my transplanted kidney regained function for another 13yrs which was long considering I kept it in total of 17 yrs. I did a lot of travel and seeing your travel blogs reminded me of my younger life. Moved back to US closer to the transplant center in PA. I received a second kidney transplant in 2011. I remember thinking I could never go through another one again but with Gods help he got me thru one day at a time. I had 1 mild rejection episode and am on my 12yr on this second transplant. ( I was born with only one partially functioning kidney and at Childrens hospital back in the early 70’s.). It has been a privilege to meet so many brave warriors out there who has walked the organ failure/transplantation medicine regimen road or others who had other organ transplants. I was introduced to you by Tara (Chickee) who someday we will see her again! She encouraged me to vlog. Although I made some recordings I yet to start. I was so glad when you started to vlog. It takes courage to record all that’s happening when your going through so much. I pray for your strength, endurance and blessings on this journey you have been on and encouraging us to keep on. You can do this and get through your rejection one day at a time and know your completely in God’s hands. May God bless you❤️

God bless you kidney warrior! Thank you for sharing your story with us. I am a 10year post transplant patient. Life is difficult when most insurance companies don't want to accept us because of our condition. One sound advice a social worker told me is that if I am ever in a predicament of not being able to get access to transplant meds is to go to the ER and let them know my dilemma. You are so strong you go girl!
I am scared of rejection, so much. But I’m good even after a meltdown. Transplanted 6 years now. I’m so proud of myself. I’m nervous about needing to do extra to keep healthy. I hope the best for you.
I'm 22 years transplant patient my dad gave it to me I'm so blessed but is veryyyy important to drink your medication no matter how good you feel and how well u recover or how many years is been . I know is not easy but is ur life !!! I remember my doctor constantly telling me never ever forget or stop drinking your meds .. ..

Hi Cindy, I feel like we are kidney sisters I was on hemo for a few months then my mom gave me her kidney, it lasted 9 years before I had to start PD because I got covid and it made my transplant fail, now it’s been about 6 months and I am getting on the list again and my brother may be my next donor. I’m so sorry you rejected, I cried my eyes out because I had to quit my flight attendant job temporarily but this is temporary, we love your content and your kidney videos, nutrition tips and especially faith based videos have gotten me through many tough times in the hospital, I’ve cried watching your videos. I have had three transplants, and it’s not uncommon to go through rejection at least once. HOWEVER do not just jump to fear bc that doesn’t help. It’s important to always think positively. No one like prednisone and rabbit juice… But I promise you it is worth it.

Im sorry dear you have to go through all of this. My daughter has had 2 kidney transplants within 4 year time frame and both kidneys had worked for about a 1 -1/2 and now back on dialysis at 25.

I got my transplant in June of 2017. I found your videos then and have kept up with you over the years. In early 2022 I was told I needed to get a biopsy because my labs showed lower numbers. Got the biopsy, they said I was in rejection. Got admitted for a week and got the surgery for Plasmapheresis. Also got a infusion, I’m thinking it’s something with “globulin” in its name. Went home. A few days later I woke up and felt like I had been beaten up or in a car wreck. My body hurt so much I needed help putting on clothes. Went to the hospital. Got admitted for another week due to the side effect of the globulin medicine. Got discharged. Did Plasmapheresis for a month. Had the port taken out. Did Velcade shots every week or two for the remainder of the year from April to December. In March, doctor wants to take me off Tacro and put me on a biweekly infusion of a medicine that does the same thing but is easier on my kidney. They want to preserve my kidney until it’s the end. It could be a couple years maybe. It’s comforting to see your videos and that I’m not alone in this journey. Thank you for making these.

What side effect of ivig infusion u had for which u hospitalised ?
@@fathimahaneef8740 I was admitted a few days after coming home because the ivig embedded itself into my muscles and my body treated it as a foreign body. It made me unable to walk or even move my arms without pain. I felt like i had gotten run over by a car. I had to crawl to get to my phone to call my wife to leave work and to come help me put on clothes to take me to the hospital. I had went to bed the night before feeling fine but within 12 hours I became helpless like a baby. the first hospital i went to decided to drive me 4 hours to the university hospital that gave me the IVIG. I was there a week and the treatment ended up being mostly Benedryhl.

Hi, i went into severe rejection 3 months after transplant and underwent 10 days of thymoglobulin infusions. Now all my test results are in "normal" healthy ranges. So rejection is not the beginning of the end. I still take 22 pills every day, but i feel great. I hope you do too.
Its been 18 months past i had my kidney transplant and I never miss my medicines, i m now living a healthy life.

I’m so sorry to see you go through this. I’m happy you documented this and all of your transplant videos. My husband received a kidney transplant a year ago and your videos were extremely helpful. I remember the doctors telling us to call them anytime if there’s an issue with getting his meds. Hopefully they have other options in place for you if it happens again. I’m in Washington state so I’m not sure if protocols are different depending on which state you live in.

Hi Cindy, i hope that you're doing fine now and getting even more better. I've been your subscriber for years and i am shocked about your rejection.
I'm transplanted for 7yrs and 4months and everything is fine. Aren't you taking Tacrolimus? Coz I'm taking both Tacrolimus and mycophenolic acid as my immunosuppressant. Aside from these 2, i am also taking Prednisone 5m, Amlodipine 5mg, bisoprolol 1.25mg.

How long did you skip your meds? How many days? I am guilty of sometimes 😕 sleeping in till 10am and taking my meds when I wake up when there scheduled at 9am

Ask your Doctor if you can switch your meds to 10:00am and 10:00pm.

All is going with me even after being so regular and disciplined.My 10yeras kidney transplant patient my GFR is 27 and creatinine is 2.4 too.
And suffering with all the issues as same as yours...my is too planed for biopsy.

Hello, I’m a transplant recipient who is a vegan. I would say do your research because you will certainly need to take supplements most vegans take to stay healthy -(i.e B12, D, iodine, zinc, calcium). Also, since your creatinine is on the higher end be aware of how much potassium you’re eating, because on a vegan diet you’re generally eating a lot of potassium rich foods. One last thing balance your fiber intake because it can cause digestive issues. I just recently incorporated some egg whites and good quality fish in my diet. It hasn’t effected my body in a negative way.
had a rejection not to long ago .. had a 3 plasma treatments . That gave me the chills .. now I’m in dialysis.. currently waiting 8 hours since 6 this morning .. to called in for dialysis .. smh .. gotta stay patient with the process..

Did you feel any symptoms of rejection besides your lab work like less urine or fatigue? I haven't missed any dose but this is a wake up call for me for two reasons 1. There is nothing wrong with me being extra meticulous concerning my kidney health as my coordinator said I was doing too much and this has encouraged me to stop being in the dumps and wake up and live life like I use too. Life is too short. May the blood of Jesus heal you from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet in Jesus name. You are definitely going to be okay I just know.

Just found your video on UA-cam, I got my transplant one month ago and they just told me today I'm showing a very very low amount of antibodies against 1 of the donors H LA antibodies I guess like just 1 and it's low so he said it's not too big of a worry but of course now I'm worried so I'm trying to look up on UA-cam. I haven't finished your video yet so I'm hoping everything worked out fine for you!

I have had to deal with some minor rejection due to my team reducing my meds just a little too much due to having BK virus wake up. I was able to recover fully after taking that iv prednisone a few time and some minor med adjustments. Really scary stuff watching your video. I really hope you can bounce back. What was your gfr and creatine before this episode?

Yeah it's definitely a way of never getting a kidney transplant ever again not taking your medication since she might need a nother one since she wasnt taking her anti rejection medications she more likely will have to do dyalisis the rest of her life because of it

It’s pretty foolish to say you didn’t take your meds even bc of insurance bc that is grounds for not getting another transplant. I say that with the most love. Eval looks at mental health to see if you will take the meds and what to do if you can’t. NOW… You can go to the ER and tell them you can’t get your meds for transplant and they will give you them…. I go to 2 pharmacies to get my meds, and one of them makes my meds $70 cheaper. Fight with insurance that dialysis and a transplant is more expensive. I also can not take the main transplant meds bc they’re listed as an allergy bc I constantly throw up.
Take one day at a time I have had mine since 2017 Jan, I sat next to a few times when we were on dialysis same drs same hospital

Could have approached doctors they would give you alternatives which could be cheaper.

My kidneys stop work when my creatinine goes in the ones. 3.5??
