Wow, your play is beautiful. Great tip to put the bass on the opposite side. It's the most easy to play with less impact of the hand needed. So stretching for bass doesn't make much sense, the energy is needed for the higher notes. First one who mentions this. Thank you. I bought a tank drum this week and will consider this tip when I'm learning it. Great sounding instrument btw. Thank you for this great tips.
Privet Kosmosky! Thank you for a beautiful, informative and brilliant video. I don't understand the people who complain. There is a setting in UA-cam that will allow you to play a video at a really slow speed. And you can even have subtitles if you don't understand the accent, which is hardly there IMHO. I recently bought a steel tongue drum off ebay, but alas it hardly makes any sound when I drum with my fingers, which is really what I wanted. There is even rubber tips for your fingers but it doesn't really make a difference. So perhaps the best for me would be to buy a properly made and expensive drum from your website. What a wonderful present for myself it would be. Each of your drums are a masterpiece and I struggle with which design to choose, or if I should make my own design
Natasha, I don't know which drum you bought on eBay, but it is often not easy for beginners to start playing with fingers, even with our tank drums. In some of our tutorials we explained how to play with fingers, I think they should help you even do playing on your eBay drum.
Just got back from Montreal QC, Canada, 6 July. Wile there happened to come across Magasin de Musique Steve's. Saw this on display and fell in love with it. I have one by the weeks end. I'm an amateur percussionist. Been working on a song for my daughter for a few years now and the Tank Drum will help me close it...…. Thanks for post.....
This is so great as I needed to learn more techniques than playing with sticks. It also made me aware of the double tank which is a brilliant addition. Please post more!
These instructional videos are so helpful! And I agree with other commenters that your translator is awesome. I love her accent. At the same time she is very easy to understand! Still working on my Tritone A-Minor which I absolutely love! 🌟🎶
Oh this is awesome! I was looking for an instrument to play. And i think i found it! It makes a beautiful sound and this video helped me understand it more!
Hey! I suggest you buy from Kosmosky! I bought 2 of them and the shipping was quick and the customer service amazing! My drums are beautiful and sound even more beautiful! Relaxing and encouraging creativity. Cheers!
What a sweet sounding drum. I would love to have one and do a duet with a kalimba. I don’t know where you are or where you’re from, but greetings from the USA. I listen to these melodies and i think the world would be better off getting high and having a jam session with these beautiful instruments
The thing im having most trouble with is tempo and diffent timings. Id love a video on just diffent tempos and beat timings. like slap your thighs one hand at a time and in unison to get ideas of possible patterns to work on.
Could you specify what are the notes? I’m trying to tune mine like this one but I’m not sure of what notes from those two scales you’re using. I would really appreciate it! I love the sound. Thanks!
I have four tank drums, and my most-played one is my Kosmosky. I don't have much musical talent, but I love to play it, and my wife says she enjoys it too.
This will help to open up Jayce so I can communicate with him. I really don t and can t get to him yet. I first played the pots and pans in my daughters kitchen and yhey love the drum effects I showed all 3 boys. One is 5 who is Jareth then comes Jayce and last but not least Arik. Theor dad is a Scotsman and their mom Czech,Hungarian and German descent. Jayce is the leader of the pack and without him the other 2 get lost. They run and play together very roughly like wolves. I m teaching them music right after O taught them to tumble. I was a gymnastbsnd they re ready for music. Let s see how far this instrument takes Jayce as the other 2 will follow him only if he s interested. This will be a feat to vault over.
I play piano and would love to own a tongue drum. This would help my autistic Grandson who lives music amd this would help soothe his eratic behavior. He s 4 years old but is in tune with videoes and he learns to sing them as they are performed in the children s Disney character sings. It d soothe the savage beast within. He s very selfish with the toys he has and he tends to hide those special toys and he d do likewise with thos drum. I don t use credit cards, but my son who does will put my order through to you for his Christmas gift. I m very impressed with your drums. I will order one todayto take advantage of your special. It ll be interesting to see what he ll do woth this new inatrument...

Thank you for the tutorial! It gave me a little push to play more on my steel tongue drum. :) My drum is another type with pentatonic scale and "only" 11 notes but sounds amazing. (Thanks for Béla Sevecsek, check his youtube channel and his hand made instruments! :) )
I love your video and music. I am totally new at this and my drum is arriving tomorrow. My knowledge of musical notes etc is not good. Is there a book of music that shows music and what to touch to play music like you are doing? I hope I am saying it right.....I love the gentle tunes you played for meditation and enjoyment but don't know how to know what to tap.
Jayce Dingle is his name.Hr sings Kum-Bai-Yah My lord.Believe it or not I wonder if he,ll pick up on it. HYour instrumentalist is an excellent demonstrator for you. Hoe d yoi find her and what s her name? Can I get this instrument in Cedar Rapids,Iowa?

Plus, nobody is ever using their tongue to play, which kind of spoils the whole concept. When I read "tongue drum" I want to see people using their tongue to play, not a thing with tongue-shaped contact surfaces.
Most tongue drums are diatonic instruments, meaning they do not possess the chromaticism of many instruments. While this does prevent the playing of certain pieces, it also makes the instrument a very easy entry into the world of music for many people. To say that it isn't anything special because it is as simple as tapping the object to make sounds is very misleading, as the same can be said for many percussion instruments, though they are just as important as any other section of an ensemble. With the positive impact even a little bit of music can have on brain functions, mechanical skills, and overall happiness, any instrument with such a low skill and monetary entrance cost is quite special indeed.

What he showed in few minutes, all other tankdrum videos combined on you tube could not.
If i can learn this much, Nothing else is required 😉
I just came across your channel and you're the first person that makes this sound good. Almost reminds me of a handpan. Slightly higher pitched.
Thank you very much ☺️
Unbelievable quality from your drums! I just received mine a couple of days ago and the sound is amazing!
Thank you:)
Would love to have more of these tutorials regularly! My first tank drum has just been ordered and I’m so excited to play!

That's strange that people would pick on the narrator's accent. This is perfectly understandable English, v very good for a non-native speaker.

There is also the video with patterns of another tank drum ua-cam.com/video/mz4JzgCAcTQ/v-deo.html

This is so beautiful. In what scales is this drum?
Where can I order for the best tank drum? Do I need to learn it or play intuitively? It's very soothing.
I've searched for just the notes and I've found a lot on google or on here but not just a list of the notes mine is a 13 note one any help would be appreciated 😁
I have a question... I'm using my hands and in not getting a strong sound like you.. am I missing something
Look into getting some finger covers they do help with that.
His technique is insane! How long did he play before being able to master this?
Not so long! It can be easy for everybody - just try!
How long did it take you to become an ARTIST using the Tank drum?
Thank you for the tutorial! It gave me a little push to play more on my steel tongue drum. :) My drum is another type with pentatonic scale and "only" 11 notes but sounds amazing. (Thanks for Béla Sevecsek, check his youtube channel and his hand made instruments! :) )
How did you find your instrumentalist? Does she have her own band?
Nice, love it. Is it a 30cm?
Hi! So beautiful! I was wondering if you drum in this video was a 12" drum? Thank you!
I love your video and music. I am totally new at this and my drum is arriving tomorrow. My knowledge of musical notes etc is not good. Where can I find Russian version of this video?
Mine is strange, the tone is completely wrong if I dont use the mallets

Can you learn to play sometime nice if you have no idea about music?
This is way too fast to learn from it, or maybe i don't get it... I got frustrated lol
Between her thick accent and how fast the hands were moving, I'm having a very hard time understanding this unfortunately :(
Michelle, you can make the speed of playing slower in the settings of the UA-cam player. Unfortunately, her thick accent isn't fixable :)
Thick accent you're saying.... How many other languages do you speak? English only I bet
This is not really instructional. :(
