That's exactly how I landed on this video. Interestingly, my pulmonary doctor said not to bother and just to do the pursed lip breathing. But I've seen quite a bit of evidence to the contrary and it's nice to see you confirm that harmonica can be helpful as well. I hope your patients will film their Christmas show (assuming you can swing it) and upload it here on youtube. I imagine it would be quite inspirational for others with breathing issues.

My dad used to play the harmonica when I was a youngster. He'd sit on the couch playing whatever it was he was playing, sometimes for hours. I looked for that harmonica after he died a few years ago, and couldn't find it. I play the guitar, and have often thought about doing the whole playing a harmonica while playing the guitar thing. I also drive a truck. That has me thinking that I could learn how to play harmonica while I'm driving the highway every day, since I can do it with one hand, being straight up while looking forward. Thanks for the beginner tips. I may just go ahead and order a harmonica now.

This happened to me for singing. I sang for 25 years and never sounded good. However I didn't give up and one day learn how ro sing Raspberry Beret on my own. I found a harmonica last year and picked it up more seriously in the last few months. Now its time for me to sing and play. Thanks for the video.

I've been playing harmonica for years. Hohner Special 20 is fantastic. I love old blues. Learned a lot with a bottle of red wine roaming the train tracks. Years of walking blues. Great way to explain things to beginners.❤
I bought my very first harmonica yesterday. After researching and thinking I went with the Hohner blues master. I know it's nothing special but for tryout it was affordable. I looked at the order carefully to buy a C Major one. When it arrived I was excited. For about 2 minutes until I opened it, and find it out I got a G Major harmonica in a C Major box. I sent it back so I can order another C Major one now. Rough start.

Nice tutorial! I’ve been playing the diatonic harmonica for 53 years. My first harmonica was in the key of B-flat. I always play the harmonica with two hands. It’s the only way I can play it with feeling, phrasing, vibrato, note-bending and all that good stuff. BTW: Among my many instruments, the harmonica, pan flute and slide whistle are the only instruments I play strictly by ear. And the first tune I learned to play on the harmonica was the “Wedding March” with chords. 🎶

He passed away recently and while organizing his belongings and getting his affairs in order among other things, I stumbled across his collection of Harmonicas. I got my first when I was about 11 years old, and could already play piano. Somewhere I have various chromatic and tremelo, one with an attacghed wah cup, but I never had any lessons. Hey Luke, I'm so glad I found your channel. I am a huge blues/jazz fan, and I have decided I want to learn to play the harmonica (at 54-years-old)! My wife and kids are all very musically talented singers, and my wife plays the guitar, daughter piano/keys, and my son the drums. I am NOT musically talented in any way, but I LOVE MUSIC! I particularly love worship music, jazz/blues, and southern rock! I read that harmonica is an easier instrument to play, so I'm going to give it a try. My family is all making fun of me, but I'm not giving up on this!! I love the sound of the harmonica and have always been fascinated with it. I like that you can easily take it anywhere to practice. Excellent video! I have an M. Hohner "Blues Harp" that's about 50 years old. I think my parents gave it to me as a gift one year. I've never even tried to play it. I pulled it out today and took a look at this video. By the end, I was sounding pretty badass! I'm a woodwind player and never could even begin to imagine how this instrument is played. It's not as impossible as I thought!

Nice tutorial! I’ve been playing the diatonic harmonica for 53 years. My first harmonica was in the key of B-flat. I always play the harmonica with two hands. It’s the only way I can play it with feeling, phrasing, vibrato, note-bending and all that good stuff. BTW: Among my many instruments, the harmonica, pan flute and slide whistle are the only instruments I play strictly by ear. And the first tune I learned to play on the harmonica was the “Wedding March” with chords. 🎶

I've always loved the sound of Harmonicas, my Dad used to play one sometimes. He passed away recently and while organizing his belongings and getting his affairs in order among other things, I stumbled across his collection of Harmonicas. So now I'm determined to learn using his old collection so I can feel closer to him while I play and keep that memory alive. I'm so happy I stumbled upon your video. Thanks for the tutorial! The guidebook didn't show as good as this video and i really enjoyed playing my first songs thanks to this tutorial. I really hope i will play very well one day.
I got my first when I was about 11 years old, and could already play piano. Somewhere I have various chromatic and tremelo, one with an attacghed wah cup, but I never had any lessons. This vidao which I randomly stumbled upon has inspired me to pick it up again & practise a few techniques. Will be watching again. Many thanks. 5 stars *****

Hey Luke, I'm so glad I found your channel. I am a huge blues/jazz fan, and I have decided I want to learn to play the harmonica (at 54-years-old)! My wife and kids are all very musically talented singers, and my wife plays the guitar, daughter piano/keys, and my son the drums. I am NOT musically talented in any way, but I LOVE MUSIC! I particularly love worship music, jazz/blues, and southern rock! I read that harmonica is an easier instrument to play, so I'm going to give it a try. My family is all making fun of me, but I'm not giving up on this!! I love the sound of the harmonica and have always been fascinated with it. I like that you can easily take it anywhere to practice. THIS IS GOING TO BE SO FUN!!

Not so long ago I decided I would learn to play a musical instrument and the harmonica looked quite accessible given its price and size. Now I am pretty sure I’ve just found the best tutorial video ever! This has provided me the missing motivation to keep on going

Excellent video! I have an M. Hohner "Blues Harp" that's about 50 years old. I think my parents gave it to me as a gift one year. I've never even tried to play it. I pulled it out today and took a look at this video. By the end, I was sounding pretty badass! I'm a woodwind player and never could even begin to imagine how this instrument is played. It's not as impossible as I thought!
