For the way most people actually use a truck, the Maverick fulfills their needs perfectly. They don't need to haul a lot in the bed other than backs of mulch from a Big Box Store or something they picked up from a yard sale. They tow rarely, if every, and 4,000 lbs is plenty for a small camping trailer or a U-Haul. Their version of off-roading is a gravel or dirt road to a campsite in a forest or grandfather's fishing cabin by the lake where all-wheel drive and some ground clearance are more than capable of the job. Will the Maverick handle Moab? No, but Ford will sell you a Ranger with the Tremor package that'll do Moab. Will the Maverick handle 4x8 sheets of plywood or drywall all day long? If you need to use the bed that much for 4x8 sheets of anything Ford will sell you an F-150. Need to tow a 12,000 lb trailer, then buy a F-250. As long as you don't fantasize on numbers and Instragram posts the Maverick is all the truck most people need. If they need more truck, then Ford has that covered too.
I currently drive an F150. I can count the times I've actually towed something.... It's once. I'm replacing the F150 with a Maverick. I'll use the gas savings money to pay for a rental truck from home Depot if I need to tow a big trailer or something at some point. But owning an F150 (V8) for 4 years and towing once in those 4 years, doesnt make a whole lot of sense for me
I feel like truck bros focus too much on towing. That's not the type of customer that Ford is targeting. They are going to sell a ton of these and Jethro in his F-350 super diesel is going to be real confused.
This is exactly on point! Most people wont tow anything ever! This is perfect for the majority not the few! Besides Ford is happy to sell you a big expensive truck if that's what you want or need!
FORD doesn't say it but the truck is made in Mexico. Not that the issue being made in MEXICO is bad. But this is an import. It could have been made in KOREA or even RUSSIA.
Yes all Assembled in Mexico. All the hybrid engines are built in Mexico, the Ecoboost is built in the US or Spain. The rest of the parts could be from anywhere, I don’t know 🤷♂️

I own a civic and I'm getting the maverick hybrid. Better gas mileage and better usability. Can't beat that!
I’m buying from a Prius. Twice the size for a minor mpg decrease
I'm in the same situation, I need to drive one first though.

No thanks. Mexican made Ford is trouble. Disagree? Come buy mine. I'll buy an American made Hyundai with better warranty and reliability.
Ford Fiesta St. Problem free so far 🤷♂️
