Great video! One recommendation though...It is MUCH easier if you remove the upper radiator support. It's just four bolts and the whole condenser and shroud can come forward a bit. Took about 35 minutes total. Oh and you don't have to remove the battery or the fuse box by doing this.
Replaced this on my 2008 1500 today with no problems. I only replaced the motor, instead of the entire shroud. This video helped immensely. I appreciate it, keep putting quality videos like this one out.

Wow. This instructional video help me to get my fan unit changed out in mere minutes. I was dreading the task of having to figure out a way to remove without discharging the a/c system. This video made it a breeze. A+++++
FYI, removing the upper cross-member holding the rad and condenser made a huge difference.
Thank you very much for the great video! This turned a half day job into less than 90 minutes. If you do this yourself, be sure to watch part two, I kept saying "why won't the condenser go back into the shroud!?!" until I remembered part two where you have to pry with a flathead screwdriver between the condenser and the shroud on the upper passenger side. Be sure to watch part two at 6:10 where he talks about the original ones get stuck like that! I had that same problem and it cost 20 min!
I had to change my condenser fan on my truck and found this video on the Tube. I watched part 1 & 2, and was able to change the fan out in about 1 hour. It saved me about $150 in labor. Thanks 1AAuto

I was explaining how to do this over the phone so I searched for a video to help out on how to easily do it. I did this on my 08 dodge a few years back. It didn't hardly take any time at all to replace it when I did it. Had to explain about the cutting on the plastic and they got skeptical. I'm glad someone else said the same thing.
Just want to say thanks for this video. I am NOT a car guy, this was my first attempt to replace anything on my vehicle. I watched to video, followed you steps and BAM... done. Not sure I will become a car guy after this but it does make you feel good to get your hands dirty. Thanks.

Great video...helped a bunch! Taking the crossmember off was easy and gives you a bit more room too. I would like to chat with the Dodge engineers who designed that fan positioning though. 😬🔧
I'm so glad I found this video! A few months ago, this fan blade decided to just fall off. I spent hours trying to scissor finger my way into that thing to tighten the nut, while jamming a zip tie in the motor casing to hold it stationary. No luck with that. Watched this video, and fixed it in less than an hour. Works great now. Thanks!

thanks, worked great. i replaced the fan motor only for 30 bucks, once i had the fan housing out it was a simple 4 bolt replacement saved an additional 70 dollars

Great video! I would have never known about cutting out that plastic and would have tried getting it out without undoing the condensor itself. Had it out and back in in under 45 minutes!

Great video. Definitely helped me, after buying a replacement from 1A Auto and following the video, my truck is cool inside again. I did however remove the hood latching cross bar in the front to help give me extra room to work. All in all this was perfect.

Took me no time to do..I took the radiator shroud and pulled it lose from the radiator and held it back with zip ties, removed the top radiator hose and had room to pull and reinstall the condensor fan unit without removing and pulling back the fuse box..... thanks for your time..
@dpl1108121 That is a 1960 Pontiac Bonneville 4 door hardtop. For you Pontiac Fans it is an original Tripower Posi car with 8-lug wheels.
Great tutorial. This was much easier then I thought it would be. Your instruction made it very easy. Was done in like an hour.
You can try to remove just the motor, but it's in there pretty tight. You may need to remove everything shown in the video so that you can service it.
It may cause it to do that. If you have a check engine light on, you may want to pull the code to see what may be causing the fan to not work. Hope this helps.

The part was ordered on a Tuesday and delivered to my door on Friday. I was able to follow the video bolt by bolt and in just over an hour, I had the old fan out and the new fan in. Thanks again!!! I've seen a few of your You Tube videos when I had things I needed to do on my Truck which have been very helpful . However, I think that the procedure for this parts varies by which model year being worked on. I base this by comments here and my own personal experience with my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500.
With the 2007 the battery tray has a piece on it that the fuse panel clips into on front and back that makes removing it easy but it makes the tray take up more room making it impossible to remove the the fan assembly. I had to unbolt the tray completely to be able to move it back far enough to remove it.
This required me to take the wheel well out completely to get to two bolts holding the tray in behind it. Once I did that it became easy to take it out which I could have probably done without removing the radiator bolts but that's easy. The problem I now have is the motor that I bought won'r tighten all the way because the nut is stuck on the shaft or its tight enough that when I turn it the shaft turns with it and there is no way for be to be able to keep it from turning when attempting to tighten it.
I recommend to anyone doing this that they buy the whole fan assembly already assembled with the motor. It isn't much more and worth knowing it will not make you have to wait a week for one to arrive. I'm still going to see if there is a way of getting it by cutting a slit in the shaft where it comes out past the nut so I can put a screw driver on it as I tighten it. Also the packaging for the new motor I bought said to tighten at 35 ft lbs and not more because it would damage the motor after it starts being used. so my method won't allow me to torque it to the right specs.
Most parts for vehicle years cover certain model years when they make any significant changes to them. The 2006-2008 are usually in there own category with respect to most parts. so when I see something that says a part covers 2002-2008 I question if the procedure to replace it will be the same as well. Apparently not. Maybe you should mention this when covering a part that fits different model years than are usually covered when buying most parts. It was easy to figure out what I needed to do so no biggy really. I'm more concerned about having to wait a week for the assembly to get here. (If I'm lucky)

Good thing I looked at the comments! Also agree with taking off the upper radiator cross member and not touch the fuse box and battery tray. Saved myself almost $500. ALSO!!! NAPA replacement part has the condenser hose slotted out so you do not have to cut it out to install!!
Really appreciate the videos and this one saved me $300 that all the shops wanted to charge to do the repair. And gave me a good project to work on with my son. I now have cold air in Florida traffic once again! Thanks and keep those videos coming!
I just removed the radiator support, cut the shroud, it falls forward. 10 min. Replace JUST the MOTOR
It looks like he drained the radiator, did you have to do the same ? I’m not trying to do that, but if I got to then I got to.

Getting ready to do my Brothers Ram tomorrow. I really like the video and feel comfortable about going after it after watching this video. Thank you for posting it. The only thing I would add is this. When I installed hood pins on my 02 Ram a couple years ago, I removed the radiator support from across the front! It was very easy to do, just 4 bolts. I think removing the support will help with getting to the entire assembly. I will let you know tomorrow how it goes :)
Two years later, no update. Makes one wonder...is he still trying to fix this? :D
Thank you A1 Auto!! Bought my fan unit and received it promptly the same week. Just installed it in about an hour without any problems. I used the video as my guide during the install keeping my phone nearby; socket sizes helped. I would note that I ended up putting the (4) 10mm fan shroud bolts back in before lowering the condensor/fan assembly back into place. Much easier than doing it after lowering it back down. Once again, thanks and great customer service and tech help with the videos.

if you undo the fan's wire connection BEFORE you take out the shroud, its so much easier

The fuse box on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 does not come out like the one you show. the case is one solid piece with the battery box.
Overall great video... but not all years are the same. I have a 2007, and the fuse block and battery are all in one bucket. Pull the battery out to make room, the fuse/relay box can be removed from its holder and pulled out of the way. The fan and condenser assembly can be pulled up without removing the tray that holds the fuse block.
One more tip: disconnect the wire before you try to pull the assembly out.

Check that fuse #39.....A/C condenser fan fuse. Again, it will throw a P1491 code.
Remove the negative battery post. No need to remove the battery. Mark the hood latch brace with a sharpie then remove the 4 bolts makes the job a
lot easier.

I just finished this up and I want to add: Remove the front cross bar. Move the fuse box back. Removing the battery is a waste of effort. Absolute easiest way and least labor involved. TIP: Make sure your bolt clips (4) on the side of the condenser are lined up and not TOO loose. That was the only serious difficulty I had. One of them just would NOT line up and I ended up cross threading it.
How would you diagnose my issue. The a/c blows out real good n very cold but on a long trip we'll say 100 miles then it's starts blowing out slower to the point where I can feel hardly any air coming out.
If I turn the a/c off for a while it blows out cold again but not for long. Should I change the blower n condenser ?
I agree just remove the cross brace support. Easiest job I've done.

why are you removing battery ?
My 07 dodge 1500 SLT flex fuel 4.7 does not I repeat dose not have relays with the fuses or under the fuse box. Does any know where it would be for my ac condenser fan? The dodge parts guy was confused when I showed him.

i fixed it for 15 bucks by simply leaving it there and putting a pusher fan infront of it and keeps the ac cold just the same.. the dealer wanted 600$ cuz they wanted to drain the system and change the condenson n fan as an assembly so i bought a oftermarket fan and bolted it on .. much cheaper
where did you get the power supply..?..did you use the original cord and disconnected it from the original fan and plug it into the pusher fan?..this would make sense....then the system woul turn on the fan automatically

Try turning the bolt clock wise and not counter clockwise like most bolts.
If ever having to disconnect a battery, it is safer to disconnect the ground first!
This way there is no chance of arcing out from the positive terminal to any meatal.

You forgot the number one thing to do. Disconnect the negative battery terminal first that is the number one procedure in doing anything to a vehicle
Great video!!! Made the repair very simple. I had to remove the tray assembly that holds the battery and relay panel. It was a little different set up than the truck in your video. Other than having to remove the wheel well cover to remove two mounting bolts underneath, it was spot on. Thanks a bunch!!!

2carpros some how.shiws it easier. They dont loosen the radiator or the fuse box. So whats the difference?
Should the condenser fan run whenever the ac is on or just when the compressor kicks in? My 04 ram only cools while I'm driving but as soon as I stop the air comes out warm. I checked the condenser fan and its not on but then again I'm not sure if and when its suppose to running.

Why cant I find a video for a 2012, mine is right in front of the radiator not on the side so I am.sure installation as well removal is not the same.

Ok so all the videos im seeing r replacing 1 part. Im actually replacing the fan and the condenser so I have to take the lines off, condenser is leaking anyways so its NOT charged.
Geez, this looks so complicated. I see many comments on how easy it is, but it just looks very complicated to me.
I don’t understand why you would take all these things off or move them. I can understand why you would move the fuse box and the battery but not the ac line and the radiator like why does that need to be taken apart.
