Neither should Hekapoo from Star vs. the Forces of Evil, but many Star Fans still ship her with Marco or Tom and imagine her having babies with them because half-Hekapoo babies are cool now. I don't think anyone in the Magic High Commission even can breed because Glossaryck artificially created them with magic. April 7, 2020, 3:08pm I imagined how Hekapoo pregnancy could work in SVTFOE, and I thought it out just the same as Rose Quartz in Steven Universe. One could make some magic spell to give Hekapoo reproductive organs, but if Hekapoo really did try to breed with Marco (when he is overage on Earth and not just the Neverzone), Hekapoo and her child can not both exist at the same time because Hekapoo's kid needs magic to live, same as her. Sadly, only a miscarriage can save Hekapoo's life.
Helen totally told that lady off. I would have loved that scene in the movies. Too many homemakers, housewives/househusbands, and stay-at-home parents get criticized and mocked for their decisions.
Posey Hell yeah. One question though. I'm not a native speaker myself. what is the difference between homemakers, housewives/househusbands, and stay-at-home ?
Its out of place in this time of day. Usually its single career women who are told that their lives are unfulfilling unless they get married and have kids. The only time homemaker husbands are mocked is because most people tell them that they are lowering their potential by playing the "woman's role". Also, Helen almost outed her self by storming across a yard to lecture a woman who wasn't even speaking to her. Yeah she doesn't agree with the woman, but she wasn't mocking her to her face anyway.
BishtrainerTai16 I wouldn’t say out if place. While that situation does happen so do situations where people are mocked for raising their own kids and being home makers. While that situation might happen more it doesn’t mean the opposite doesn’t happen or is any less demeaning than the other extreme. Yeah but that doesn’t mean that was a bad thing, she just could’ve used a better choice of words but the overall point is a good one. Yeah she wasn’t speaking to her but she was demeaning her choice of lifestyle within a earshot of her, You don’t expect people to take that type of shit. Oh yes being insulted behind your back is TOTALLY better than being insulted to your face.
I do agree with them changing the opening, but I like how they show how much Helen really cares about her family and how much being a mother means to her and how much of a strong maternal figure she is in the film.
Poor Snugg. I guess I can see what Brad means about having a death. Violet's guilt for not being able to put up a shield makes a lot more sense, here. Poor girl probably feels responsible for his demise, and Helen has to console her. But later on, in the cave, Helen talks to the kids about how "These villains mean business, they will KILL you if you give them the chance", it may not have shown the danger face-on, but was still very chilling and impactful in getting the point across. (also, saw 999 likes and got to be the one bringing it yo 1,000! :D Yay! )
Keeping the Snug scene cripples Violet as a character. She has the exact right amount of guilt in the movie as stands. It can be resolved in one scene; because, her failure to save the plane isn't responsible for anything permanent. You'd have to dwell on it more when you get to the island.
The studio probably found it way too dark, which was supposed to be the whole point. Also, the fact that Snug is never brought up again, especially in the sequel really feels like a missed opportunity.
I do hope Brad finds a way to re-work the alternate opening into the sequel. I think it's safe to say that a huge hunk of us fans want to see *Baby Violet* in a flashback.
Honestly, the alternate opening is a great set up for a prequel. Start with Bob and Helen developing there powers as kids. They meet as teenagers. Grow up fall in love, but someone: Helen's ex, jealous guy or someone interferes instead of Syndrome and tries to take Violet. Maybe see Dash grow up too. Get on it Brad Bird.
Damn I can see how hard it was to let go of Snug. Heck he was going to be let go half way through the movie anyway. But even with all these choices, it'd good to see he was passionate about everything was willing to take risks and make sacrifices.
The Snug scene makes that crash so much sadder, and Dash saying "we're dead" suddenly goes from being kind of a humorous but understandable reaction to a traumatic moment
4:59 I totally prefer the alternate opening. I don't hate The Incredibles, the rest of the plot was pretty good and I liked it like any other Brad Bird fan, but with the alternate opening, it makes the movie even MORE Brad Bird and 150% better. Maybe he could reuse that alternate opening for Incredibles 2, coz I really, REALLY want him to use this very powerful, meaningful scene
All these deleted scenes give a very different feeling to the movie. It seems more of an old family drama. I'm glad they cut them, but I did like the moment where Syndrome goes to baby Violet, very unsettling.
I think the original opening with Helen telling that woman off was a good scene the whole thing with Syndrome seemed out of place since in this draft of the story, he wasn't the main antagonist and this would be the last time we'd even see the guy.
I love how The Incredibles has scenes in the film that's appealing for children but it also has scenes that appeal to adults who are watching it with their kids and that's why It's my favorite Pixar film
28:23 I think that scene would make a good contrast to The Mr incredible and buddy scene, it’s similar in concept: authority figures not allowing civilians engage on activities they consider to be too dangerous to them.
When I had the Incredibles DVD as a kid, I loved watching Brad Bird talk about these deleted sequences and his thought process behind them. Does anyone know of other films (animated or otherwise) which have intensive breakdowns of deleted/extended scenes or other things like this?
Brad Bird... when are you coming out with the next redeeming animated blockbuster of the century? Miyazaki is letting down the reigns, step up man! We cant afford to have any more Frozens. U_U;;;
In Helen’s Nightmare, Mr. Incredible was wearing a pair of rounded goggles. This pair resembles the Hypno Goggles used by Screenslaver to brainwash him in the sequel. Coincidence? I think not!
In some of the early concept art, Mr. Incredible wore goggles rather than a domino mask with his original costume. (Not sure if the whole family would’ve worn goggles, though, since they’re maskless in art from that same period.)
The only cuts I would have liked in the filmbwere the first one. The one with syndrome in the beginning. They should have just made him some other villian instead of syndrome so it will still fit.
Also I just realized at 31:23 Bob has Captain America’s shield. Avengers + The Incredibles crossover confirmed! 2040!, I’m saying 2040 because that’s probably how long until we get another Incredibles movie and Marvel has planned out exactly what films will come out 20 years from now
I could understand cutting things like the Alternate Opening and Snug, but why they left out the Bob in Traffic scene perplexes me. It would've been good enough to add to the final film, I think. It would be a subtle enough change of pace from the jewelry store scene.
I don’t know why I’m posting a comment to a video that is from 2013 so no one is gonna see this, but whatever. Anyway, I think it’s good that they cut these scenes. I feel like if they were in then the movie would have felt off and would have dragged on unnecessary. Also that scene with Bob and Helen arguing because she thinks he is cheating on her feels weird and also would make Bob more of an a-hole for not telling her about his hero work. Anyway I’m done, no one is gonna see this comment. P.S. Incredibles 2 was LIT AF I’m sorry, I got carried away a little bit
31:42 i remember seeing that one deleted scene where as a kid and i was like what?!! Looking back at it. It was a good idea deleted that out cause kids back then wouldn't get that and parents would be getting a bit to controversial. Also how the hell did they get away with a racist joke on that one adventure of Mr.incredible short with the commentary where frozone was complaining that they made him a white guy.
Storyboards are made pretty early on in the film making process, so they don't usually have the actors cast yet. They'll have stand-ins provide the voice so that the rest of the production team can have an idea of the pacing that the finished product will have. Measure twice, cut once and all that.
"One look at her laundry and I had to have her."
This movie is too perfect for words.
29:00 WTF ●_●
"...you're breaking the law, you know supers aren't allowed to breed." That line. I love this line.
I do hope that Brad Bird reworks the original opening as a flashback somehow.
And yes. That line is chillingly and ominously awesome.
But if that's the case why didn't the government just castrate all Supers? Too dark?
Neither should Hekapoo from Star vs. the Forces of Evil, but many Star Fans still ship her with Marco or Tom and imagine her having babies with them because half-Hekapoo babies are cool now. I don't think anyone in the Magic High Commission even can breed because Glossaryck artificially created them with magic. April 7, 2020, 3:08pm

Especially how he moves his finger.....
It's amazing how even these scenes cut from _The Incredibles_ are still better than moments in many finished films.
The first one is god awful.
Helen totally told that lady off. I would have loved that scene in the movies. Too many homemakers, housewives/househusbands, and stay-at-home parents get criticized and mocked for their decisions.
Posey Hell yeah. One question though. I'm not a native speaker myself. what is the difference between

+Legendaryknight2 their different words with essentially the same meaning

+BishtrainerTai16
She said that motherhood was unsubstantial to Helen's face, though. That lady got what she deserved; she was so obnoxious.
BishtrainerTai16 I wouldn’t say out if place. While that situation does happen so do situations where people are mocked for raising their own kids and being home makers. While that situation might happen more it doesn’t mean the opposite doesn’t happen or is any less demeaning than the other extreme.

yea like if they kept snug in she would 100% need therapy
The studio probably found it way too dark, which was supposed to be the whole point. Also, the fact that Snug is never brought up again, especially in the sequel really feels like a missed opportunity.
Exactly
I feel like brad bird just really has a deep understanding of the art of cinema, big respect for the guy.
I do hope Brad finds a way to re-work the alternate opening into the sequel.
I think it's safe to say that a huge hunk of us fans want to see *Baby Violet* in a flashback.
Bob being a literal homewrecker... that’s an awesome fucking metaphor omg
Thats kinda like what happened with Xerek
Jack Miller haven’t you learned anything from Monsters University, PIXAR prequels lead to disappointing results! Lol
Jack Miller I wouldn’t mind seeing this become a fully animated short
i dont think they met as teen i think they met when the supers thing started in the early 40s and they were both young adults
Damn I can see how hard it was to let go of Snug. Heck he was going to be let go half way through the movie anyway. But even with all these choices, it'd good to see he was passionate about everything was willing to take risks and make sacrifices.
Maybe he'll be in the sequel. Bird did state that he was going to use ideas that didn't fit into the original.
"Mundane contrasted with the fantastic". I've used that in my writing a few times

Except for the whole syndrome burglar thing
I also want to see some Baby Violet scenes.
@@alalmalal maybe change it a new villian. Or a struggling super who went nuts
I would have loved to see Bob pretending to have chopped his fingers off and trying to hide his invulnerability at the barbecue....
I like how Life's Incredible Again is playing on the radio
I'm happy they made these cuts. The movie wouldn't be the same.
All these deleted scenes give a very different feeling to the movie. It seems more of an old family drama. I'm glad they cut them, but I did like the moment where Syndrome goes to baby Violet, very unsettling.
yea it feels very american like cars and i never want any pixar movie to feel like cars
9:00 I just love that a they're talking like it's just another normal day...
I love watching storyboards play out like this, and it was interesting to hear from Brad Bird. Thanks for the upload!
This is great stuff. I have seen this before on DVD.
I saw that scene where he "cuts" his fingers when I was younger and it traumatized me. This whole time I thought it was some false memory.
Gut Put kinda glad this wasn't in the actual movie for that reason
Like how we saw Syndrome’s other weakness besides overconfidence and a cape: mirrors.
one of the only Superheroes we still have around are Mothers, Never forget.
Go sell your greeting card bromides somewhere else.
my mother is pathetic
“One look at her laundry and I had to have her” I love that line
I think the original opening with Helen telling that woman off was a good scene the whole thing with Syndrome seemed out of place since in this draft of the story, he wasn't the main antagonist and this would be the last time we'd even see the guy.
Grady Childs If the alternate scene somehow makes it to the sequel they could replace Syndrome with another villian
I really love that barbecue scene.
Was that a trick steak knife?
The blade dented on Bob's fingers, and he had to act like his fingers really did get chopped off.
I wanted some hot dogs.
I love how The Incredibles has scenes in the film that's appealing for children but it also has scenes that appeal to adults who are watching it with their kids and that's why It's my favorite Pixar film
28:23 I think that scene would make a good contrast to The Mr incredible and buddy scene, it’s similar in concept: authority figures not allowing civilians engage on activities they consider to be too dangerous to them.

check out the the UBREAKABLE DVD ( the movie by M Night Shyalmalan)
I’m glad that snug was cut in the final, I did wanted him in the movie but he died in the original version...maybe it was for the best
Kinda scared
5:45 Dick shaver? Also, that BBQ scene should have totally been in the final movie!
Out of all of them, Bob in traffic really should've been there all along
17:07 Snug looks terrifying...
They should make a comic book or something...
They actually did. They even included Xeryk
Umamajin really?
Where do you can read the comic?
Brad Bird... when are you coming out with the next redeeming animated blockbuster of the century?
Miyazaki is letting down the reigns, step up man! We cant afford to have any more Frozens. U_U;;;
Well, The Incredibles 2 is coming 2019, and he did say he's returning to hand drawn animation with a horror movie edge.
oh come on. frozen isn't a bad film, it's just terribly overhyped.
LR31O yeah, that's true
The only Frozen I want is Frozone
Violet as a baldy XD
It was honestly nightmarish for me. Not sure if I'm gonna sleep well tonight...
I like how Snug is still technically in the movie. They still got some use of him.
In “bob is traffic” I was seriously thinking that guy definitely flicked bob off I was like “Well Damn.”
I never knew that Brad Bird originally voiced Syndrome.... and Bob! :) I also never knew that he was such a good voice actor
Most of these are placeholder voices that the artists/animators do.
Man I wish he made more movies! I love Brad's movies!
I like how gritty the original opening looked. Maybe it would've been better to keep the seriousness of the Brad's vision but I like what we got.
The Parr family's last name were originally going to be the Smith family
Best Pixar Film 👏❤️
In Helen’s Nightmare, Mr. Incredible was wearing a pair of rounded goggles. This pair resembles the Hypno Goggles used by Screenslaver to brainwash him in the sequel.

13:50 bwaby violet ^-^
7:21 that shit scared the hell outta me when I've first seen this

31:21
Bob's always my favorite xP
32:37
that just makes me laugh for some reason
That barbecue should have at least been fully animated.
I need an expanded edition or puts this in 3 cause this is sooo smart
I’m glad they cut these scenes honestly
15:16 That has to be the villain for The Incredibles 2!
That Villain of The Incredibles 2 was the Screenslaver
Maybe they should make an incredibles 3 and he’ll be the main villain in that
I could understand cutting things like the Alternate Opening and Snug, but why they left out the Bob in Traffic scene perplexes me. It would've been good enough to add to the final film, I think. It would be a subtle enough change of pace from the jewelry store scene.
Helen's nightmare was always my favorite
I hope for incredibles 2 blu ray they reanimate these scenes
thank you for sharing.
I don’t know why I’m posting a comment to a video that is from 2013 so no one is gonna see this, but whatever. Anyway, I think it’s good that they cut these scenes. P.S. Incredibles 2 was LIT AF
I’m sorry, I got carried away a little bit
Dylan Winters incredibles 2 was terrible
Johnny Quasar I thought it was pretty good, but that’s ok because I respect your opinion
Bob: I CAN'T FIGHT MY INSTINCTS.
I think the original opening should be a Pixar short.
The pilot always has to die can’t live till the end I hate that trope. Glad they cut it
Why you little.... reference to the Simpsons, coincidence since Brad Bird worked on The Simpsons.
Coincidence? I think *_NOT!_*
Do you find something comical about my appearance in my automobile?
4:15 oh GOD 🤣 That one got me!
I like a lot the fact that the guy who is spying if Bob and Helen are supers , the one who is settling across the street is named Dick...
6:08 - 7:18 LMAO!!!! (BEST 70 SECONDS EVER!!)
If there is going to be a signature edition of The Incredibles I’d add in 2 deleted scenes Bob In Traffic and Vipers.
Hoping Snug's gonna be in The Incredibles 2, and then, they somehow kill him off, if they make Incredibles 3.
Wasn't there also another cut scene where Violet talks to her mom about something.
My favorite Pixar film!
Brad Bird thank you for the iron giant incredibles and ratatouille
I love story boards
Did Brad Bird voice syndrome for the story boards or was that Jason Lee?
28:55 Bob: Well that’s sweet. Hey Hey Hey Hey! What’s your hurry pal?
Me: Ooh sorry man my bad
31:42 i remember seeing that one deleted scene where as a kid and i was like what?!!
Looking back at it. It was a good idea deleted that out cause kids back then wouldn't get that and parents would be getting a bit to controversial. Also how the hell did they get away with a racist joke on that one adventure of Mr.incredible short with the commentary where frozone was complaining that they made him a white guy.
+fallen nova
That is not a 'racist joke' you twit
The jack jack stuff was taken out of the first one and it was like the only good things in the second one
8:25 this is one hell of a plot twist
They could have had the scene in but just have Vi make them invis as the vultures flew over.
Does anybody know why some of the storyboards have the actual voice actors but some don't?
Storyboards are made pretty early on in the film making process, so they don't usually have the actors cast yet. They'll have stand-ins provide the voice so that the rest of the production team can have an idea of the pacing that the finished product will have. Measure twice, cut once and all that.
34:24 it's just a dream
The best!
¿Can You Imagine What The Scene Where Elastigirl Infiltrates Syndrome's Base Would Look Like On Storyboard? 1:04 1:05 1:12 1:14 1:16 1:17
5:49 Did he just say his name was dick chafer?
Ashanti Nyongo thats rasict
So their last name was almost Smith?

i want that hat
15:04 - 15:20 = What's the name of villain firstly depicted?
The villain’s name is Xerek
The opening sequence is way too long. Plus Bob and Helen remind me of Melinda and Jim.
Ouch!
