The Secret History is so brilliant in terms of character study. So many themes investigated so thoroughly and Tartt just absolutely consumes your entire soul while you're reading. She doesn't even let go when you're done, it'll stay with you forever fr. She's such a genius for creating such awful people who are at the same time so charming and relatable. The gold standard of both literary fiction and dark academia.
