My routine for watching Jack's videos:
    1. Feverishly click on the video thumbnail.
    2. Open Goodreads on the second tab.
    3. Pausing every 15 seconds to add a new book to my never-ending to-read list.😌

Hey guys I am here because I am looking for help for an exam which is coming up in a week which is based on a novel that we (the students) do not know. However, my university professor spilled some information on the novel, mainly that the novel or a certain chapter/scene of the novel is said to play in a house/appartment on 89/Lamberton (street), which seems to be a very specific type of information if you ask me. If anyone out there happens to have read a novel which included this address I would be thankful if you could leave a short reply under this comment, stating the title and author of the novel. Thanks a lot in advance and have a nice weekend 😊 and to those who are also in the midst of writing exams: Good luck 👍

Such a great premise for a recommendations episode! For me the two books that have recently just completely floored me and engaged me and reignited my relationship to reading are Lamya H's Hijab Butch Blues and Alice Oseman's Loveless. I just felt completely seen by these two books and felt they were really spoke to me as a person. They'd appeal to anyone who wants to read about queer experiences that still aren't well represented in the world of literature - reading these books felt like quenching a deep insatiable thirst I didn't know I had

Another book with Everything Everywhere All At Once energy is called Interworld by Neil Gaiman and Michael Reeves. It's a YA series about this guy who discovers he can travel between the multiverse. And in this multiverse, there are more science-based worlds and more magic-based ones, and the two sides are at war. So the mc teams up with his alternate selves to fight the big bads orchestrating this war. It doesn't have the mother/daughter-themed emotional depth of EEAAO, but it's great for multiverse shenanigans!

Another great book for the 'train observations' is the day i stopped drinking milk by sudha murty. Shes an indian educator and the book is basically her observations in everyday life as someone who likes to help and sees potential in everyone. One of the stories (i think it was around 10 in total) takes place in an overfilled train, which is why I remembered the book. It's a great insight in the different parts of India and the multiple parts of culture there, and since murty is such a loyal person and treats everyone the same It's so heartwarming and heartbreaking at times. It's probably my fave non fiction i ever read

This video made me think of how little sadly gets translated into English. I realized I have read an amazing book that more or less fits the description "an endless journey on a train where the main character only observes people". Hytti nro 6 (Compartment nr 6) by Rosa Liksom, unfortunately it's only available to those who read either Finish or Swedish. (There's a movie I haven't seen though that's probably available with subtitles.) It made me think of how great it is that Jack often champions literature translated into English.

Jenny Hval, who written „Paradise Rot” is also a musician and her music aligns with themes/moods of the book. Maybe someone would be interested ;)
