Should YOU Buy a Cold Air Intake?

- Hey friends. Today I reviewed and installed a Roush Cold Air Intake on my 2006 Mustang GT. This intake kit comes with everything you need to install it on any 05-09 Mustang GT with the 4.6 liter v8. This video was very informational and it's somewhat different than my usual videos but I hope it helps you understand how cold air intakes work and whether or not you should buy one for your own car.

Dude I just spent $350 on a Barton short shifter , and $300 on blow fish transmission bracket , so I don’t get locked out of gears 🤷🏼♂️..., but man you must have a lot invested in that pony ..? Idk but it’s getting a lot nicer 🔥🔥🔥with every vid , keep up the good work . Love the content 👍🏼

Yess, I’ve been thinking about the Roush intake and JLT Intake
I personally like the roush one but both work well. I think the JLT one might make a little more power but I think the roush one is a little bit better quality

You don't need that air restrictor if you don't have a tune. Modern cars adjust for air fuel ratio, so more air means it will inject more fuel to compensate.
You’re almost correct. However, 05-09 mustangs don’t have adaptive mass airflow sensors. That’s why they don’t have sport mode either, because the car can’t adjust the tune on the fly. The computer has to be reset and flashed according to the mods you install. Otherwise the car will get a check engine light

If you have a stock 05-09 Mustang GT 3v 4.6l can’t you just install the air intake without the air reducer they give you and let it idle for 3-5 min so the ECU can adjust and relearn the new CAI?

@@kenali12 It definitely feels a little bit quicker and it helps with the throttle response but I wouldn't go into it expecting a drastic horsepower increase. You'd need a supercharger or cams if you want something more drastic

No dont bother i am going back to stock airbox the ford racing cold air intake makes the engine light come on and its a pain to keep turning it off
