This is the true "Air on G string in C major" arranged by August Wilhelmj, isn't it? Rarely can we listen to this arrangement even on UA-cam. I am glad to Kyung-Wha Chung's calm and excellent performance.
Awesome!!!! Very beautifully played. Actually played on the G string. Bravo to you, Kyung-Wha Chung. You're AWESOME. Eddie Hodges/ Philadelphia, PA USA
She and Anastasiya Petryshak are probably the only ones who actually play it on the G string... (August Wihelmj's arrangement). If you are gonna play the original version, just name it "Aria, by Bach".
Wow, I always blame myself; why did I gave up the violin when I was in intermediate school ;-; Btw, there aren't many orchestra or violin solo's who actually play only on the G string. Most people use all strings, D, A, and E strings. One thing really good about playing only on the G string? Besides its magnificent and calm tone, YOU CAN PLAY THIS SONG EVEN WHEN OTHER STRINGS BROKE! (G string really rarely breaks :p)
It's okay, Don't blame yourself! I'm currently in 8th grade, and still playing the violin. Once you play the violin, I like to think that the hand still remembers what it did long time ago. You can still start now and try again! I played this song in 6th grade at talent show, I did play it on only the G-string, it was hard first to stretch my hand to reach certain places. And also nice joke(?) at the end. Just try the violin again and see how and where the instrument and the music takes you :)
I imagine you would know the story of Paganini being in jail for debt, was allowed his violin, and one by one the strings broke. ( He must have been In for a while ! ) . He went on to compose pieces for the G string that no other violinists of his day were capable of playing.
(arr. from Orchestral Suite) is half correct. This version was arranged by Augst Wilhelmi well known as " Air on the G string (in C major)". Ms. Chung's performance is great!
The piano part has the same importance as the violin one,and the pianist in this case is doing excellent job. Lets not give lesson from UA-cam to the highest profile musicians on this planet .Respect and humbleness, please!
@@HenJack-vl5cb No one was arguing that one instrument was more important than the other. Maybe it's not the piano player but the recording/mic? Anyway it's subjective. Some people prefer a softer piano, you prefer a louder piano. Neither is wrong, it's a preference. If you can't handle other people's opinions you might want to get off the internet because you are going to see alot of them you dislike.
I didn't feel anything until moving notes at 0:11 .... I'm curious why she started with such a bland note. Perhaps to make statement! Perhaps to say "here we are in G!".... I just didn't hear it that way.... The rest was stunning! I may have to analyse her for work more... but an audience member/musician shouldn't have to.
Plays from her soul, brings tears to my eyes. That's about as high I compliment as I have for any musical performance.
Why am I crying?? This is so beautiful!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️

Best rendition of violin ever. Thank you Chung. You're the queen!
the most touching rendition of this piece….
Beautiful interpretation! Heart warming, relaxing... Plus, actually played on the g string! :) Love it!
Kyung-Wha Chung, was, is and always be excellent.
Best AIR ever. For everybody.
She has been so great all of her life; very overlooked!!! Bravo beautiful queen!!
Perfection on a single string.
Awesome!!!! Very beautifully played. Actually played on the G string. Bravo to you, Kyung-Wha Chung. You're AWESOME. Eddie Hodges/ Philadelphia, PA USA
The depth of tone is strong with this one!
Stunningly beautiful. Bravo! My thanks to the very excellent Mr JS Bach, Ms Kyung-Wha Chung and the un-named pianist.

@@user-ib2ty2mo1u Many thanks for that valuable information.
What a great performance of this.
The GRAND mother of violin!!!
sublime. It truly connects to the infinity.

+Fidulario Rabel I hate it when those people can't even tell the difference. -_-
+Fidulario Rabel Yeah, it was a pain to find the real thing on youtube among all these fakes whenever I felt like listening to it.
I agree.
hello ! i’m kardiam
I can't fathom the feeling. An epitome of playing this piece of JS Bach
Playing on the heart,G . Thank you Kyung Wha for this.

From now on, I will eat rice very day... and listen to J S Bach

Now this is 'Air on G String'...beautiful and smoothly played. Loved it!
Absolutely sublime.
Finally found a version how it's meant to be. TYVM!
Truly a bloody awesome performance
Some pain can not be describe by words, but it can reach us by music
Thank you so much! Wonderful! My respect and admiration!
Magnificent presentation .... sublime as the song of the lark and profound as the existence of God ....
The most heartbreaking g string
my all time favorite... deep into my heart!
She communicates so much of the human condition, beautify, ty.

ma'am.... splendid!
Very beautiful.
Calm, lovely presentation.
Beautiful... Thank you.
Excelente interpretación. Felicitaciones
This was my ex fiancé's ring tone back in 2003 - 2005. Had an awesome time with her...
Wow! Wonderful!
Virtuoso is virtuoso, indeed!
Amazing!!!
Bravo! This is how I like. Bach's Air to be really played on g string.
Wow, I always blame myself; why did I gave up the violin when I was in intermediate school ;-;

i love it!!
My eyes well up seeing her play like that.
MASTER PIECE
I am crying.
Most beautiful
Stunning
Yes.
Bravissima..
Exquisite.
Bravo
SUPERB!
ideal!
Clean !
wow
how can she play without shed a tear?
Very moving!
Biutifull
Looks like she lower tuned the D string for the vibrato of G?
I like to hear this piece on G string much better than on A string
Absolutely.
beautiful. How this song should be played - on the G string, not a high rendition
Great
what violin is playing, Stradivarius ? It seems magical
Ohhh my gosh 4.25
feeling
Piano player needs to play a bit softer in my opinion.
it's only necessary to close the piano( half way) !!
Maybe the soft pedal was broken on the piano.
