Just replaced mine recently. Sure its not gonna be as comfortable as the original air strut, but at the end of the day it saves me time and money. I don’t know about you guys but I had a very bad experience with the strut repair and replacement. My w220 was on and off the garage for more than 6 months until I converted it to coilover. Its not perfect and sometimes I miss the ride of the old air strut, but hey, I need to use car😀
hello, I'm happy to see your video, I plan to change my mercedes benz s280 w220 from airmatic to conventional suspension, I want to ask, after you replace the suspension, do you need a reset on the electronic settings program in the car? or just like that? your answer is very helpful for me thank you
Don’t it’s sucks the coilovers on w220 is a trap they’re not comfortable and they don’t last at all you will have to change it every 1to 2 years it’s better to just fix your airmatic
Seriously just change to airmatic. If u cant afford the original, go get china made, mine w220 is china made, feels the same as original, cost me $400 per side. Lasted me 5 years. Worth it.
@@flyingcyril2672 thank you for your reply , I'm thinking about doing this to my one hopefully because the air suspension pump is starting to make grinding noises as I am accelerating but stops when I'm not moving 🙄
@David yes and a 201 is 40 years, or a 67 mustang fastback is nearly 60 years old. Value will be more and more. The 220 at the lowest point from the price r.a. 2 years ago, in the next year they will rise, like the 140 s class. And 220 will rise more then the 140, cause there are less good 220s without rust than 140s. I have 12 220s as investment from 57 self owned cars. My dayli car is also a 220 - 5.5 supercharged amg from 2005. So stfu when you have not even a little bit of knowledge about cars.
@David It unfortunately decreases also the quality of the ride. I should know. I own one of these cars myself. Yes, the value is low (300k+), but not the quality of the ride. The only reason for mounting a coil spring suspension is the profit of the manufacturers.
@@petesanders21 There is a noticeable difference. Coils I would give 7 out of 10 only. The problem with people is, they don't understand Airmatic and let Mercedes do any and all repairs. Yes - that is very very expansive...!

@@ParachuteManiac5 years? Isn’t coilover a better return?
@@ImStep-by-Step coilover is like owning an s class but drive like a c class. Its not comfortable and subtle as the air suspension.
What's the benefits of having this suspension?
Maintenance. The airmatic might become higly complex to maintain correctly

Nothing, it’s shit. S-Class = NO normal springs !!!
