Thank you for yet another informative video for Paraguayan living for expats. Lovely to see you both. I really enjoy the bike ride footage at the end. Was this video made recently? How's the weather in Caacupe region these days? Do you see a wide range of differences in terms of weather in Paraguay depending on the region(I read Chako will be arid, whereas South will be cooler)? Greeting to you both.
Hola! The video was taken on the day it was posted (the latter part of the vid). At the moment the weather is quite variable. Some days we are in T shirts, shorts, others we have several layers, beanies, scarves. We haven't spent much time in other parts of the country so we can't comment too much regarding the variability, but we understand that it's warmer in the Chaco of course. We are hoping to do some trips soon fingers crossed we will have more to report about such things. Considering how warm it is during much of the year this cold spell is actually a nice change. We are enjoying the weather here. The sky is very clear and sun is intense...a little like New Zealand. The colors are bright and everything grows so fast. That's why I (Adam) am usually squinting. I have green eyes and I think that makes them more sensitive to light. It was the same in New Zealand. I found it much brighter there also (than Australia).
The best part is that you don't need an "agent" or helper to do it, and no need to bribe anybody. By the way Adam, the costs are in mill (thousand), not millones, which would put it out of reach of most people.
Hi there. Motorbike hire isn't a big thing where we are. Maybe you can rent a bike in Asuncion though. I have a friend who will know more so I'll ask him and if I get any useful info I will let you know. Bikes are so cheap to buy here it might just end up worth buying one (depending on how long you're intending to be here?).
@@rockglen57 Thanks for taking the time to listen. Man, I can understand why you'd want to get out of that gulag. What we've done isn't easy, it's not living the dream, but life under the advancing tyranny is untenable. By the time they implement all their tax initiatives you guys will be totally fleeced. Same in any commonwealth country, just different variations of the same theme. We are trying to help people make the leap by understanding the realities of this decision. Too many on YT try to sell the dream.
Hey Jacqueline...definately. The roads are way better. And when you consider what you're paying in petrol tax, RUC, WOF blah blah blah it's obscene what you are putting up with. Hopefully we will convince you to come join us.
Your from NZ me too, I got my Paraguay drivers license in 2 hours very easy just gave them my NZ license and did their tests for eyesite and hearing and road rules which was super easy too
@@gregducati999 Awesome. That's why we say check with your local municipality. We have heard there's quite a lot of variation depending on where you are. But sometimes in Paraguay it also just depends on how the official feels on the day you front up. We have found a variance in processes even where we live from one day to the next.
@@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay ... No problem ... You are a beautiful couple ... Congratulations ! ... and I wish you the best life in my beloved Paraguay ...
@@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay I subscribed to your channel. Where do you originally come from? And why Paraguay? I've watched several videos on your channel and find you very wise. Thanks for the help! Edit: I just read your site and you are from NZ and a freedom lover as well. Strange that you don't have a single video about guns and Paraguay has great laws about it... you can't have freedoms without guns.
@@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay Australia and New Zealand gave up their gun rights, and it was no coincidence that they suffered draconian measures. Meanwhile, in the USA, for the most part, no one's right to move freely was infringed, no one was forced to take the vacchine, and no one was arrested for criticizing measures online. It wasn't even necessary to use guns for this... but since the government knows that citizens can defend themselves, that's enough to make them think twice.
Hey there again, just an update. I have been advised that once you have a cedula you need to obtain a certificate from the Paraguay Police confirming that you have behaved well in this country. You then have the ability to apply for a gun licence. This info was from a friend of mine so like all advice, confirm it yourself before proceeding. We are intending to do more research about this to confirm the situation and when we do we will post a video.
@@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay Thank you very much, I'm looking forward to this. Notifications turned on! If possible during your research, could you confirm if it is possible to obtain a firearm license with a temporary residency? Or is permanent residency required? Thank you, and I'm really enjoying your site, great content.

Hi Adam and Brenda. good information as usual! I liked the music and the street view video from the back of your ride. Very cool
thanks for watching.
Went to Paraguay about 20 years ago what a great place so removed from all the BS we deal with out here.
It would have been interesting to see the country then. It's still in its own bubble, thankfully.
❤

Yes - anyone can do it themselves which is great! I corrected my mill/milliones mistake in the description. Thanks for watching 😁
yay
So, it sounds like there are no separate tests required to get your motorcycle license? If that's the case, I'm extremely excited!
Yes - you have a separate car & moto licence. It's the same written/eye sight test for both. You just pay a different fee for each. 😉
@@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay perfect, thanks! I won't even bother getting my motorcycle license here then.
Thx for info, much appreciated . What is it like to rent a motorbike in Paraguay? Do you have any info in this? Thx again.

@@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay Thx for reply, I'm heading to Asuncion for a few months so hopefully I can rent something 🤞
Thanks for this channel. Considering cashing out from Ontario Canada and retiring there

Actually sounds more simplistic than NZ and the road requirements are miles ahead regarding safety.

Just to clarify, is that results of a blood test, or a actual blood sample
Just the result...your blood type.
This is the part I have the biggest problem with. Government requirements and needles.
Do you need to be fluent in spanish to go through the process?
No, not at all. They help you if you don't speak Espanol.
Gs. 250 Millones !? ... Es la licencia mas cara de todo el planeta tierra !!! ... jaja ... Serán solo Gs. 250 Mil imagino ...
My mistake, mil...millione...too many 000's for this old brain! Thanks for pointing that out, I've put a disclaimer in the vid notes to explain.

Hey thanks so much. We love Paraguay and its people. We are so lucky to be here.
I am a Second Amendment lover. Can I get guns with a temporary residence?
We're gathering info about that topic. We'll get back to you.
