She is our teacher I wish you to show some respect to her,she is working hard to deliver us the info, so what is the issue if you ask her respectfully about this point !
If you buy the "Road to IELTS" online course, the course that is offered by the British Council, you will see that the examiner says that "The final paragraph should have one or two lines stating the overall trend or aspects of the graph. You will get a low mark if you don't do this". So, yes, do it.
i find this task very difficult when i have a lot of information and dont know how to sum them up. ugh! hope i will be better and better ! good luck to everyone taking the IELTS exams :)
I got my result 7.5 overall and 8in writng i owe it to 2 people emma and adam i habe not taken any ielts coaching and.totally relied on u guys and the result is all what you taught i wish i could somehow pay you guys a favour thank you so much guys
that is really impressive. congrats. I wanted to take the test on December. just curious, how long did you prepare urself for this and what writing practice you did to get 8 on writing? I am really afraid of the writing part to be honest
Hi Emma, your classes are fantastic and very helpful! Thank you for making and publishing them. There is one remark that I would like to highlight: I think amongst the charts the one that was labelled "flow chart" is actually an "org chart", short for "organisation chart". The flowchart is, as you describe it, a diagram that shows how a process is organised therefore it has arrows pointing from one action to other actions or decision points. This is based on my experience at a multinational company. And thanks again for the video. It is great!
hi emma. its me again. this morning i got my Ielts result.. I passed it with band score of 7 I'm so happy. i would like to say my deepest gratitude to you. thank you so much for all your videos. you and adam are the best.. thank you so much god bless
Miss Emma, youre an amazing teacher really youre best best best . i have score 7 overall band just because of you. thankyou so much the tips you give for every section is best i really like to thankyou . May God give you more success in your life thanks alot Love from pakistan
I can not be able to understand why many people did dislike to the vedio..She did her best free of charge to convey what ever massage she could. and i feel she did well. At least if you did not tik (like box )you dont have to tik the other one.
In Adam's video " What to Write!", he said that there shouldn't be any conclusion. However, in this video, you mentioned the 3 parts. You've got the introduction, body , and the CONCLUSION. Just wanna know which one I should follow. Thank you.
+Sunshine Padillo My teacher said that if you wrote enough 250 words, you needn't write the conclusion; however if it wasn't enough, you should write the conclusion to have adequate words. Conclusion is an optional part, you can make it it to emphazie, highlight an interesting characteristic of the graph, and make your witing become better.
In my opinion, there are two things that comes to mind when she said conclusion, it does not literarily mean drawing inferences. Firstly, It seems to me she implied. Using an adjective as a roadmap to let the examiner know, this is your last point. e.g. Using words like "In conclusion' 'On a final note' Finally' and so on. Secondly, I think she meant summarizing all of the points mentioned in the body not as an inference, but as a summary that could stand alone to describe what you saw. In essence, no conclusion for task 1, just a pointer that you are finalizing the report, so as not end your report abruptly, which is a sign of bad reporting.
+kovinster I will have the exam in this Thursday and I just started revising.. wow man! do I still have any chance to get a good score? advice is welcome!

Thank you very much Ms. Emma! A wonderful lesson! I loved the moment at 16:30 where you hesitated about the spelling of "plummeted/plummeTTed", I think that both ways are right, but I prefer the single "T" variant (1,430,000 vs 248,000 results in Google search.)
Thank you Emma. I can't thank you enough for such helpful videos and tips about IELTS preparation. I wish my English instructor is as outstanding as you!
hey! I'm so confused right now, I've just watch the video of adam about what to write, but he explains that we should' t write a conclusion on our task as is not an essay and we don't need to tell our opinion, but Emma says that to have coherence we need it, so… do I write it or not?
Emma, thank you very much, this video helped me to get 6.5 in writing without any special preparation 🙌 I had only 2 days to study writing task 1 and 2 and received 6.5 for writing. My overall score is 7.0!!!Thank you, thank you, thank you🙏
I went to an english teacher to practice and prepare for the Ielts but the only thing he does is to criticize me. Actually for me, this video is a light in deeper darkness haha, now I probably have a little bit clear thoughts to know how to organize my words, thank you so much teacher.
hello Emma, thank you for the great video. I have an important question and I need a definite answer. how can I calculate the number of words in my paragraph. should I include ( in, at, or, of, from, the, on, an, a ) as one word ? what is the rolls of counting please ?
Some tips from a Brit. - Draw a line under the intro and above the line graph and vertical line to the left of the intro. You can use that space for synonyms. - If you are going to write important words/ synonymous terms it might be better to use a red or blue pen to make them visually distinct. - Remember you are using a camcorder, you can edit your videos or slip in some pics demonstrating all the alternative sentences to save you walking in fron of the written stuff and distracting yourself. - It would be good to inform students as well as inclining, declining, or stable trends, some trends decline then recover, or incline then suffer. Even if this isn't present in the IELTS, it's good practice, and if students are presented with an inclining graph side by side with a declining graph they won't be too intimidated. Also the past tense is 'plummeted' :P Nice video though.
+Lola Olala it was good. The topics for speaking were quiet surprising. Other than that. It was all good. One more thing... Reading task 1 difficulty was out of this world. Not that much but yea.. Still. Good luck to all.
SeaMonkey Hope you will get the desired score. I'm terrified! Literally having nightmares about IELTS almost every night! Last year without any preparation I got 6. Do you think there's a chance to get 7 if I'm well-prepared this year? :'(
+Lola Olala Depends, preparation for rules only. Rest is experience! :) Practice more talking to your friends about random topics for speaking test but don't memorize answers, the examiner knows that. Heads up, the examiner changes the topic frequently, i noticed that. Anyone has the chance to get Band 7 but experience, effort, practice! :) GOOD LUCK! Tell me how it goes.
+jasmine rose Raju Usually, writing task 1 is to describe something. I was taught that 'conclusion' it is only if they ask you to analyse, or if there is a question on writing task 1. If they don't, you will finish your essay with a body paragraph, not necessarily with a conclusion. If I'm wrong, please, correct me... Because my IELTS is in 04 days. :P
I completed my ielts last month.but I got only 7 for writing. That means there is points to be corrected right... And I'm attempting again in the month of March

Even if this isn't present in the IELTS, it's good practice, and if students are presented with an inclining graph side by side with a declining graph they won't be too intimidated.

can I write an overview and conclusion for writing task 1??
+jasmine rose Raju Only if they ask you a question. But if it's only to describe a chart, you don't need to conclude anything.
Bt when you write a report, the format includes conclusion right??
+jasmine rose Raju Usually, writing task 1 is to describe something. I was taught that 'conclusion' it is only if they ask you to analyse, or if there is a question on writing task 1. If they don't, you will finish your essay with a body paragraph, not necessarily with a conclusion.
