This channel is a Canadian treasure. I love and appreciate everything all of you do. Noah you've been out lately man I'm jealous!
Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words
This has quickly become my favourite camping/canoeing channels. The editing, the cinematography, the commentary, the education about geoography/science, it's all amazing. I love how you don't leave too much in the videos too, just the right amount. Great stuff Noah
Amazing. Thank you!
Probably the best adventure channel on UA-cam. First class photography. He definitely makes you want to get out there and see the province!
Thanks so much, Phil!
Thanks for taking us along.
its 1:30 am and I LOST it when the moose impression hit
It looks rough and tumble bush. The topography and geography is so different to Australia and I want to explore Nova Scotia so much. Thanks for taking us on your journeys and sharing your unique experiences. Callum @ Brisbane.
Thanks Callum, I'm sure it's a little different down unda
Man, setting up some of these shots must be a real pain in the hole, especially solo. You probably double the work of someone who is "just doing the trip". Thank you for bringing us along.
That was an epic solo trip!! You never take short cuts Noah! Your trips are the real deal. I know kids half your age who can’t get through a rainy day on land. You crushed it! Folks, please subscribe! And no, I don’t know Noah.
Excellent show as always. Your comment about your younger self not believing how much interest song birds would bring in 10 years time is the same for me, so true.
Just totally freaking gorgeous. Your enthusiasm is spellbinding What a rare sighting of the main land moose. You are displaying very similar behavior of our John of Lost Lakes. I’m sure he is flattered. The geological history is well appreciated ❤
I was out grinding through the Tobeatic while this was published this week. I went from Sporting Lake stream, down through Buckshot Lake, up to Cofan cabin, then down the Shelburne to Irving Lake. We portaged over to the Roseway watershed and took out at McGill Lake access point. What a trip. We noticed your comments in the Cofan log book from your fall trip there. That first leg of our trip before Cofan was BRUTAL - great paddling scenery but the portages were so challenging.
What a slog! You must love huckleberry by now
Worth the wait Noah, absolutely love all your adventures and can’t wait to see the next one. Thanks for taking us along once again
My friend we were haning onto our seas here in Yarmouth !My family are from Roseway...this was terrific!
Great to see that country is still pristine. 40 years ago I was lucky enough to paddle and camp along all 5 of the rivers that originate in this watershed. Back in those days there were very few marked portages, so it was lots of bushwacking like you had to do.
This channel is one of the best! I love that you show off our home province of Nova Scotia. Well done and I will be watching out for that inland moose the next time I am out hiking! LOL
I think the moose had a disease
We got 2 major storms this winter. The amount of downed trees is the most I have seen in my half-century of life.
Thank You for all the education you provide to us ! Thanks for taking us along!! 😊
Beautiful river/lakes and well done on the trip. Keep up with the birds, geology, and food adds to your presentation. Thanks for fighting thru the huckleberries and rain showers.
Excellent. My uncle was a DNR officer for shelburne County.. he spoke of this area you travelled often.
Parrsboro boy
Hey Im an Arborist. If you don't want your bowline to come undone as easily you can tie a bowline with a "Yosemite finish".
Hi Noah, fabulous video. This new (22 years) Nova Scotian has never been in the Tobeatic...... I know, that's embarrassing. But even more wonderful to watch this. Your video-skills are becoming ace! Can't wait for the next adventure. Thanks!
Nice that you treat yourself to better coffee making when solo! We love getting to follow along on these adventures from our living room, and they just keep on getting more polished! And thanks for the shout out 🤙
Wow, you just posted a new video four hours ago and already have close to 4500 views. You’re doing great, keep it up. There’s a lot of us out here who love and look forward to watching your next adventure.
Great video Noah, and the mini-lecture on acid deposition was spot on. 👏🏻
Funny enough ; right at the moment I was asking myself « What? All these fantastic lakes and rivers and the dude is not fishing? », you told the story about the acidic soil & lakes… Beautiful trip man. 🤘🏼
One absolutely amazing adventure!! Back a number of years now, did canoe the whole outer route of Keji with a good group of friends...a beautiful piece of NS!!
I love how you just say mater-of-factly 'i'm going on a 4 day trip through the wilderness and canoe white water' and the bushcraft channels sound like an over night or 2 day is next to a life and death situation. Way to go Noah. Respect
I get very excited when I find a new Northerscavenger trip video in my cache! Bravo yet again, Noah.
You sure are a courageous young man to wade through all the swamps and fallen treed forests . Nova Scotia has so many lakes and swamps and fast flowing streams . My husband and I enjoy watching your videos . Well done . Thanks for sharing . We live in the Windsor NS area .
I'm happy to hear you enjoy the vids :)
So I'm on vacation, first time in Canada, coming down Vancouver Island from Port Hardy to Nanaimo, and a new video comes out. Going to Vancouver and Whistler tomorrow and Friday. Beautiful country.
Wow, you are among the best at maintaining a coherent narrative with drone and landscape photography to match. Hope you prosper.
These videos always make me miss Nova Scotia. You were exploring my old back yard! Thanks for sharing.
What an adventure!!! Loved this one.
Thanks dude!
Thanks for that brief glimpse of beauty in the insanity around us now. I did a similar tip on the Burnt River in southern Ontario in April 15 years ago, white water, canoeing and camping in a snow storm brings back great memories. Stay the course brother.
Excellent as usual. Keep them coming. Thank you sir.
What a wonderful adventure video. Beautifully filmed with explanations and how-to displays of camping skills, canoeing technique and thoughtful recommendations for anyone considering such a canoe trip. That this was a a solo adventure leaves me with both admiration and inspiration to get on with my far less ambitious canoeing and kayaking as a septuagenarian. Many thanks.
Thanks so much, John
Here on the Maine coast next to New Brunswick our fish experts are also trying to fix the rivers by placing clamshells on the bank to leach into the rivers similar to the lime approach I suspect.
Hey, you're in our neck of the woods!
What an amazing mainland moose sighting! Soo lucky to capture one in the wild on camera. Perfect way to cap off a pretty awesome looking trip!
Yeah I somehow thought the moose would be bigger 😅
@@tuckerandi must be stunted by the diet and location 😬
Pretty rough in there. What an understatement. Nice to know those places still exist though.
Noah, love your sense of fun and adventure on your videos. Looking forward to your next major expedition with a few of your buds.
Love Kegi
lol. That weird moose omg. ! Hahaha
The best thing about the figure 8 knot is that it's less likely to create a failure point in your rope compared to any other knot. All knots create weak points but figure 8s do so less than any other. It's also amazing how they don't usually get stuck under extreme forces. I took a page from this and applied it to my surgeon's knot, instead of two single overhand knots I use two double overhand knots (two loops per knot), and it's so much easier to untie! I think it's stronger too.
Another great one. Thanks for bringing us along on the adventure.
That mainland moose looked like it had some issues goin' on! 🤣🤣
👍👍
It definitely had some serious issues
Absolutely beautiful country.
these videos are amazing to watch at night to relax, i feel like i'm out camping even when i'm in my tiny college dorm room. love all the vids
Once again what a magnificent journey to bring us along!! Merci Merci Merci!!
Respect you brother, you're a genuine individual and that's what makes the content much more appealing for ninjas like myself
Awesome, I loved the moose imitation.
Always great trip to watch. Thanks.
I am always so excited to see a new video come out. I am never disappointed. In the same breath I'm sad when it's over.
That mainland moose looked like a big bull. Keep the content coming, Looking forward to your next adventure. Cheers Noah and stay safe.
Wow. That would have been a heavy trip for most but you made it look like light work with all your past experience. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed :)
That was another epic adventure my friend! Thanks for sharing😎
Thanks for another exciting adventure in our great wilderness.
Loved seeing a new adventure from you. My kids can't wait to watch it either! Keep up the great work. (Oh and I appreciated the 'beeps' for language... makes it that bit more accessible for those with little adventurous ones. Many thanks.)
Amazing! I hope the kids are stoked to get out and explore
What an amazing trip.
Beautiful trip...forest, rivers, lakes, canoe makes for a perfect video.
We had a similar problem with acid rain in the Adirondacks from midwest coal-fired power plants. They limed some of the lakes and if my recollection is correct, had some success with it.
Incredible as always. Just wanted to say thanks for the huge amount of inspiration. I’m doing my first 100k canoe adventure across Scotland next month and I’m starting to train white water the month after that in snowdonia. This is largely thanks to your content. It gives me endless amounts of wanderlust and I can’t wait to start my own adventures. Thank you Noah and northern scavenger!
Yessir! I'm stoked for you
Such a beautiful change man! Outstanding panoramic views!
Interesting ... We don't have good looking blue moose like yours in my country (France). Thanks for sharing another cool adventure! :-)
It's great to see the Tobeatic. I live near by but have never gone there. It was just one big storm in February that broke all those pines. Southerly 105 kmph here in the valley. Stronger up there in the hills.
Love your work….inspirational. My 3 young adult boys and I canoed the Tobeatic a couple of years ago and tried our best to follow the tent dwellers. Awesome trip. Memories forever. Taking this full journey may be the new bucket list challenge,
Noah, you are my favorite UA-cam creator.
I'm honoured 🙏
Never stop buddy, these videos are awesome.
Good job on those rapids. Glad you ended on a sunny day. Have a great year outdoors.
What a difference some sunshine makes! Still, it takes a lot of guts to go solo through an area like that, especially so early in the season.
Great video & narrative skills! Loved the flyby at 40:55. 🙂
love this. thank you. x the names are so evocative 'upset falls' every name has a story still. I love that that cabin was in such great condition - and so nicely built - the kitchen, and a bedroom. it is so fantastic that they're anarchic - as in social anarchy - people just. being good. I will never get to do this, for all sorts of reasons, so just having this is amazing. I do have birds I love in my garden tho - but in London, UK, so seeing a chickadee is sooo fantastic - they're insanely CUTE!!! just awwwwwww
Another great video allowing me to see the country i travelled many times. Crazy high water and sad to see the damage to Mason's Cabin, i took many Scouts there .
Thank you, Noah, for sharing another one of your epic canoe trips😊👏👏👏👏👏
What an amazing glacial area. Never seen anything like it before. Also enjoy the information on the area that you share with us.
This might be the best video yet uploaded on this channel (except for the big northern adventure series'). Noah, your commitment to documenting real, authentic adventure is admirable. Thanks for taking us along
Incredible film as always. You guys are some of the best in this genre. Looking forward to more as the season kicks off!
Your channel is definitely growing! Good for you Noah. Keep up the good work. Missing the group trips.
Greetings from Wisconsin. Thank you for the wonderful journey. I didn't know that there was such canoe paddling in N.S. I did a car camping circumnavigation of Nova Scotia and Cape Breton 40 years ago and new that one day I would return.
There are lots of blue lines to travel !
Another great video Noah. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures.
Great video, bringing back memories of my childhood, thanks for this.
In addition to the clam shells our fish experts are also dumping trees into the river to make habitat and stir up the river bottom creating deep holes as the current works its way through the downed trees. They are chopping the roots and pulling them over, the roots help anchor the tree so they don't wash away in spring flush. I can only suspect the felled tree could be a similar attempt.
Man this sure made my morning. Thank you for an awesome video! :D
Happy Spring!! Glad you out on the water and taking us along. Wonderful wildlife sightings today!!! LOL
Another excellent adventure. Thank you!
Thanks for another great adventure Noah!! So glad we, I mean you, made it home safe!
Noah, another great video! I enjoy your commentary on local history, geology and tips and tricks you share. Keep up the great work!
New to your channel . Enjoyed beaucoup. Subscibed. Looking forward to many more.
Thanks Noah. I really enjoyed watching.
Another great job,Noah! Love the topography and cabin!
Thanks for sharing, Noah. My wife and I completed this exact route in 2022. It seems our 'on-the-move' trail maintenance didn't leave a dent. Excellent content friend!
It's a fantastic route !
Thank you for sharing, what a wonderful trip.
A bowline is intended to be easy to "break" by flipping the back of the knot. But it is also prone to coming undone if you do not maintain constant pressure on it.
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing
Good stuff NB. Thanks for the excellent storytelling.
Always love it when I see a new adventure posted. Gotta say, soloing so many gnarly sets with some of those standing waves and boulders and the risk of finding a tree across the stream as you came around a bend, I am not sure I would have ventured ahead. I love every one of these and appreciate the extra time it takes to get all the extra details of footage that makes them so enjoyable
great film and very inspirational, both in canoe adventures and filming
That was some exciting paddling! You make it look easy : 0
That was awesome. Thank you.
You should consider a hammock. Nothing better than hanging high and dry above whatever is below you.
Thanks for the awesome video Noah - next best thing to being there. This is a great spring trip!
What a great few days in the back country of Nova Scotia! Great job as always, enjoyed the animation and information on what happened to our once thriving rivers.
Thanks Nic, I hope you're enjoying the road
nervewrackingly wonderful
Just subscribed. While I follow several other canoe tripping channels, the length of this video is just right; not too long or too short. Mainland moose sighting was great. I would be more worried about a Samsquanch though, as according to Bubbles, Nova Scotia is crawling with them.
