Thank you. I am a relatively experienced Windows user, and have just purchased a new laptop with Windows 11. I followed your playlist and found a few tips that I was not aware of. Helped to allay my fears on the upgrade from W 10. Saved for further learning.

Thank you. Easy to understand and to follow. Mentioning differences on older version is very helpful. Way cool.

WOW you are a good teacher. I always wish there was a person that had help available so a person could send a screen shot of a situation and then get directions that way. Thank you I'll save this one to watch again and again. It does review some things I already know and familiar with. I like to confirm what I think I understand.

I have a brand new windows 11 ‘all in one’ desktop. Have been using laptops for years. This video will be very helpful to me. I have an HP laptop thats been hanging around for a long time. It has windows 7 on it. I stopped using it several years ago because it became SO slow. Im wondering of some of your cleanup tips would make it run faster. I only keep it around because it has a couple of programs that I like for making cards and labels and none of the new computers have D drives. (I’m 85 and still learning)…great tutorial video. Thank you.

Yo man. Glad to be of help! I mean... you could try to clean it up or just put it back to factory condition and see if it helps. Could possibly upgrade the ram as well. But... I don't think I'd put any more or time into an older laptop tbh.

When I saw this in my recommends, I grabbed it. I've had computers since the early 80's. Yeah, as old as dirt. I've always mucked around inside them. This most recent, HP computer I just upgraded to 64 g memory and 1 tb of ssd storage. This is my first Windows 11 machine, and I need to learn the ins and outs. Thanks for putting this together. Subscribed. Cheers bro...

This is the real deal that I've been looking for as a beginner break everything down slowly he also zeros in on the screen so you can more clearly see what he is pointing to my only suggestion would be for him to explain why we even move the folders in the first place I know that may seem obvious to some but as a beginner I don't really understand why I would have to move the folders around so much

Thank you.....The presentation was basic. Just what I wanted. Some things were missed. I just purchased a new Acer win11 for my wife who now has an Acer Win7 converted to win10..10 years old. Trying to set things up. One of the problems was creating a website shortcut...click 3 dots>more tools>create shortcut. Every shortcut looks exactly like the multicolored Chrome icon just with a different name. So " how to create a shortcut "would have been nice to see on this vid. Tomorrow a tech person is coming to the house anyway so I'll learn then. You also mentioned that it's not good to have the hard drive running all the time. I may be wrong but setting the power options to accomplish that was not addressed. This video was a great start now let's learn more. Thanks again.

I am visually impaired. When you do not use full screen to show what you are doing I cannot see the text even using the computer magnifier plus a handheld magnifier. Would you consider keeping all of your screen shots in full screen mode? I am guessing I am not the only one who struggles with this. Thanks.

When you say "over here" and I am using magnifier, I cannot see where your cursor has gone. Please be specific with where your cursor is going. It takes me sometimes 5 minutes of doing "search and rescue" to find out where you went. Speaking of which, can you make your cursor more distinctive--as in color it, enlarge it, etc. I know this seems silly, but it is frustrating to me to keep up. I many times will run programs at slower speeds just to be able to see such things as your cursor moving--at least see possibly whether it is heading north, south, east or west. Also, your instructions have been really helpful. I used a MacBook for decades, so making the shift to PC still seems awkward. Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos. They are very well done.

    Two questions :
1 - bottom/right corner of my desktop screen shows date in the American format mmddyyyy ; in Australia is ddmmyyyy . How could I do the change ?
2 - How can I have a quick search icon on my screen for many of the apps that I use ? Some got there automatically , others not !

      1. Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app. Go to Time & Language>Language & region>Regional format>Change formats
      2. Not sure exactly what you mean. There should be a search bar by default on the taskbar. If it isn't there, right click on an empty part of the taskbar, "Search" and then "Show search box"

This didn't fully work for me on a new computer even though I have Gmail connected to Outlook on 3 of my other older computers.
Following these steps did however manage to get my Gmail account to verify to Windows and to then show up in my Outlook Office 365 desktop app after I opened it but then after I click on the inbox of the newly added Gmail account within Outlook it still opens the interface within Outlook for adding and verifying a new Gmail account and it won't complete this process successfully. It just sits there with my Gmail address in the dialogue box and that says at the top "One Account. All of Google" with my email address auto-filled into the box then when I click on "Next" it just fails.
This is really odd because in the past I've successfully connected Gmail into Outlook on 3 of my other older computers (Two are on Windows 11 Pro and one is on Win 10 Pro.) I recall successfully connecting at least one of those computers using the same steps in this video. It's as if Gmail and/or Outlook have recently changed something behind the scenes when trying to connect Gmail into Outlook.

    • @AlvesterGarnett
      @AlvesterGarnett Рік тому

@@BTHDreamer Thanks. I've troubleshot it in so many different ways and I see in forums others having the same issue. I suspect it is something related to the newest versions of Outlook and/or the 15 device connection limit of Gmail. Even though I've removed quite a few old and no longer used connections from my Google account the issue still persists. I'm not keen on paying a lot of money to a shop that's most likely only going to do the same steps I've taken and come back with the same results.

I'm helping an elderly lady with how to use her computer. She's intelligent, but doesn't even know what the different buttons on her mouse are for. For instance, she doesn't know when to left click or to right click. I'm trying to find a computer tutorial for her to help her learn the basics of computers. Do you have a course that starts out with, for instance, this is how to use a mouse?

Some people talk with their hands; you talk with your cursor. Maybe this doesn't confuse anyone but me, but I am constantly trying to keep your cursor in sight. However, you do circles, loop-de-loops, up and downs--energetic movements which make it hard for me to follow you. Sorry for all the comments. If no one else has a problem, just ignore me.
