    Nice work Robert.
    Did you put a black sheet on your parcel shelf?
    I'm not seeing the usual window glare on the rear cameras.

    Interesting the color tone. the A229 Pro and A139, very warm. A119 Mini 2 very cool, U3000 less cool, DR970X, kinda in between, darker image though (not Starvis 2).
    The Thinkware and BlackVue, are ~$600 USD cams. And, imo, the VIOFO A119 Mini2 greatly out performs them and is way more value at ~$120 (seen it as low as $99 on sale).

    Looks like the a119 mini 2 is outperforming both the a229 and a139. The exposure and white balance on both a229 and a139 seemed a bit inconsistent in some places.

      Yes. I'm on a list of people to potentially get units to test/review before their release early next year.

    I thought the newest a229pro would look the best but the mini looks way better. Shame the mini doesnt come in a 2 channel.

      You two guys amaze me with your editing skills.
      It took me 30 minutes to edit that 30 second night time HDR clip of the A229 Pro Rear & A119 Mini 2.

      There's a bit of basic math involved getting the size calculated for each of the videos in the 5 and 4 camera scenes. Not too bad overall. I did have to figure out why the updated Adobe Premiere Pro v24 was running so slow while trying to playback the videos in the editing timeline. For 4K video, I usually have to create proxy files (low resolution versions of the videos) to make them playable in the editing session. For some reason that feature now makes it nearly impossible to play the videos in the editor. I wasted a couple of hours trying to figure that issue out.

      It took me about 2.5 hours to get the editing done for this video not counting the diag time to figure out the issue with Adobe Premiere Pro v24 I mentioned in my other reply.

      @@RetroCarGuy530 I use capcut. It is free and I can edit 4K on it no problem. I would pay for capcut but for some reason I got it when it was free. I also have a mac studio. Overkill but i have only heard the fan turn on once.

    I hate this camera. How do I get it to record a clip longer in a few seconds? Or just one long video for the time

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  8 місяців тому +1

      For VIOFO dash cameras, the length of the normal/driving mode recordings is determined by the "Loop Recording" setting (1 / 2 / 3 / 5 / 10 minutes). If the normal/driving mode recording files consistently only have a length of a few seconds, there may be a problem with the microSD card write speed.

    Viofo A229 Pro or Thinkware U3000?

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  6 місяців тому

      The overall image quality is better with the A229 Pro. Thinkware has promised an updated firmware to address some of the low light exposure issues with the U3000, but it's not been released after several months of waiting for that update. U3000 radar parking mode is one of its nice features to give long running parking mode operations.

      @@RetroCarGuy530 if you had to do again, would you opt for a LTE model camera? Idk if I should get 1 or the A229 Pro.

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  6 місяців тому

      If having event notifications sent to you if an impact occurs while parked are important to you, then a LTE enabled dash camera would be something to look into. Cloud connectivity for the Thinkware U3000 requires a WiFi hotspot to provide cloud connectivity. Cloud connectivity for a BlackVue can be obtained by purchasing one of their dash cameras with LTE built-in or one of their dash cameras without LTE built-in and then using it with the CM100GLTE connectivity module.
