  • In this final episode of our journey around North Wales we enjoy an afternoon with lovely views across Afon Dwyryd to Portmeirion waiting for the tide to come in.
The following day we visit Harlech Castle until a knee injury forces us to cut short our trip and head for home.

P.S if we ever meet, will have to get some drone tips from you, we have been carrying around two for the last few months without a clue how to use them 🤣 Pitiful I know, but we are stumped.

Hi both. Love the relaxed feel of your videos especially as there are no histrionics to get our attention (Do they call it 'click bait'?). I know nothing about the workings of UA-cam, that said, is it possible to put a marker either end where you visit an historic monument so I can skip by? I would rather have the experience of seeing them first hand. If not I will continue to scrub by. I am glad your knee is better and look forward to your next adventure.

    • @LifeistooshortCK

l understand. There is no way I know of putting markers that can be jumped between and the most convenient method is the 10 sec jump backwards or forwards.

I loved your trip around North Wales. I've been to many of those places and it was great to re-visit them with you. I can't wait to see the Isle of Man as I've never been there. On a slightly obscure note, I remember you saying that you both liked softer buns for burgers and sausage sandwiches - I don't know if anyone else has commented on Aldi's Brioche buns. My wife and I love these for sausage sandwiches as they are very soft and have a slightly sweet taste. With Welsh butter (of course) and HP sauce Mmmm Mmmm....ps I'm watching from Swansea

Impressive capture of the tidal flat with flooding back at the moment, the church of St Tanwg‘s looks like the same with Ireland's typical style with the guessing of the root, steep road structure, the condescending castle is amazing creatures by the Welsh craftsmen witnessing the heavy history stories, scenery country road back home, best wishes for the recovery of Ken's knees, bravo finale for the North Wales Peninsula Series.

Although I'm subscribed and should get alerts I have only just found your video in this series. I've seen Harlech Castle from a distance but I've never driven up there. Ithink you're very brave Carol 👍. I'm sorry to hear about your bad knee, although Isee from the comments section it's now much improved. No offence but if you are not aware of doing anything to cause it, it might just be age related wear and tear. I'm sure you're well aware, quite common among retired Coppers. The coffee making scenes reminded me that I have a recommendation for you. I think you would like " Brown Bear " coffee. They sell beans and pre-ground but also two or three varieties in nicely sized coffee bags. I know Ken likes a good rounded strong coffee and you have carted all sorts of kit with you to get a good strong brew. All you need is water and your mug for these. One bag will give you a 12 flavour oz mug. I brew for five minutes instead of the recommended three and I like their Mambo Italiano in the early morning. Complex flavours and no bitterness as long as you don't scald it ( let the kettle cool a minute or two before pouring over the bag, ideally about 90° . Unlike offerings in the supermarket these are in a resealable bag like some beans are in. They do a Blue Mountain in bags too. Google them, I believe they only supply direct. Happy trails both.

I hope your knee gets better quickly and we can join you on more adventures. I look forward to your videos. Regarding the steepest Street discussion, according to the Otago Daily Times, “ the Guinness Book of Records reversed its decision to strip Baldwin Street of its claim to fame...In April last year Guinness backtracked, accepting its measuring method was wrong.” When I was young and we were in a family holiday, I remember my dad driving it. Tonight I have had the Aldi breakfast patties with hash brown and an egg for my tea, so tasty 😊. When we drive to southern Spain my husband suffers with painful knees. He takes Ibuprofen every six hours and paracetamol every six hours, two hours apart. His doctor suggested this and it works for him. He takes these for three days and his pain usually clears. Take care

We are so lucky to live on Anglesey, the area you have visited is, in my opinion the best part of Wales. A very interesting series and interesting to get another perspective on our home. From somebody who earned his living on the motorways of this country my heart sinks now when I have to join one. We look forward to your return, maybe a meet or two with fellow campervaners from the area and take the local knowledge as to places to visit. You would not regret it. Best wishes both.
