    This is an amazing insight! I'm planning to do Art & Animation in college which will be a mix of 2D and 3D art and once I've done 2 years I'll be able to go into 3rd year of University and I'll focus on 3D Environment art because I really want to do that. So thank you!

    This is so informational!! Thank you! As someone who is interested into going into technical art and is a sponge for information, I love how much you cover and how to best break it down. I have a direction in which way to take my portfolio. How did you do the bridge tool by the way? It starts around 17:26.

    Wil you ever create a Tech Art know how/how to playlist? Is it possible to teach beginners ? Where to begin if we want to start making tools for artists on game engines?
    Where do I begin?

    Great video, thanks! I really want to start the blog now - partially for portfolio reasons and partially just to vent about the tech art process, lol

    Do you mind if I ask do you have to work with HLSL or GLSL in your role as a technical artist? I feel like I'm pretty good in most areas except that

    Is there a recommended book for environment artists in Unreal Engine?

    Like the most horrible thing is getting job by recommendation, everyone says to make connections, I am extreme introvert , I do not want connections, I want a job :(

    • @cosmotect
      @cosmotect 2 місяці тому

      You can't make big games alone. Introvert or not, communicating with your team to coordinate work is necessary for success. You either need to force yourself to adapt, or if you have a spare decade, you can learn to make the whole thing by yourself

    • @cosmotect
      @cosmotect 2 місяці тому

      You don't NEED a recommendation to get a job, if you are good, you will get the job. But if you want to go up the ranks, you'll need to be a team player too

    • @Lyco0n
      @Lyco0n 2 місяці тому

      @@cosmotect communicating within team is no problem, and I think I am very good at it, but making so called connections is not and I hate it

    • @cosmotect
      @cosmotect 2 місяці тому

      @@Lyco0n that part is not as important, but it does make it easier to get jobs and have more choices
