Today is #WorldMigratoryBirdDay. 🐦 At this time of year, migratory birds face many threats on their journeys back to their summer grounds - from colliding with windows and glass-covered buildings to being hit by cars. Right now, many migratory birds are being cared for at TWC, receiving much-needed medical treatment and support to recover from their injuries.
From tiny brown creepers to swift ruby-crowned kinglets, TWC’s team works countless hours every day to nurse these fragile birds back to optimal health. Watch a few of these patients get the care they need so they can return to the wild!
We can all do our part to make spaces safer for songbirds by placing visible markers on windows as well as turning off unnecessary lights and closing blinds or curtains at night - especially during migration seasons. Visit our friends at @flapanada to learn more about how to protect migratory birds.
