  • Have you ever wondered what it’s like to volunteer at TWC? Follow long-time Wildlife Care Volunteer Dr. Leanne Casaubon as she goes about a typical day helping wild patients, from providing fluids for a sparrow to preparing an enrichment-filled enclosure for a Virginia opossum.
Leanne has dedicated the last 8 years volunteering at TWC. She has completed hundreds of hours of training, certifying her as a Tier 3 volunteer, which means she’s qualified to perform more complex duties such as tube-feeding patients who can’t eat on their own, and preparing and administering vital medications.
And on top of all this, she generously gives to support the care of patients, including those she cares for! With her unwavering commitment, she’s made a big difference in the lives of thousands of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife every year. This #NationalVolunteerWeek, join us in thanking Leanne and our many Wildlife Care Volunteers for their endless support and kindness! 💚

They say that a doctor is a veterinarian who only treats one species, so this volunteer is broadening her range!

I REALLY loved this video and I am hoping you will do more featuring other volunteers as well. I learned so much and appreciate even more the tremendous amount of care and work that goes into each patient that comes through the doors of TWC.
I didn't realize there were 'tiers' the volunteers work through, but that makes so much sense. I had no appreciation for how many different roles a Tier 3 volunteer has... everything from handling different types of patients, administering different forms of care and even setting up enclosures! I am beyond impressed and want to personally thank Dr. Leanne Casaubon for being such a fabulous and invaluable part of the team at TWC.
These videos are fantastic and so informative; my respect and admiration for the stellar team at TWC only grows with such content as they allow me a deeper understanding of all that is needed to run a wildlife rehab centre. The degree of knowledge, expertise, quality and care I have seen from every rescuer/volunteer/vet featured is nothing short of incredible. Clearly, TWC is living up to its vision and mission and I am proud to be a supporter and donor of this organization. Love you, TWC ❤

I really enjoyed the video except for the loud music that almost drowned out the dialogue. TWC is fantastic.
