    I was a 16 year old guitarist when Diary was released and, like you, I learned to play as much of it as I could. I still play and it warms my 54 year old heart to see a young guitarist digging on the genius of Randy Rhoads almost 40 years later. Keep it up, keep playing and keep Randy alive!

    Maciej's guitar performance aside, as a professional sound engineer and musician myself, I can see how much time he places into matching Randy's sound. People do not realize the work it takes to match this. Truly brilliant in all respects - sound and performance.

    The musical legacy Randy left in his short life is timeless and magical. I still remember when I first heard Blizzard and forty years later I still bow to the king and still get the same blown away feeling I did then with his masterfully gifted riffs and solos. Your playing is phenomenal and I know St.Rhoads is happy you are keeping his legacy alive. ✝️🎸

    After watching this a few times I am starting to realize this is possibly the best Guitarist Videos to date. The reason you don't see many videos of Randy Rhoads work being performed like Maciej has done here is because very few Guitarist in the World would ever attempt to copy Randy's work. Randy has created Riffs and Melodies that are unmatched to this date, his work has set the Bar and I have yet to see his work beat.

    Hard to believe it's been over 40 years since his tragic death. Randy was such a shining example of brilliance. Thank you, young man for keeping the memory alive with such incredible renditions of each of his solos. I'm thinking it's the best replication of Randy's music I have seen, which in itself is the ultimate compliment I can bestow on you. Precise, impressive... I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    I was fully prepared to watch a boring cover video, full of errors that make me wince, skip through it for a minute, then find something to watch. What I was not prepared for however is what I just watched; a completely accurate, and I’m still trying to find out how, but superbly cleanly executed cover that I was glued to the screen for the entire time...I don’t even think I blinked and watched every second of it. From one guitarist to another, I salute you! Very well done. Mr, Rhoads would be proud

    Mr Stelmach, from a true Randy Rhoads addict, I am so impressed by your blazing fast fingers and your ability to play Randy's guitar solos... It is simply amazing... Thank You Very Much for keeping Randy alive for all of us...
    I was 14 when Blizzard was released... I was 17 when a young woman (18) I knew had an extra ticket to my very first Rock Concert - Ozzy Osbourne... It was late '83, just a few months after Randy was killed... There were quite a few people at the show that didn't know about the plane crash, and saying things like, "...Who's this guy Jake Lee??...", and, "...Where's Randy Rhoads??..." It was kinda FUKDUP, but they put on a good show, nonetheless... I still remember Ozzy yelling out "...WHAT IS IT YOU WANNA HEAR??..." From my "nosebleed" seat, I stood up and yelled at the TOP of my lungs, "PARANOID!!!" And I swear on all that I hold as RIGHT, Ozzy looked up and pointed in my general direction, and said, "P A R A N O I D I T I S!!!

      I agree this guy is spot on. I have been following Randy since I first saw him back in 79. I was fixated on him the moment I heard him play. I'm going to be 60 next month. I have searched for the real deal since we lost him in 82, and this guy totally nails it. I have heard some good ones and I have friends of mine that play professionally, Phil Demmel one
      of them and he's a huge Randy fan. But nowhere near this kids skills.@@MaciejStelmach

    Being a young kid at 8-9 friggin years old (and ALREADY being a music fanatic from my surroundings of 70s rock, also a huge Beatles fan, and heavier Priest/AC DC) listening to Blizzard when it officially debuted, I KNEW I was listening to something special and then of course "Diary" as 1 of my ALL TIME favs. And with Randy always being my personal favorite guitarist of that whole scene till THIS day, I have to say "Damn dude....NICE job!!!". As I too, (as read by others responses,) got the goosebumps and then of course, a bit of a tear come up in both eyes as I remember my favorite guitar hero.....right before I regained my composure and the BIGGEST smile came to my face as I know Randy and a NOW recently departed drummer (from the 1st 2 Ozzy releases) Lee Kerslake are both rocking out up in heaven somewheres......Hails n Horns 🤘🤘

  • @robeddy3722
    @robeddy3722 2 роки тому +7

    Interesting fact: Randy didn't have time to complete the solos on DoM. Most of those solos were just "guide tracks" for where a legit solo was supposed to go. They were running out of time to start the next leg of the Blizzard tour and had to send "incomplete" work to the label. I'm sure that bugged the heck out of Randy. Maybe one of the reasons he wanted out?

    • @johnhill762
      @johnhill762 4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, I read that interview, too. Randy said they were solo “outlines” that weren’t actually fleshed out due to time constraints. And it seemed to bum him out, seeing as he was a musical perfectionist.
      Just imagine how the complete versions would’ve sounded.
      And Randy wanted out for a lot of reasons, and yeah, maybe that was one of them. Just poor management. Being rushed, being treated like expendable side pieces (when the band started off initially as a “we are all in this together”, only to become all about Ozzy).
      That… and all the partying Ozzy was doing. Randy wanted no part of it. Complained about it constantly. In fact, Ozzy said Randy’s last words to him were “(With all these drugs), you’re going to kill yourself, you know. One of these days”.
      Randy was deeply disgusted when Ozzy pissed on the Alamo. He thought it was deeply disrespectful, considering it was hallowed historic ground.
      And when other members were fired, Randy would try to use his status to argue for them. At one point, it’s said that Randy got so fed up with Ozzy’s bs that he started a coup - getting all the other band members to join in. Basically going on strike.
      But it was immediately shot down with threats.
      Another story is that Randy was once thrown out in the snow during winter. Fired. On the spot. And just left, without a warm tour bus, to find his way back home. And I guess he was eventually rehired.
      Then obviously as everyone knows, Ozzy punched him the day before he died. “You ungrateful little shit, I’m the one who brought you in and made you”.
      But the biggest thing that pushed Randy over the edge, from what I know, is that Ozzy and Sharon were planning a live Black Sabbath album. And being as Randy hated Black Sabbath, he and Tommy Aldridge felt that they had etched their own personal musical place in already and didn’t need to be covering other band’s material anymore. It was an insult to their musicianship and the integrity of the music they were writing.
      As a result, Randy threatened to leave and Sharon threatened him with lawsuits, considering he was under contract for one more album. So Randy backed down and agree to do the one extra album and then call it quits.
      A sad way to treat such a musical genius. A rare guitar gem.
      But that’s how they treated others, too. Randy’s replacement, Jake E Lee, was also threatened with lawsuits. Lee wrote most of Bark and the Moon and never got his full writing credit. “If you don’t like it, we’ll just replace you.”
      Ozzy and Sharon are two of the most pathetic and sad aspects of all rock and roll history. I’ve never seen such a greedier, more nasty couple than them. And to this day, I’m not so sure Randy’s death was actually an “accident”, considering all the drama that was going down just prior to the plane crash.
      Makes you wonder…

    • @robeddy3722
      @robeddy3722 4 місяці тому

      @@johnhill762 Yeah. According to Rudy Sarzo, Randy considered it beneath him to have to play someone else's music. I don't disagree with him.
      On the other hand, he was likely getting paid pretty well and should have just done it. Maybe he'd still be here today. I don't know.
      Btw, Angus and Malcolm Young were pretty nasty dudes, if you read between the lines. Record label said the singer you have is no good for America. Then, that singer dies mysteriously and another on is ready to go in just a few short weeks. (Just before recording the vocals for the big new album are about to start.)

    I come here every so often to put my attitude in check and witness some masterful guitar slaying. I was a teenager when this album came out and heard them fresh on vinyl. Nice to know younger players are honoring Randy and the old Ozzy stuff!! 🤘

    I've been on this sentimental journey with my childhood and this was the most inspiring thing I've come across yet. I still have this album, bought it when it came out and it's still my favorite. At the time, we relied on magazine articles so Randy was somewhat of a legend and a mystery. There was nothing that sounded even close to this .This album really reflected Randy's growth as a guitar great. Such a tragic loss. As Lawrence said, 40 years later, this is very heartwarming to see. You did a great job and it was fun to watch.

    As said below, those of us who are 50-somethings now were teenagers when this came out and Randy was such a force of nature to behold. Those of us who took up the guitar only imagined we could ever play such incredible things and for many of us it is still left in the imagination. It is obvious you have practiced very hard to master these amazing guitar solos. Bravo! I could only ever get to Hendrix and Gilmour with my skills. Maybe Lifeson on a very good day for me. But Randy was a whole different level of skill I could never achieve. Probably it has made them seem even more amazing. And they still sound just as amazing 40 years later.

    I saw Randy Rhoads play five times and I filmed the famous New York Palladium late show concert. I’m also a guitar player.
    You are one of the great guitar players I have ever seen in my life and to be able to break down all Randy’s stuff like that is a great accomplishment. At 20 years old you are a monster! and it makes me happy to think that the next generation will have a great guitar player like you to keep the metal going on.
    Randy used to use heavier gauge strings and you might want to look into that if you really want to get technical about Randy’s tone because you’re so close the .10 string gauge would really put you over the top.
    All the best. Al

    i've seen many a player over the last 40 years or so try to play Randy and everyone of them puts in a little bit of their style into the solos, and while that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's also very refreshing to hear someone play them pretty much as Randy had intended. Well done mate. I will remember your name and be keeping an ear out for you in the future. Bravo!!

But watching your covers is probably the closest I’ll ever get to seeing them played live and correctly . Truly amazing playing .
