That’s an awesome Maxima! I had a 1997 Infiniti I30T and my brother had a 1995 Maxima. They were awesome cars. You just don’t see many of them on the road anymore though sadly. Both my I30 and my brother’s Maxima started having pretty horrible rust issues around 2014 or so. I think rust was the biggest killer of these 4th gen Maximas by far.
In 1996, a family member of mine bought one with the manual transmission, BOSE system, and the white faced gauges, and gray cloth interior. I was only a kid back then, but I thought it was so fancy. That car made me fall in love with Nissan!
I have a pearl white 1995 maxima GLE. Love it. I added more electrical ports. And changed out the center dash for a 98 model with a flip top and larger drink holders. Great cars for the money.
Hey guys, just a little update. Yesterday I took the Maxima to a local dealer to get it aligned. They ran the VIN and found out it is not an SE Trim it is actually a top of the line GLE trim. Made my day! Thanks for watching, more to come soon!
SE is top of the line. GLE is the luxury version of the base model GXE. SE model has the white gauges like yours does. GXE and GLE has black gauges. The dealer was incorrect. SE has the sport suspension and the amazing (optional) 5 speed manual. You’re lucky, you have a 1996 Nissan Maxima SE. Look it up, GLE was automatic only and has black gauges.
Cool. I have a 97 Max GLE finished in Rosewood metallic. 233,xxx miles. Still going strong. Did control arms, tint, t7ne up and I&n filter. Next is coilovers. Cheers
This generation maxima was super reliable and always preferred the looks of this year. I have owned 2002 Nissan maxima and regrettably it was not a manual. That car gave me a lot of trouble and gave it up at 179k. While that happens, I still see 1996 nissan maxima. That should tell you something. The five speed manual 1996 nissan maxima it is something I have always liked. I have driven my friends 1996 maxima with 5 speed and it was a blast to drive.
Dude, you just made my moms night watching this video. She still owns her 1996 Nissan Maxima 5-speed manual and she adores it. Seeing another one almost like hers just brought a smile to her face :))))
Oh I’m so glad! This is one of my favorite vehicles I have owned! I am going to be making much more content with it soon. Tell your mom she has a good taste in cars! I appreciate the feedback!

@@mynameisjonas7967 mine is past 200k, so for me the goals is keeping it running for as long as possible. Also mine is automatic which means the transmission will go faster than yours. I need to bleed the steering and transmission fluids but keep pushing it back.

Greetings from the Philippines bro! Wow! That condition is MINT! Here in the Philippines, it's called "Cefiro" more like the infinity version because of the luxurious interior. Nice ride! May I know the price range of that maxima in your state?
Thanks for watching, I love the car! I have never seen a car like mine in my area, they are extremely rare because they rust to pieces in the winter time. I store this car and only drive it in nice weather. I would want close to 6 thousand for this car if I ever sell it just because I know it’s probably the nicest and only one in my area for a very long ways.
I have the same year 1996. I have one problem; The check engine light is constantly illuminated. Took it to a mechanic who said the sensor is not available due to the age of the vehicle? You can't be serious.
@@junzhang2087 Maybe. It did have a cracked windshield when I first got it. I sadly don’t own this vehicle anymore, wish I still had it. I am looking to get a project car again soon. I actually recorded a short video today that I will be uploading soon. It’s been awhile haha.
@@mynameisjonas7967 alright, I was just checking because my dad has one and we are trying to check the computer but it’s not recognizing. @@nicholasm4974 I am not sure , I think 1996 (or around that time) was the first year for OBD2. If you have another scanner to try, maybe the one you have is not recognizing the computer.
