And in another ending Aya basically becamelike her father when she grew up, drawing people in and making them into dolls. And her mother is another one who was driven mad by her love for madfather, and also her loathing for madfather.
I know everyone hates Maria, but I actually really liked her. She was such a sad character who had severe Stockholm syndrome and if you choose correctly, then she does the right thing and helps Aya in the end. I really don't see why everyone dislikes her so much. xP

I mean, in the supposedly "good" one where Aya lives, she ends up carrying out the same work that her father does, so it's really only good for her and Maria, and no-one else. The one where Aya becomes a doll is good for the father, as he lives and gets what he wanted, to make Aya a beautiful doll, and also gets to continue his work as well, but is bad for Maria as he most likely leaves her to bleed out and die. Probably (in my opinion), the best ending is (possibly) the ending where you don't save the Father, as the mother gets what she wants...kinda (I mean Aya does end up turning into a doll anyways, but...at least she's with father, right?), the father can no longer cause anyone harm, Aya can't bring anyone harm either (it's pretty heavily implied that Aya abuses snowball and other animals, thus the many snowball-replacement corpses, so Aya isn't very innocent herself here), which leaves only Maria.....I don't THINK she'd continue doing the doctor's work, as his work was just to make Aya into a beautiful doll. I feel like Maria felt she owed the rest of what life she had left to Aya for helping her escape from her father, who had shown his true colors and left Maria to die after injuring her. Also Maria never turned Aya into him?? It was hinted at throughout the entire game that Aya was already like her father. Her drawers were full of dead animals, and she was caught playing with the mini chainsaw as a kid. And at the end of the game she took her fathers book with her that was the study on human anatomy...That's why at the end when Aya is going to turn that girl into a doll, Maria looks so sad when she says she's just like him.
Cookie-Squirrel actually Aya had a potential to be f-ed up which was why her father not wanting her to become 'dirty' (stain her hands with blood.) decided he would turn her into a doll. So yes he wasn't 100% evil because he did care for his daughter because he didn't want her to become like him but he was lacking a few pieces so he decided to turn her into a doll when he noticed her sort of following after him. It was also hinted that her mother encouraged her psychopathic tendencies (giving her the chainsaw, reading her story books which all had a dark undertone. etc.) which was why her father and her mother argued a lot. So you have a mother who wants her daughter to be like daddy (kill people) VS. A father who was insane and did not want his daughter 'stained' and was willing to kill her to prevent that. Which was also why his victims' ghosts knowing what direction she was going were either going to kill her or send warnings hoping she wouldn't go down the same path of her father.

Well, Aya loved Alfred because he was her father. You can´t hate your father...never. Maria because he was the only one that showed her mercy and, later, love...besides, Maria needed someone to be with and the only man in that mansion was Alfred. And Monika...well, she loved Alfred as a wife can love her husband and she wanted to be happy with him and their daughter as any married woman wants to be. Don't you think? I don't hate Maria, I just dislike her. If you got the mothers side of the story you would see how she died. I won't say it was Marias fault but she did play a big part in it. She slept with Dr.Drevis, Mrs.Drevis confronted him and he killed her blaming it on her sickness and told Maria to help hide the body thus ending the life of Aya's mother which was sad. I think Maria didn't want to hurt anyone, she just got caught in the moment thinking that Dr.Drevis loved her enough so she listened to his every command.
