- I went through every UFC champion from Jones to Pantoja and selected the threetoughest matchups for them out of everyone in the division. This doesn't necessarily mean they beat the champion, but would put up a really good fight. Let me know your thoughts

@@muhammadshuraim6175 Kamaru would’ve been Khabibs hardest fight around 2020-2021 when he retired. Islam beats anyone in 145. I think he beats most people at 170. So Leon being his biggest test makes sense.

I disagree with a lot of these picks aside from Heavyweicht. For me it’d have to be.
LHW:
1. Nikita Krylov, good striking fight IQ and the grappling to hold down Alex or finish him on the ground
2. Magomed Ankalaev, the best wrestler in the division with good kicks but not great fight IQ
3. Aleksandar Rakic, probably the most well rounded 205er with good grappling and fight IQ
I disagree with Jiri, since he holds his hands very low.
For Middleweight I’d have to say
1. Jared
2. Izzy
3. Fluffy Hernandez, it’d be interesting to see how Dricus does against a very tough well rounded guy who can push the pace on him. Since dricus often puts a pace on others)
For welterweight I appreciate you putting JDM at #1 since Leon’s big issue is the jab, and JDM can destroy him with that straight. So I’d have to say,
1. JDM
2. Shavkat (use the straight similarly since I don’t love his takedown entries against someone like Edwards)
3. Belal (jab + good wrestling) so I agree with your welterweight picks.
When it comes to Lightweight I think
1. Arman Tsarukyan
2. Max Holloway (featherweight skill with good ability at keeping space and cardio could conceivably drown Islam even tho I doubt it)
3. Ilia Topuria (could catch Islam but does his worst against wrestlers from what we’ve seen)
And featherweight I think
1. Max Holloway (of course)
2. Movsar Evloev (good wrestler but not enough finishing instinct to really present a threat)
3. Sean O’Malley (weak to body shots and counterable but could give Ilia some issues with his range) I think that Arnold Allen is too chinny to really give Ilia issues.
Then
1. Umar Nurmagomedov (can hang in there on the feet and take O’Malley down with much better finishing instinct than Merab)
2. Sandhagen
3. Merab (just don’t think O’Malley is a good matchup for Merab honestly)
Flyweight I think it’s
1. Steve Erceg (will beat Pantoja IMO)
2. Kape
3. Royval
Oh I guess I would put Islam at #1 for welterweight since I think he beats Leon

Topuria is a much bigger threat to Islam than Gamrot. And Arnold Allen is no threat to Topuria. And honestly I dont see Topuria vs Holloway being 50-50. Topuria is better in all senses. Not saying holloway is not a threat he is a big threat but it's not fair saying its 50-50. The biggest threat for Ilia is Islam. But still I think Ilia knocks him out. Islam will get knockout sooner or later but that is a fact. We've already seen it once. And you know what happens after you get knocked out once. You just have to find his chin.
PD: I liked the Chandler mention. He is very explosive and unpredictible He could really find his chin and defend well on wrestling.
