Every major commentator has their flaws, whether it be their actual commentary, bias or something else. In this video i highlighted the biggest problem with each of the major commentators in the UFC. Let me know your thoughts and opinions on this and if you agree. - Спорт

My biggest issue with Rogan is that he over exaggerates everything “he’s such a monster, one of the scariest men on the planet” doesn’t mean anything when he says it about everyone, also someone lands 1 leg kick and instantly he’ll say “that leg is compromised, look at that swelling”

Anik isn’t a colour commentator he’s a play by play lead, his job is to describe what’s going on and ask the other commentators for their breakdown of it
I know. That criticism doesn’t make sense. Same with the Rogan one. A commentator’s biggest flaw is that they don’t commentate enough 😂
well keep in mind the whole purpose of the video is just pointing out the weakness of every commentator, he's not saying anything bad about anik but that's his only weak spot so I see why that's what he went with

Anik is honestly my favourite one. He’s always well educated on the fights despite being the least knowledgable of the commentators

I’m not hearing the Anik slander. There are two combat trained athletes with him in the booth every time to do the breaking down. He is by far the most prepared and composed commentator in main stream MMA.

I think I heard Joe Rogan say “Alex pereira broke ngannous record on the power punch machine” at least 10 times through the pereira hill intro and fight.
Your critique of Anik is pretty weak, and you explained his role within it. He has other commentators who were actually fighters to provide the kind of insight you said he lacks. He's an excellent play-by-play commentator and the best voice the UFC has.
The video is the worst thing about every ufc commentator. He's not saying anik sucks, he's just saying his worse quality.

@@bloccbuster9220read my comment again. I didn't claim that Hopper said Anik sucks lol, just that his critique is weak. Anik's worst quality imo is the fact that he brings up irrelevant info sometimes. However he is a big fan and related to fans so even that info has merit.

Rogan is a legend and i respect everything he has done for the sport but the guy just cant stop exaggerating things, especially the effect of calf kicks. Like anytime a person takes more than like 2 calf kicks joes gonna have an aneurysm about how "his left leg is swollen" he said that in the max vs gaethje fight in the second round and max continued to fight orthodox for the whole fight.
That leg was fucked max pain tolerance just different but I agree with you
@Ace-zx9sb he said on Joe's podcast that it didn't effect him. He says he knows it's gonna hurt the next day but in the fight he says he's fine

Laura Sanko has become my favorite oddly due to never annoying me. Everyone else has at least once.
She lacks hype, but she brings in knowledge like no other commentator, by far the best analyst. So I think her downside is you gotta pair her up with a hype man like rogan

Saying Cruz has bad takes because of the internet meme of his comment on the McGregor fight is silly. Sounded funny, but he meant McGregor had no option but to hope Khabib gassed out.
That Anik point was a stretch, John Anik is a Play by Play caster/Host and Joe Rogan and the rest are Analysts/Color casters. Not everyone needs toe do the same job, it just becomes redundant.
Anik is doing such a good job it's difficult to find flaws in his work. Well done.
This was quite an exciting video, but you know what's more exciting? That time Michael Bisping showed up on short notice and KO'd the Luke Rockhold that refused to touch gloves before the start of the fight

Joe Rogan LOVES to talk about swelling on someone’s leg and how DISGUSTING 🤮 it is, even when you can hardly see it. Like he was raving about how gaethje fucked up max’s leg and yeah, he kind of did, but it wasn’t Aldo vs Faber. Holloway never stumbled backwards because of a kick or anything and yet Joe Rogan insists on freaking out about it

Bisping’s bias doesn’t extend to all UK fighters. Mostly Aspinall, Till, Arnold and Craig. He seems pretty luke-warm on Leon, doesn’t like Paddy and barely mentions anyone else.

Not Felder? Felder is one of the best imo with Anik.
DC is clearly an empath and quite reserved guy, that’s why you don’t see him celebrating someone just folding someone.
I think anik is still underrated. His job isn’t to break down the fight but when the other commentators get stuck in their biases and commentate from a very biased perspective anik’s knowledge really comes out since the situation calls for it.
This video really needed to be made. I can't overstate how shamelessly DC glazes wrestling and wrestlers in the MMA sphere.
Rogan is a special attraction to UFC so of course he isn’t commentating every event. How can you miss something if you always see it?
Also why are a commentator’s “looks” relevant? DC is a commentator, they are there for narration and audio centric lol

Anika’s job isn’t to break down what’s happening in the fight. He’s the play-by-play, so he’s supposed to be the “narrator” while Rogan/DC/Felder/Bisping/Cruz are the ones actually breaking down the fights.
I'd like to see more of Laura Sanko commentary tbh, she did really well on Strickland vs Adesanya
Anik: nothing, he's perfect
Rogan: repeats the same points a hundred times per fight
DC: gets too giddy during PPVs with Rogan, turns into a glorified podcast
Bisping: makes irrelevant points relating to himself
Cruz: same problem as Bisping, plus he doesn't understand the scoring criteria
Felder: can be biased towards his teammates
Sanko: nothing, she's perfect
Gooden: perfect
Fitz: perfect
joe rogan occasionally sounds strangely sad/disappointed when a stoppage happens “it’s over 😐”
They each play a role Jon Anik is the facilitator he is the play by play guy and his reactions a top notch
i think objectively dc is the best commentator just because of his fight experience, he been wrestling and fighting at the highest level his whole life. sometimes his tips for the fighter to win are stupid, but he’s rlly smart and a funny guy

Next time talk about the smaller commentators man, talk about Felder or Sanko, make a longer video, we'd like the hear the take, or at least I would!
John Anik does his part always and i also do not agree that he doesn’t break down fights he just doesn’t engage in detail breakdowns becouse he has other stuff to say like promos and other announcements.

Non american fans, how do your rate your local transmission? I like the Brazilian one, Demian Maia and Minotauro are good commentators and André Azevedo is a great caster
I don't really have an issue with DC not having some crazy reaction every knock out. I'd prefer that over him just exaggerating and screaming just to give the cameras a good clip every single time
I don't see the point. They made sense for when radio was the only thing. It's fine to have the option for commentary if you want it, but I wish there was always a choice to just see\hear the fight itself. I want analysis after the fight because people have time to watch stuff over and over and make sure of the analysis. The UFC released a cool video recently with footage and the fight audio, it was amazing, I loved it. It really sucks that we can't hear the fighters talk to each other and the impacts nearly as well as the UFC has recorded, their mix sucks so that they can sell audio ad space.
I don't like when any of them say the judges had it wrong, becasue in most such cases they (the commentators) have it wrong. The most legendary in this aspect is Rogan's parade of post-fight interview stupidity at UFC 282, but it actually applies to all of them.
A LLM trained on past event could take over Rogan’s perch. He’s extremely predictable in what he’ll say, and rarely insightful. He was a really good commentator in the early days, but it’s the personal relationship w Dana that keeps him on air now.

My minor inconvenience is when the commentators don't say "round" and instead say something annoyingly colorful like frame, stanza, paragraph, inning, period, quarter, stage, era, slice, gob, etc. That is the pebble in my shoe. That is the sesame in my molars. Title fights are five rounds, not five stanzas. Arrgh!!

It’s not a popular opinion but I’ve never really liked DC. Something about the guy is just “off” to me.

Anik is severely overrated imo. I'm not saying he's not a good commentator, but he's surrounded by really bad commentators which makes him seem better than he actually is
