Thank you for putting this video out. It's challenging to share such intimate experiences outside to the open world. I am atm 35 yo and I am planning this too. My family cannot understand why I didn't do it in my 20's so I perfectly understand when you said that this needs to be done when you TRULY feel it's the right time FOR YOU. Wishing you all the best!
Gosh, thank you for this. 🙏 I was nervous editing this video, because it's vulnerable, but it feels SO GOOD to know my story resonates with you. I hope you have a wonderful experience when the timing is right. ❤️ ❤️
Congratulations on your pregnancy, Priska! I’m thrilled for you! I agree, the ignorance of the health community regarding hormonal health is truly astounding.
Thank youuu! 🥰 Yeah, hormones are like the Wild West, and hopefully things change, because my story isn't a rare one. In the meanwhile, I hope this video helps to inform women of their options and side effects.
congratulations, I'm really sorry to hear what taking birth control did to your body. i'm so thankful that my mom was very anti normal medicine practices and warned me about taking birth control, so i never did. i think its great that you are spreading awareness about it. whishing you and the baby all the best :)
Thank you so much for sharing your story of physical and spiritual healing and growth. I wish I had heard these stories 15 years ago, before birth control destroyed my health. I’m so grateful that through God and amazing health providers I’ve come through it and have two beautiful children.
Ughhh, I'm sorry to hear your journey was hard. But thank God you were able to heal & have children! 🙌 I wish I had this opinion, too, back then, so hopefully the message gets spread far and wide, and women have the necessary information before choosing their path.
I’m so excited for you! Huge congrats and well wishes! After hearing so many stories like yours and my friend having a terrible health issue related to bc, I decided to read “taking charge of your fertility” which opened my eyes to so much information that I was ignorant about before. I’m now off hormonal bc after years, using FAM for bc and never looking back. It’s extremely sad how much the medical field lets women down in this respect and the lack of education we receive about our own bodies, but I’m grateful that more women like you are sharing stories and preventing some younger generations from going through the same things. Hopefully mainstream medicine catches up soon.
Ahh! I read that book last year, and OMG why didn't I know about FAM a decade ago?! I'm definitely planning on using FAM for future fertility planning. I'm seriously tickled to know you've read that book! 👏 🙌
Aww buddies! I'm pregnant for the first time, in my 30s too, I think maybe just a little behind you :) Can't wait for pregnancy style videos!! Ooh actually, looks like right around the same time!! I'm in my 12th week
Congratulations. This is wonderful news. I had two girls. But very rough pregnancy with both. I wish you all the best. It is the most true form of love seeing your child. ❤
Aw, how sweet! 🥹 Sorry to hear your pregnancies were rough. I've heard girls are harder to carry than boys, because of the extra estrogen, but I don't know if that's always true. 🤷♀️
Hehe! You got me. 😊 I really did have a cold, but there was a week in February that I had to skip, because of pregnancy symptoms. I'll elaborate more in next week's video.
PRISKERSSSSSS!!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AH, YOU SHARED THIS A MONTH AGO AND I'M JUST NOW SEEING IT??? GOD IS SO GOOD! AND I'M CRYING. YOU DESERVE IT MORE THAN ANYONE. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW JOURNEY! EMBRACE THE BODY CHANGE :)
Awwww thank youuuu! "God is so good" is the phrase that has shown up all throughout my pregnancy. His timing is so perfect. 🙌 Thank you for your excitement, Kim! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Wow, Priska, I’m so happy for you! That’s wonderful news! And thank you for sharing your story, so that more women get inspired to listen to their bodies and needs. I also see a functional medicine doctor and I’m so grateful for that holistic approach…! I wish you all the best for your pregnancy, looking forward to follow your journey❤️
Very true that there’s little awareness about birth control. It’s just something you did. I feel like there should be more knowledge and discussion about the birth control pill and the possible effects. This would allow women to make a more informed decision either way. Thank you for sharing such a personal story. Much love to you, baby, and Daddy. ❤
Precisely!! 🎯 We can't really give informed consent if we aren't well informed, and I can positively say that the 4 gynos I've been to as an adult did NOT inform me. Google did. Experience did. Non-GYN practitioners did. I just hope this message spread wide so women know the information that's vital for their long-term ability to have children. ❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I am just starting my own journey to conceive (also had no heartbeat on my first scan 😔 during covid ) but I am so grateful for the abundance of information available to me! This saved me from ever taking hormonal birth control, just used ovulation tests each month to avoid getting pregnant… £20 for a pack of 50 so it lasts about a year. I’m sure I would have ended up on the pill in high school as well if I was 10 years older …I am so happy for you!! Will be nice to follow your journey ❤
I didn't even know about ovulation timing until last year!! 🤯 That would have been so helpful as an adult. I'm planning to use ovulation tests for future family planning. I wish you all the best on your journey, too! 🙏 Try to not get disheartened -- disappointed, sure -- but don't lose heart. Keep your focus on your desire for children. ❤️ ❤️
Congratulations!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Amazing news! What a blessing to you and your loved ones 💘 I'm so happy for you! Side note: what is a functional medicine doctor? How do you find a good/reliable one? Would you be willing to do a part 2? I'm also curious how you "fixed" hydration issues, because it sounds like it's more involved than just drinking a ton of water lol
Thanks!! 🥰 🥰 Let me elaborate. Drinking water alone won't resolve dehydration. I didn't know that!! 🤯 Water has to have minerals and electrolytes, and because we purify our water, it removes both. Of course, we purify our water to avoid bacteria, so I would still recommend it. But you can add in electrolytes -- or just salt -- to hydrate properly. Also, the idea that we're all supposed to drink "X oz." of water is untrue. I started drinking only when I was thirsty, and I cut my water intake by 1/3. However, I eat lots of fruits and veggies, and those are primarily hydrating. It really depends on total lifestyle: diet, exercise, climate, etc. But yes, I would love to do a Part 2 if everyone wants to hear more. 😃
Oh, I just realized I didn't respond to your first question. Functional medicine focuses on healing the *root causes* of pain & disease, not just the symptoms. I found my functional medicine doctor at IFM.org. There are lots of practitioners, so you can be picky about what you really want.
@@PriskaJordan wow, thank you so much for following up AGAIN! I honestly figured it would all be covered in a follow up video, so didn't think too much of it 🤣 But thank you so so much for answering AGAIN 🙏
Oh such great news, congratulation!!!! 😍 Thanks for these good bunch of informations! So personal too.. Wish you all the best!! Have no fear and enjoy your pregnancy ❤
My mother was classified by her doctor as a ‘habitual aborter’. Her body would attack fertilized eggs and kill them resulting in miscarriage. She took drugs (I don’t know what because she never told me) to stop it from happening. She had 3 children but about 5 miscarriages that I am aware of - including twins. She almost bled to death with the last miscarriage after youngest sibling was born. The doc told my dad either get fixed or lose your wife if she gets pregnant again. Her issues were genetic as 64 years ago OB-GYNs didn’t have all the stuff they have now and even c-sections were rare.
That's almost impossibly hard. Your mother must have extremely high mental strength -- not to mention what she went through in her body time and time again. But thank God that you and your siblings were made it through that. 🙌 ❤️
Congratulations on your journey for a healthy life and baby Priska. 🥰❤🙏 I had 1 child (daughter) at 25 and it was a difficult birth for us both - but she was healthy and looked at me as if to say ‘It was warmer where I was, put me back’. 😂 She is a blessing to me and has given me 3 grandsons. ❤ May you and your hubby continue to be blessed. @@PriskaJordan
Wow, I just found out I have the same issue (also in my thirties). Which herbs did your doctor recommend? I'd love to suggest/ask about those to my doctor instead of using more hormones.
Well, if you have an MD, I highly doubt they have any education on the matter, and they can't recommend something that isn't in their normal protocol. But the main herb I took was white peony, which worked wonders for my period regulation. At the worst, I was having 17 day cycles, and at the longest, it was 40 days. After several months of herbs, my cycles were regularly 28 days.
Congratulations ❤ it's somehow funny, I was "knowing " it or at least, guessing it 😊 I don't know why but I was waiting for this video and I'm not surprised! Can't say why ... maybe the look.jn your face? However, I'm so happy for you! ❤
I'm tickled that you had your suspicions! 😊 I've definitely looked pretty bloated this year and have been feigning being energized. Thank you for your joy! 🥰
An "unacceptable answer" is usually the one we do not want to hear, the one we actually NEED to hear. We're not always ready for this kind of news, but I would not discount what a physician tells you just because you're emotionally not ready to accept the answer. For some reason, women blame themselves for these things, but this is the way the human body works. It's not some universal joke meant to hurt you, or something you made happen, it's biology. Not every egg is viable and that's okay. The body sheds what is not right for it. It's logical, not emotional. Not to discount the emotion around it, but once you understand the human body, you understand this and you can better deal with it. And ...now the time is right! It is wonderful news!
This comment saddens me, because it highlights how the lack of care in healthcare has become normalized. Even if it’s too much to expect the doctor to show a bit of unrushed gentleness when delivering heartbreaking news - and I don’t think it is - I think it’s reasonable to expect the doctor to provide the proper information for me to give informed consent. The exact convo went something like this: Doctor: Your baby is unviable. (And moments later) I recommend you take a pill to miscarry. Me: What are the chances I don’t miscarry naturally? Doctor: I don’t know. Me: Can you find out? Doctor: This is just the protocol we have. Me: That’s not enough information for me to decide. Doctor: Well, I’ve seen the worst case scenario, and you could lose the ability to have kids. Hopefully you can see how this is an unacceptable response, both emotionally and logically.
@@PriskaJordan Ohhhh, ok. Well now I understand -that conversation certainly went poorly, that is quite awful & it sounds like you were not provided with the necessary information about what was actually happening, nor in a gentle way. Miscarrying is hard enough as it is, but when provided with little information in a cold way makes it much worse. I suppose knowing so many women's stories about this, and how it went as well as it possibly could, it surprises me. I should not assume others have a proper experience, or even know much about this topic and the complications of reproduction/pregnancy. I have a firm belief that if we were taught about our body's anatomy and physiology from kindergarten on, we would have a very different reaction when things go wrong with our bodies. But also, compassion around delivering bad news needs improvement.
Thanks for listening & understanding. I’ve shared the details with close friends, and some of them have had similar experiences, so I know it’s not as rare as it should be to have poor patient care & information. I wish I was surprised by it… Also, I couldn’t agree more about how we need better education at a young age about our bodies & reproductive health. My “sex ed” class was taught by my high school’s baseball coach… 🫣🫠 I so wish we had a more formal way of teaching young women about their bodies. Maybe UA-cam will be a valuable resource for the youngest gen. 🙏🏼
