I bought mine in 2004, have had it for 14 years and it still goes gang busters. I have owned two Mitsubishi's. This one I bought brand new, and a 97 lancer 4 years later while I was living in Australia. Both cars have great engines and no problems (The Carisma had a manufacturing problem that got taken care of and since then no problems) Regretted selling the Lancer when I left Australia, but after owning two, I can highly recommend Mitsubishi's to anyone looking for a cheap drive and reliable car at a affordable price.
hey friend can you help me? I am trying to change my cabin air filter but I don´t know where is. Usually in mitsubishi car is under glove compartment but in mine not. Do you know where is it? If you could help me I would be very grateful

Plus: Surprisingly good balance. No understeer no oversteer. (Although I think this was just a lucky hit by Mitsubishi. Certainly not over engineered or something) Minus: Road noise inside the car is biblical.

The back of the car has multi link suspension so it's not rare to see it stable, also this car was co-developed with Volvo so they definitely know how to make that car feel stable and secure
Unfortunately. It should be categorized as hatchback, since liftback is actually a hatchback. Sedans in europe are quite rare. As rare as sedans are also Carisma Diamante (or something else on D).
Krzysztof Tritt sedans are not rare in Europe. Maybe in your country. But in the Netherlands there are plenty of sedans. Plus, over here both the hatchback and the one in the video (sedan) has been sold.

My dad still has his, I'm getting it when I am 17 I always do little mods for him to make his drive more enjoyable, lovely car
So 10 years later you still have it?

Just got one as my first car, I love it! No rust or anything, it's held up fantastically
It was my first car as well, it did 300 thousand Km before finally giving out.
@@clanku2.010 Think mine is around 250 thousand km right now. Still works fine but the yellow engine light lights up when you drive long distances.
My dad had one for 7 years and never missed a beat. Great car.

i thought with renault, because all the diesel engines are from renault..
The 1.9 diesel was a renault engine that's in both the carisma and s40 and the gearbox is renault on both those cars too
@@lingling4551diesel engine was from renault, the f9q, the petrol engine,4G92 in this case is from Mitsubishi

The basis for the Volvo S40 I think.
When the hooter does not work and the 2 right windows and back left don't work...is it normally a fuse problem or something more serious..???
Im looking to buy this model but with 1.3 petrol engine.?
Is it good and reliable as 1.6??

@ Well they really did manage with this one because I drove it like an absolute beast and there just wasn't any oversteer nor understeer. 😆
There is also the Mitsubishi Carisma in Israel, in my country.
It says: "Konnichiwa!"
Is this a good FIRST car?
my dad had one planning to buy one if i get a good job and turn 18
I've had it for more than two years and still wondering does it have lamp for reserve fuel.
Same I also have that car and I never saw rhat lamp light up because I fuel up early
@sharkou662 I've managed to find the original manual, and there isn't a dedicated fuel reserve lamp
Proton Waja@Impian also using this chasis
volvo s40 also use this platform... big benefit for proton waja itself in terms of safety, design, handling and so on...

I think that the optional heated seat thing were actually coin holders.
Nice video!
fairly certain Volvos were never based off of a mitsubishi
in fact I thought the Volvo s40 was based off of the ford mondeo

what a stupid key for such a ni ce car!
Who cares? The car is only like 900$. Not worth to spend much money on.
