Fr Richard has his own unique way of describing reality in a way that many people think St Francus of Assisi and the order of Franciscans were far removed from. But just like all other groups, there has been divisions in all the other sub groups of Franciscans. Fr Rohr is able to speak using the ancient abused word "heresy" in a way that does not threaten but makes a person examine their own self on a subject and try not to judge others, which is the attitude that leads to persecution and torture, killing of others who are unacceptable to the ones in Power. Today, many Anti-Psychiatry groups, those who call themselves Psychiatric Survivors do and have in the past compare, the Malleus Maleficarum Manual of the Spanish Inquisition to the Psychiatric Manual of todays modern world known as the DSM Manual. This is undeniable and has led to the declaration (unofficially) by the United Nations that all Psychiatric treatment voluntary and involuntary is "Torture". Dr Thomas Szazz well known from the official start of the DSM (statistics were collected previously), eventually declared that there is nothing in Psychiatry that does not involve "Coercion". Coercion is defined almost always as "Torture" by the Federal govt of the USA, whether it is used legally or illegally.
