Wow, I didn't know they were from GA. I thought they were a local choir. Were you in this video when they were singing? We really enjoyed it! Morganton is not very far from us, at all. In fact, our church is near Morganton.
The screening part is new to me. My husband and I stopped to see it and don't remember exactly what year. We were coming back from a Hog Rally in Atlanta Georgia on the motorcycle and decided to see it. I was in total awe of the massive estate and seeing the grounds on a motorcycle was that much more exciting and it seemed like it took forever to get back there. I'm glad I got to see it when I did . My husband passed away 8yrs ago.
@judithgalloway2238 So very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. We are very glad you got to experience this memory together. I don't know how long they been doing the screening, but yes, they are pretty tight on security.
Beautiful. Thank you SO much. I'm in central SC and used to have season passes. I'm a lover of gardens, and know from experience that things change throughout the year. There is ALWAYS something to see. Flower time in April and May is a must see. Tens of thousands of tulips are breathtaking. It's my favorite time of year. Christmas is the time to see the house and not much else. We always ate at Deerpark Restaurant which is the renovated rustic stable for the cows during harsh winters. The buffet is beyond description! Also, at Antler Village, off by itself near the animal area is an old Mercantile and ice cream shop. Well worth checking out. If I only lived 1 hour away, I'd have yearly passes again. This video was very well done and made me miss this beautiful place. I always dressed in period clothes when I went. People thought I worked there! Thanks again. I hope you go in the spring and film the flowers! Merry Christmas!
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experiences there. We may very well try to see it in the Spring. We did go into the Mercantile and the ice cream shop at Antler Village. I had to cut a lot of things out, since this video was so long anyway. Thank you so much for watching, and Merry Christmas!
Oh, what a treat you gave yourself! There’s nothing like Biltmore at Christmastime, Especially if you ever get lucky enough to be there on a day when it’s snowing! Simply magical! I truly hope I get to see it again someday just one more time, but fear my heart failure will prevent it. Not giving up hope, though! And I love to eat at The Stable Cafe and go into all the shops! 🙏❤️
Absolutely enjoyed this video tour. We have been to the Biltmore House once but never at Christmas. We wanted to go there at Christmas but when we got there to buy the tickets it was way too expensive and we didn't have the extra money along on our trip, so I really appreciated you taking us in with you. The house looked absolutely stunning and spectacular with all the candles, trees , decorations and Christmas lights. The choir and live music just added to the elegance of tjis special event. The Messiah is my favorite. That was thevbest music evercwritten in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this experience with us and for giving us the opportunity to see, enjoy and experience the Biltmore House at Christmas.
It certainly is expensive. The house was magnificent, and we thoroughly enjoyed touring it. If I were to go again, it would definitely be at Christmas. The choir and the ladies playing the music, really set the tone for the evening. Thank you for watching, and y'all have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks so much for having this on TV. I’m from Asheville North Carolina but I live in Michigan now when we went back in 1967 or 68 you could go in for $.75 a person nothing is like it is now there wasn’t all the eateries and all those things you can only go maybe 2 to 3 rooms the garden there’s nothing there all dried up. They have really improved it and made it more beautiful. I don’t see how but they did. It brings back a lot of good memories. thank you so much! My mother also worked at the Vanderbilt shirt company over in the town of Asheville. And the few pictures that we have of that, of course are in black-and-white .
You are very welcome. We are glad that you liked the video, and that it brought back fond memories to you. It sounds like they have really made some improvements over the years, and they certainly do charge more now. But I am very glad we got to experience it.
Been to Biltmore many times. Every trip was just as exciting as the first. Was able to take my mother before she passed. A yearly trip with mother was a time of enjoying each other, reflecting back and loving our one on one time together. I miss her still everyday. Love you mom.❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
@debbiehoward1644 Yes, especially the area right outside the gate before you enter, was devastated. Several restaurants are demolished. They did a lot of work to get it ready. Like you, I was born and raised in North Carolina, just over an hour from there. Been by there hundreds of times, but never had been to Biltmore until the other night. So glad we finally made it!
Gorgeous. My Mother and I made a trip to Biltmore many years ago. I want to visit at Christmas. I lost my dear Mother in late September, but have such fond memories of our trip there!
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I am sure this is a very difficult time of year for you. I hope you get to visit at Christmas. It is beautiful. I am glad you have wonderful memories of your trip there with her.
@Rose-zz2hz Thank you so much! It's really neat, that you get to work there. Do you work at the actual house, or one of the shops adjacent to the house?
Before your video I had no desire to visit. But definitely would go at Christmas if I have the opportunity. Loved hearing the choir . Music they chose was some of my favorites. ❤🎄
Yes, the choir fit in perfectly with the occasion. We really enjoyed the entire experience of touring the house. Christmas is a beautiful time to do it.
@melody7689 I had the same thoughts. I never really had the desire to visit but this was so beautiful. The earlier carols that you just don’t hear as often anymore were wonderful and many of my favorites. My mom taught me to enjoy beautiful music of Christmas and of all seasons.
I really enjoyed the video you guys did a fantastic job filming I’ve been there three times and have enjoyed Al three times so again thank you for you sharing the video God bless and have a Marry Christmas and wonderful New Year’s

Thank you- it was beautiful and I appreciate your personal commentary. Being from Pennsylvania don't know when I'd get the opportunity to see this home but it's been on my to-do list. God bless y'all and my best wishes for peace this Christmas 🎄 season. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate you watching, and are glad you enjoyed the video. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and God bless!
Thanks for sharing. I was there many years ago and was so impressed. My favorite memory was the library. I imagined how they felt looking out over the land. The view was beautiful!
@brendahorn4782 Yes, we agree with you about the library. That was our favorite room in the entire place. It was very, very beautiful there. Thanks so much for watching!
Asheville is my where I grew up across from the estate. The Biltmore House is always beautiful, but Christmas time is so spectacular. Hope you enjoyed your visit. Safe travels and God bless. Continue to pray for all affected by Helene.
Yes, we absolutely continue to remember those who are having to face the winter after losing their homes, etc. Such a devastating thing to happen to the people in these mountains. I did not realize that you grew up in Asheville. Thank you for sharing. Do you still live in North Carolina?
Great video. I have been to Biltmore once but never at night. I missed seeing those Monets, thanks for showing them. The conservatory is such a gorgeous place. Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for taking us along.
You're very welcome! We loved our tour of the Biltmore. The Conservatory was amazing, as well. If you ever get the chance to go back, we highly recommend doing it at Christmas.
THANK YOU so much for the FANTASTIC video tour of Biltmore, a place I will never be able to visit! The banquet hall & library were my favorites. Also loved the conservatory flowers and large plants! Blessings to you & all who read this for a Glorious Holiday Season!!!❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
We are so glad you enjoyed this tour of the Biltmore. Yes, those were my 2 favorite rooms, as well. The Conservatory was amazing, too! God bless you and yours, and have a very Merry Christmas!
That large open area overlooking the mountains is where they have concerts and do a flower display quilt covering the entire space. I always wanted to go at Christmas, so thank you. 😍
Since you live so close, you really need to be a passholder. There is so much more to see and enjoy than just at Christmas and in the winter months. I live under two hours away and visit about 6 times a year. Antler Village is much more than what you were able to experience in the cold. There are trails, bike rentals, a winery tour, etc. The Chihuly exhibit is stunning at Deerpark. There is also horseback riding and tours in and around the estate. It's expensive to go for just one visit, so the 12-month pass is the way to go to experience each season and what they all have to offer. I very rarely do the house when I go, but I do enjoy the walking trails and the lush gardens in the spring, summer, and fall months. Thank you for your tour video. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanx for this. I didn't have to see the goodies and get fatter. I didn't have to figure out how to get around with the wheel chair. I got to enjoy it all.
I have been to the Biltmore House 3 times in my life, once at Christmas. I may never get there again, so I do appreciate your giving me an updated look-see. It seems to change every year. I think that paved over area on the side of the house may have been the swimming pool at one time. I think it had been filled in. But I'm not 100% sure. Maybe someone else has a clarification. I'm happy that you were able to visit at this beautiful time of year. Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you both.
That may have been a swimming pool at one time. I know they had an indoor pool downstairs, but they may have had an outdoor one, as well. We are glad that you have gotten to visit those 3 times, and that you enjoyed our video. Thanks for watching, and Merry Christmas!
Thank heavens it didn’t take a heavy hit from the Hurricane Helene..so much has been lost ..the history alone you can’t replace..beautiful and so elegant!! I pray I make it to see it one day!!❤❤
Very nice video Memory Makers. We hope to go there soon it is on our bucket lists of places to visit. You shared a lot of good information as well as great video. We enjoyed this very much. Merry Christmas.
Thank you for watching! I hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did. We would love to hear how you liked it, when you get to go. Merry Christmas to you both!
@@CarolMoore-ej5ipYes, we actually asked ahead of time before we went, if we could video. They said that was fine. A lot of other people were taking pictures with their phones, and probably video, as well. I'm not sure why they didn't allow it then. We wanted to make sure of that before we paid the admission charge to even go. We would not have gone if we couldn't make a video.
Wow! That is impressive, that you live in Oklahoma, and have been there more times than we have...LOL. You must have really enjoyed going. We live just over an hour away, and have talked about it for years. Thanks for watching, and we are glad you enjoyed the video! Merry Christmas!
My husband and I went to Biltmore in the mid nineties, it was the Christmas season, at that time there were no shuttle buses, I remember it cost us $53.00 each. So much has changed according to your video. We did tour the winery , it was very interesting. Thanks for sharing. (We live on the East coast of NC, we are about five minutes from the back gate of Camp Lejeune.)
Yes, a lot has changed since that time, including the price. It was something we were glad to finally experience. Christmas is definitely the time to go! We are glad you have gotten to experience Biltmore at Christmas.
We would like to go in the Spring when everything is blooming. Honestly, the winery doesn't interest us, but we would certainly love to see the gardens growing. We're glad you have gotten to be there and experience it.
Thank you for the tour. I'm legally blind and I was looking with my magnifier. Thank you for showing me. I've always wanted to go there. God bless show
It was very beautiful. Filled with lots of interesting history. First time I've seen it thank you for sharing. I have a walking disability so I really enjoyed your video. Merry Christmas❤❤❤
Isn’t that place so impressive? I love it but haven’t been in years. It was so much more beautiful at night. Loved all the Christmas lights and their music. Made me very sad as I just lost my mother a few weeks ago and I miss her so. Holidays are hard especially first ones after a death. God Bless you both. I’ve been a little down lately and haven’t been watching or commenting due to this.
@DonnaAnders-w4d We completely understand. We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom, and I know that it being the holidays, makes it that much more difficult. You are in our prayers for God's comfort and grace.
I want to read about the history of the family at some point. It's amazing isn't it? I bet it smelled so good with all the fresh stuff in there. I want to thank both of you for showing it to us, it is a gorgeous place. ❤❤😊
@cathymcgee1674 I had a little bit of that in the video, but to be honest, I had to cut out a lot. The video would have been almost 2 hours long if I had kept everything. I cut out the Antler Hill Village, and also a lot of the things that you had to do a lot of reading on. But all of those are available online. We are very glad you enjoyed this video. It truly is a magnificent place!
This is so beautiful. I always wanted to visit the Biltmore estate. Especially at Christmas and in the afternoon spring when the gardening is going on. I like how they take manuals and tuck them into baskets and change them out when they die off. I always wanted to try that approach to adding flowers around the house. Thank you for sharing.
My mom and I always love to Biltmore Estate house very beautiful 😍 Mom got 3 times and I got 2 times visit. ❤❤❤ Remember that summer 2017 mom and I went to Biltmore Estate house. No allow flashing light 📸 in house. My iPad take can make many pictures and not use flash light. Limit small purse size but don’t allow backpack 🎒. I know all times rules. Wow it’s so beautiful Christmas lights in house. ❤❤❤ We’re never visit yet. 😢💔
Happy to come along with you. I can't travel, so this was a real gift. I think I would have liked to see the rooms with the lights on. Can you share with us the admission prices?
Thank you for watching and enjoying the video. We had a discount code for living in Western NC, and our total was $272.86. It was $20 off each ticket during the week until 12/19. I'm going to share the link from the Biltmore page about the ticket pricing. It varies with the day and month you plan on visiting, so I hope that will answer your question about the admission price. www.biltmore.com/visit/tickets-pricing/?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiY7qxYStigMVDnR_AB1r_DUOEAAYASABEgJGt_D_BwE
⚜ Wow! Unless this shuttle ride is just at Christmastime, we used to could drive right up to the front of the house. I parked right there, in front, and walked a few steps to the door, just like an 'ole friend of the family. Sadly, so many things are changing, and not always for the best. I wonder, did you happen to hear the adding machine sound, coming from a 2nd floor window? I did, and thought about how amusing it was. Wasn't sure if it was a sort of joke play on "money" or if indeed, someone was actually, up there, adding up "the take" for the day.
We didn't hear any adding machine. I don't think you're allowed to drive up to the front anymore. They have 5 parking lots, the first 2 of which you can walk to the house from those. The other 3 are a little further away.

@@NCMemoryMakers ⚜ Aww, that's too bad. It would appear that the family has not only lost a certain amount of cordiality, but a degree of humor as well. Perhaps, it's all, in an effort to appear more professional. Merry Christmas, Memory Makers! BTW~ I grew up in NC, until the age of 19.

That's very interesting. Since this was our first visit, it is nice to hear about the changes that have occurred over the years, from others who have been there before us. Thank you. And I love your channel name, by the way!
My husband and I have been twice but not at Christmas. The first time we went The tickets were $17 each. 🤭 The place is AMAZING!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! ❤️💚
WOW! $17 dollars? I wish we had gone then...LOL. It is WAY higher than that now. But we have talked for years about doing it, and definitely wanted to see it at least once. Christmas is definitely a beautiful time to go.
Make sure you go to The Biltmore Legacy in Antler Hill Village. This is kind of a museum. It has the fine china, Edith's wedding dress, Napoleon's chess set, etc. It is included with your ticket.
PS: The route through the house changes regularly so that it's not always the same thing. The terrace to the left of the library is used for summer concerts. I saw The Beach Boys perform there when they were on the 50 year anniversary tour. What a concert! If you follow Biltmore, a concert series schedul is posted in the spring. I love the concerts there. Seating is limited, so all seats are great! I had the time of my life!
Hey, have yall ever been to magnolia gardens Christmas lights in Orangeburg area. It is quite beautiful drive and walk areas. They have free times to go if you check their website.
According to their website, it states: A visit to Biltmore House includes multiple floors and several flights of stairs. Because of the historic architecture, only the First and Second Floors are accessible; guests with limited mobility may ride the elevator between those two floors. Guests who are unable to go to the Third Floor and Basement may visit our designated Second Floor rest area and watch a video of the rooms they are unable to access. In accordance with limited access in Biltmore House & Gardens for guests with disabilities, we offer a reduced-price admission ticket at the Reception & Ticketing Sales Center. For more information please contact Guest Services at 800-411-3812.
The house itself was fine. There was a water line that is visible on the building as you enter into the estate property. Many of the restaurants just outside the gate of the property, were completely demolished. The trolley driver said they did a lot of work getting it ready for guests again.
@@tikitiki7610 Yeah, ok. I hope you feel better, now that you've gotten that off of your chest. I am speaking to people who are watching the video today, not the 1890's.
So interesting you all had never been. But I lived in Chattanooga for years before I finally went to Rock City. Not that Rock City is as good as Biltmore. We used to go to the SoCon Basketball Tournament in the '80s when Asheville was nothing. Not like that anymore. BTW not a huge fan of Grove Park Inn mainly because of the rooms. The public areas are great. Merry Christmas
We haven't been to Grove Park Inn yet, either. But we have talked about it. Just curious about what is wrong with the rooms? We have actually been to Rock City twice, but it has been years. I remember thinking then, that it was a really good value for the money. But I don't know what the cost is now. I'm going to look it up, but back then, I remember it being under $20. Yes, this was our first time going to Biltmore. We've talked about it for years.
@@wandasmith2511 I'm not sure I'm understanding what it is you're trying to say. But you certainly didn't rain on our parade. We had a wonderful time. Nothing changes that.
I know, but what I'm telling you, is that we called ahead of time and told them we wanted to do a video for UA-cam, and they said that was allowed. There were no restrictions on what we could or couldn't record.
Okay, you need to learn how to talk to people with respect. If you want to make a polite suggestion, then make it. But do not come on here with "Do not...". We take polite suggestions, not orders. The video was already almost 2 hours long, so I did what I had to do, to make it short enough to watch. The signs are readable, and you're the only person to say they couldn't read the signs. You can also pause your TV.
You have not posted a single video on your channel. Why don't you show us how it's done? By the way, we take polite suggestions...We don't take orders.
@rhondalewis6689 Actually, it was much more than $90. Perhaps the regular rate is much cheaper than the Christmas rate? Whether it's justifiable, is up to the individual person, I guess. I can certainly see why some would feel it isn't justifiable. But it's something we wanted to do at least once.
Didn't you see the pictures of children with their hands tied & hanging in that empty pool. That house is demonic. I'd prefer Grove Park Inn in Ashville.
Thank you for taking us with you. I never would have seen it if it wasn’t for you two. Thank you again. Donna MIchigan

Beautiful! Got to go as a kid, thank you… merry Christmas 🎄 2024
@@xxcountry4064 Merry Christmas to you! Thank you for sharing your memories.
That large open area overlooking the mountains is where they have concerts and do a flower display quilt covering the entire space. I always wanted to go at Christmas, so thank you. 😍
@OlysZoo You're very welcome.
And that makes sense. Thanks for the information. I was wondering what that area was used for.
Thanks for watching!
We are very glad you enjoyed the video. We are considering maybe going back in the Spring when the gardens are in bloom.
Thanks for watching!
Thanx for this. I didn't have to see the goodies and get fatter. I didn't have to figure out how to get around with the wheel chair. I got to enjoy it all.
We are so glad that you enjoyed watching the video. We appreciate your comment.
Merry Christmas!
Beautiful place. I've never been there at Christmas but I have gone a few times in the past. Thanks so much for sharing.
You're very welcome! It is beautiful at Christmas.
I used to work there in the office. The family members are so nice and diwn to earth. Loved it
It sounds like you had a wonderful experience there. Thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas!
You need to go back in the spring or early summer to see the rose garden in bloom. It's gorgeous.
@@lorihendry6802 We may do that. We'll have to see how it goes.
Thank heavens it didn’t take a heavy hit from the Hurricane Helene..so much has been lost ..the history alone you can’t replace..beautiful and so elegant!! I pray I make it to see it one day!!❤❤
You are correct. Areas just outside of the property, were demolished. The house itself seems to be in good shape.
Very nice video Memory Makers.
We hope to go there soon it is on our bucket lists of places to visit.
You shared a lot of good information as well as great video. We enjoyed this very much.

I have been there it's beautiful. When I went they wouldn't let anyone take pictures. And here you are doing a video. Thank you
@@CarolMoore-ej5ipYes, we actually asked ahead of time before we went, if we could video. They said that was fine.
A lot of other people were taking pictures with their phones, and probably video, as well. I'm not sure why they didn't allow it then.
We wanted to make sure of that before we paid the admission charge to even go. We would not have gone if we couldn't make a video.
@NCMemoryMakers Thank you. I'm glad they allowed you to do video, I really enjoyed seeing it. Merry Christmas to you

I’ve been to Biltmore House a few times, but never at Christmas. It’s gorgeous in Spring when the azaleas are blooming. The winery is wonderful too.
We would like to go in the Spring when everything is blooming. Honestly, the winery doesn't interest us, but we would certainly love to see the gardens growing.
We're glad you have gotten to be there and experience it.
I would love to make it out there someday. Thanks for sharing this!
You are very welcome. We hope you make it there soon! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the tour. I'm legally blind and I was looking with my magnifier. Thank you for showing me. I've always wanted to go there. God bless show

Please go in the spring. The tulips and daffodils are absolutely beautiful
I'm sure that is also a nice time to go.
Been there 3 times, Every time you go you see something different. The only thing I can say about this place is WOW!!!!!!
Yes, "WOW" is the word I would also use to describe it. It is a magnificent place.
You are very welcome! Thank you for watching!
My mom and I always love to Biltmore Estate house very beautiful 😍
Mom got 3 times and I got 2 times visit. ❤❤❤
Remember that summer 2017 mom and I went to Biltmore Estate house. No allow flashing light 📸 in house. My iPad take can make many pictures and not use flash light. Limit small purse size but don’t allow backpack 🎒. I know all times rules.
Wow it’s so beautiful Christmas lights in house. ❤❤❤ We’re never visit yet. 😢💔
Sounds like you know all of the regulations. I'm glad you have gotten to go with your mom. It is very beautiful at Christmas.

Not much I can do in dark rooms.
Did you try increasing the brightness on your television?
Bolt ore is a lovely place wish I could visit sometime.
We hope you get to. It is amazing.

You guys look very festive too❤
Thank you! We like to dress in Christmas colors this time of year.
It’s very interesting. The exhibition room is different from 30 years ago. It had creepy paintings on the wall. It was like Halloween.

That's huge ❤
Yes, it is the largest home in the US.
Cameras and videos don't do this place justice. You need to experience it yourself, people!❤
That is true. It is much better in person.
Make sure you go to The Biltmore Legacy in Antler Hill Village. This is kind of a museum. It has the fine china, Edith's wedding dress, Napoleon's chess set, etc. It is included with your ticket.
This trip is from last week. But yes, we did walk through the museum.
Ive been there...I loved it but sadly it wasn't at Christmas Time. I think it wasnt all open then. It was long ago. But I want to go back.
@@doriskrieger9263 Christmas is the only time we've ever been, but it is beautiful.
Especially on the inside
Yes, the inside was beautiful!

Is everything handicapped accessible?
According to their website, it states:
A visit to Biltmore House includes multiple floors and several flights of stairs.

Can you elaborate?
Just looked at the pricing. Wow! Too much for us. UK a lot cheaper for stately homes. Buckingham Palace $90. Thanks for the video it looks lovely.
We would love to see Buckingham Palace.
Yes, the Biltmore is very expensive. No denying that.
I could hear the the phone perfectly
Yes, it did turn out pretty well. I wasn't sure when I was doing it, but heard it later.
Thanks for watching!
So Helene didn’t affect the estate at all?
The house itself was fine. There was a water line that is visible on the building as you enter into the estate property. Many of the restaurants just outside the gate of the property, were completely demolished. The trolley driver said they did a lot of work getting it ready for guests again.
Is this a hotel?
No, as we stated in the video, it's the largest privately owned house in the United States.
Hang out in the billiard room!! ha!
What is funny? That is what the room was for. You didn't hear the recording. I did.
@@NCMemoryMakers the syntax doesn't belong in the 1890's
@@tikitiki7610 Yeah, ok. I hope you feel better, now that you've gotten that off of your chest.
I am speaking to people who are watching the video today, not the 1890's.
I live about 10 miles from Biltmore House.
Nice. You're very convenient to it when you want to go.
Sorry if I rai ed on someone's parade but there wasn't the color or organization. The building itself is awesome!
@@wandasmith2511 I'm not sure I'm understanding what it is you're trying to say.
But you certainly didn't rain on our parade. We had a wonderful time. Nothing changes that.
I was meaning the house
I know, but what I'm telling you, is that we called ahead of time and told them we wanted to do a video for UA-cam, and they said that was allowed.
There were no restrictions on what we could or couldn't record.
You went by the signs too quickly! Do not show them if you do not want us to be able to read them.
I don't see how ur allowed to video anything bc that place is copyrighted
We called ahead of time, and they said it was fine. And they saw us doing it, so there was no issue.
Its awesome but at $90.00 ÷ its just not justifiable
@rhondalewis6689 Actually, it was much more than $90. Perhaps the regular rate is much cheaper than the Christmas rate?
Whether it's justifiable, is up to the individual person, I guess. I can certainly see why some would feel it isn't justifiable. But it's something we wanted to do at least once.
We've been to Biltmore several times, once was for the day time tour, I agree, every one should go at least once, we only live 2 hours away
Didn't you see the pictures of children with their hands tied & hanging in that empty pool. That house is demonic. I'd prefer Grove Park Inn in Ashville.
What on earth are you talking about? There were no pictures like that there. Good grief.
