Love the place. Our church group goes there in December for lunch and it's good too. The breakfast looked awesome. Everything looked beautiful with the snow. Started out great for 2025 on your video. Loved it. ❤❤😊
We love going to Boone and this is always a stop during our trip. Never had the breakfast there because I enjoy cooking a big breakfast from the cabin, but the lunch/dinner menu is very good! Hoping to get up that way soon!
We have enjoyed the Daniel Boone Inn for many years, the breakfast looked great as usual and your review was great!! Loved seeing the snow on the ground really makes a perfect background for the review especially this time of the year.😊
Cinnamon rolls and Orange juice is a gut grenade for me!! Nope! Country ham is my weakness! LOL! All of that food looked absolutely delicious! Thanks for sharing another great video!!!
Dan'l Boone Inn looks beautiful snow covered. It's been years since we have been here. Carly was small when we were there. So we are guessing at least 10 years. We have had it on our list to go back to and thought we would visit in 2024 but we just haven't made it back to that area. So maybe 2025 will be the year. I agree that it is a decent deal for family style that includes refills on juice too. Thanks for taking us along with y'all to Dan'l Boone Inn!
You are very welcome. We live just down the mountain from it, and y'all have been there since we have. It has been at least 20 years for us. But we've been talking about going back for a while now. Let us know if y'all make plans to get to the area.
We have been there several times to eat. We never ate breakfast there, only lunch. My favorite things that I had there were the country ham biscuits and the mashed potatoes. I thought that the food was really good. I enjoyed this review. I am looking forward to another great year of adventures and memories..
Went there in Dec for my birthday meal with my parents. We had lunch and it was so good. Would love to go for breakfast sometime. It takes about 2 -2 1/2 hours to get there, so don't go often. It has been well over 10 years since we had been. Most family style restaurants near us have closed.
Glad you got to go for your birthday back in December, and that it was a good experience for you. The breakfast was really good. We do need to try to go back for another meal sometime, just to see if it's better than I remembered it being. What I'm remembering, is that the fried chicken I had was pretty dry. But he could have just been that batch.
@@NCMemoryMakers hope you can make it and try it again. I enjoyed my chicken when I was there. We did get there when they first opened, I don't know if that would have made a difference or not.
I told my husband you two would be headed to Boone. We go sometime after church for lunch. A little bit of a drive, but enjoy the scenery. My husband likes the country ham biscuits, which you can not get seconds of those at lunch. You can take home your extra chicken or biscuits. You just wrap them up in napkins, they will give you, and get a bag for your food, where you pay. I do not like cold weather either, but my husband does. Glad you had a safe trip and a good breakfast. Looking forward to your new adventures. God bless.
@patriciahurley1867 Yes, anytime there is a snowfall and we are around the house, we take a short drive up to Boone to enjoy it. We decided this would be a good day to go to the Daniel Boone Inn, as well. I did not know that, about not being able to get seconds on the ham biscuits at lunch. Glad we were able to for breakfast.
@traceymcclintock6942 It's neat, that you were so close to it, that you could pretty much walk over there. I imagine there's quite a line sometimes. Happy New Year to you!
That looks like a menu they can maintain good quality control over. They don't overdo it. No omelette bar, eggs benedict, etc. Just simple. I'd love to visit here. Only been to Boone one time -- for the Grandfather Mountain Marathon back in 1993. It started at Kidd-Brewer Stadium when it had a running track and ended at the Highland Games. Very difficult course with a net elevation gain of around 2600 feet as I recall. The proverbial bear jumped on my back at around mile 10. Thanks for another great review. You all are the best.
Thank you for your comment. That does sound pretty challenging. I think the bear would be on my back way before that. Yes, this is a good place to eat breakfast. The last time I went for supper, I wasn't overly impressed. But that's been a long time. We will end up going back at some point and trying that.
Thank you so much for your reply as it helped me understand your format. I appreciate your honesty and understand your swallowing issue as my mother has the same problem. Your meal out is an excellent time for verbal catch up and that is only between you, your wife, and friends and I would not like to be filmed during that time either, not to mention the technical issues. Hope you both enjoy your time in Morganton. I would love to know where you are going to review as I have visited many area restaurants.
@bethevans1037 Thank you for your response. You were very kind and polite, and we appreciate that. We have had a handful of people, basically rake us over the coals for not filming the entire meal. I always try to get across the point that, while we are doing these reviews to help, we don't solely exist for entertainment purposes. We are actually a husband and wife who enjoy our time together, and decided to share a glimpse of that with others. Thank you for the way you responded. I don't mind telling you where we are going. It is Bones Jones. Just outside of Morganton, but we've been there twice already. Her birthday is coming up this weekend, and she absolutely loves the prime rib there, and that's where she wanted to go this weekend. So, Lord willing, that's where I'm taking her. And on my swallowing issue, it actually happened in this video. If you notice where I first take a bite of the eggs, the clip ends, there's a cut, and then another clip. I had to cut that part out, because the eggs got stuck. I normally don't have a problem with scrambled eggs, but I did that time. I think I took too much of a bite. Fortunately, I didn't have to get up. I just had to force it down with some juice. I've had that problem for years, and it's kind of embarrassing.
Thanks for the invite guys. I’m from the south ( Tennessee) and I’m more of a breakfast person than any other meal. Wanted to see what y’all are having for breakfast.
Yes, by the time we set up the camera and record our thoughts on each item, the food is starting to get cold. And sometimes, we have people complaining that we don't show ourselves eating the entire meal. We wouldn't get to enjoy anything if we did that. But when we got a second round of a few items, it all was very nice and warm because we didn't take time to record it again.
We love going to Daniel Boone Inn. Went twice in one week last week. My husband prefers their breakfast and I prefer their lunch. Always delicious and such great friendly servers.
@deborahmoore1111 I want to go back for lunch, since it's been such a long time...over 20 years. What I remember last time, was that my fried chicken was very dry, and the country style steak was so-so. But that could have just been a bad day. I really did enjoy the breakfast.
Love watching your reviews as I live in Morganton. One thing I would like to see is you both eating your food through the whole meal instead of watching a half episode of the reviews. Those of us who watch these types of reviews do so to see the foods being consumed. The image of the meals inspires me to be more creative and that is lost with the quick camera shots. Watch J L Jupiter as an example. This not a negative review, just an observation. Love North Carolina!!
Thank you for watching, We are glad you enjoyed the review. I know that some reviewers do it that way, but we prefer not to. Everyone is different, and has different preferences. We are trying to be us, and not anyone else. I'm just going to tell you why we don't record the entire meal... First of all, we are paying for our meal, and we want to be able to enjoy it. And when we have to set up a camera and show us eating it all the way through and giving commentary, our food gets cold, and we don't enjoy our experience as much. Plus, these meals out, are actually our time together, to maybe discuss things that we don't want shared on camera. We are bringing a review for the benefit of the viewer who may want to try the place, but it is still our time together. We are simply sharing a portion of it with the viewers. But we are not doing this for anyone's entertainment. We are doing it so that they can see what the restaurant looks like, and decide if they want to try it. We are giving our own personal opinions and experiences, and sharing with others. Showing the entire experience, also adds a lot of length to the video, which can cause loss of viewer retention. And that is even more true in my case, for the reason I will give later about my swallowing disorder. I have to eat and chew more slowly than the average person who does not have this disorder. We feel the same thing is being accomplished, by sampling every item, showing it to the viewer, and then commenting on whether it's good or not. And then we talk about it some more in the closeout, if anything changes. I honestly and truly do not see how watching us take more bites, can increase one's creativity. We do show every item, and we do so pretty clearly. A viewer is free to pause the video at any point. And on the other hand, I personally do not enjoy watching people eat or hearing them chew. I know that there are a lot of people who also feel that way. That's why we try to show a little bit, for the people who want to see it, but be considerate of those who do not. Also, as I've mentioned in numerous videos, I have a swallowing issue where I get food hung in my throat sometimes. Therefore, that is not something that I want to do when the camera is on me the entire time. When that happens, I either have to try to force it down with drink, or I have to excuse myself from the table and go to the restroom. And if that happens when I'm recording, I'll have to edit that out because I'm certainly not letting anyone else see it. We have talked about it, and we feel that we are doing it the way that we should be doing it. We are showing the food and sampling the items, and then giving a commentary. We do not wish for people to see us eat our entire meal while we are chewing, getting food on our face, etc. In fact, I addressed this very issue recently, in our Chili's "3 for me" video. If you would like to hear us discuss our reasons, please check out that video. But we have watched several other reviewers, and all do it differently to varying degrees. We are unique individuals, and we are doing what is comfortable for us. And many people have let us know that they think we have the right balance in that regard. I honestly do not see what is accomplished by letting the viewer see us take 10 bites, as opposed to 1 or 2, except for making the video extremely long. And as I pointed out earlier, some people do not like to watch others eat. I'm one of those people. Again, thank you for watching, and we hope you will continue to do so. We will also be doing a video from a Morganton restaurant this weekend, that we have done a review of before. And while we will be reviewing, this will also be our time to celebrate her birthday, so the camera will not be on the entire time. But we will still give a fair, honest, and thorough review.
Love that place. Havent had the breakfast but had several lunches and suppers. The country ham biscuits are very good. I love the lazy susan tables too. If you guys have a video at the farmers daughter in Chucky Tennessee i have missed it but if not its another family style restaurant thats very good.
@heathwest3718 We don't have a video from the one in Tennessee yet. Maybe one of these days we'll get over to that section. So glad you enjoyed Daniel Boone Inn and like the video.
Breakfast looked delicious!!! But...where's the hot coffee???🥶 I see your snow arrived, fingers crossed we get some that actually sticks in GA. Have a blessed weekend you two❤
Breakfast was really good. Neither of us are coffee drinkers. I'm sure they had it available, though. I wish we had gotten snow at home, but they did get it in the mountains. It's a short drive up there for us to go see it.
Never had breakfast there but did have supper. It was delicious. It was even better that my brother paid for it.We couldn't take nothing with us except the ham biscuits and we ate them for breakfast the next day.Grest place to eat!😊
Here's a thought. . .always remember to bring your glasses with you so you can read things. I don't think I've ever seen you wear glasses. Your wife does and she looks good. Even David from VAfunseekers wear them not often mind you. Anyway, love your channel and have you ever taped a cooking video at home with a dish of some sort? Don't get me wrong or anything but I'd like to see ya'll make a dinner, appetizer, snack, something homemade. It'll be cool. You can do it. I'm sure it won't happen but, I can dream one day you will. 😊
I do bring glasses with me, when I'm in a restaurant with a menu, that I will have to be reading. Since I already knew that wasn't the case here, I knew I would not be needing them. I wasn't anticipating a gun display to be inside of the restaurant that I would need to read, and it wasn't that big of a deal, anyway. I showed it for the viewers, to give them an idea of what is inside the restaurant. I didn't really need glasses in this setting. And I doubt I would have read all about the guns, anyway. Shawnasi wears prescription glasses, and I do not. I only wear cheap readers when I need to see something that is very small print. My distance vision is still pretty sharp at 55. So, I wear them long enough to read a menu, and I take them off. That is why you don't generally see them in any video. I have, in fact, forgotten about them and left them on top of my head, in a few videos. We have not done a home cooking video. That would be up to Shawnasi, and whatever she wanted to prepare. The cooking I do, is normally grilling, and we have shown that.
Up outside of reading pa there's a school district called Daniel boon school district and I think he lived in Pennsylvania for a little bit to because you see signs for the home he lived in up there
We are currently sitting by candle light, due to power outage. We decided there’s no better thing to do than set our camera up on the tripod and catch up with our UA-cam friends! Great videos!!! Thanks for sharing 🤗
The cinnamon rolls are actually cinnamon biscuits. They switched the mix they used for those a couple of years ago and they haven’t been nearly as good since then.
Been there several times. Although it's been many years ago probably. Great food absolutely delicious. Two other places in Georgia that the food is just as good are ... The Dillard House in Dillard, Georgia and The Smith House in Dahlonega, Georgia. And of course in Tennessee The Apple Barn. GEE... I am getting hungry just thinking about those places. lol...
We have video reviews of all 3 of those other places...2 of The Smith House, 1 of The Dillard House, and 2-3 of The Apple Barn. Honestly, I would put all of those ahead of this place for lunch/supper, although to be fair, I need to go back and try it again. The breakfast was good, but the last time I was there for supper, the chicken was dry. I think The Dillard House and The Smith House, both have amazing fried chicken.
I saw that video I live on the border of Lancaster and Chester in Pennsylvania I can get to a shady maple in about 20. Minutes I can. Get to Lancaster in about 30 minutes I drive amish around on the side up in the area to
We really enjoyed our trip up there. We did several videos in the area. We met some nice Amish folks and they took us on a buggy ride, and allowed us to film. We also were in Hershey, and visited a Biblical tabernacle in Lancaster.
Hi Derrick, wow when you showed the outside it looked like a winter wonderland, so pretty. I used to watch Daniel Boone back in the day lol. That spread was nice looking but I can’t believe they don’t accept cards, who carries cash these days! Hi to Shawnasi :)
@nicolesydneylife That is unusual, but there are still a few local places around that are like that, requiring cash. I'm just glad we had checks, because we were not carrying enough cash to have paid for the meal, and I don't like to use an ATM because of the fee. They do take a personal check, but I'm not sure if that would apply to people from out-of-state who are visiting. We live in the next county, so we didn't have a problem. But I was not aware they had that policy until we got there. Glad you enjoyed the video in the winter scene. And I will certainly tell her that you said "hello".
@nicolesydneylife Not exactly a suburb. It's basically like areas divided up within a state, that each have their own government. Kind of like how the United States is 50 different states, in one country. I know that probably doesn't make much sense. Basically, North Carolina has 100 different counties within the borders of the state. I'm not sure what you call your divisions in Australia? Are the larger areas divided up into states there, or are they called something else? I'll see if I can find a map of North Carolina, showing the individual counties, and send it to you in an email.
@ yes that would be great for an understanding. Australia has 7 states which are covered by state government. I live in the state of New South Wales which I guess would be cut up into your version of a county. My county is Sydney which is then broken up into suburbs.
I would say it's similar. If your state is New South Wales, and it is divided up into subdivisions, that would be pretty much the same thing. I had Shawnasi to send you a picture on Facebook Messenger.
It was warm when they brought it out. Like I said, that is because of filming a UA-cam video. Not the restaurant's fault. When they brought out the 2nd round, everything was hot.
Still amazed that it is year 2025 and they still do not accept credit cards Apple Pay etc. family of four would be over $100 not many carry cash anymore . We had to scramble up cash from all of us to pay cash when we went . Did not know till got there that is was cash only
Thank you so much for that valuable comment. I don't know how long that has been since you were there, and as I said in the video, we didn't care for the lunch as much as the breakfast. I would not describe it as "yuck", though. Sorry your experience was not as good, but the breakfast there is not "yuck".
Looks to be? Tell me when, exactly, you ate at the Daniel Boone Inn, to make that comparison. If you haven't, then you don't really have valuable input.

Very nice place. Your breakfast looked very delic
@cathybriggs5846 It was really good, and a great deal. All you can eat, for $16.95.
What a beautiful place...and the food great especially for the price.
@sb-ux5lq Yes, we thought that was a very fair price for all that you get.
Breakfast looked delicious!!! But...where's the hot coffee???🥶
I see your snow arrived, fingers crossed we get some that actually sticks in GA.
@@jeffwalker8101 We really enjoyed it, too. We are glad you had a great experience there.
Never been to Boone but hear it’s beautiful
Yes, it is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Very nice.
We came to boone in September and ate breakfast there. We loved it also and was a great deal too
@JeremyH07 We are glad you've gotten to try it. And we are glad your experience was good.
God I've been going there for 15years awesome good food actually sat with Kyle petty one afternoon after bristol race
Up outside of reading pa there's a school district called Daniel boon school district and I think he lived in Pennsylvania for a little bit to because you see signs for the home he lived in up there
He may have. I know he spent lots of time in KY. That might even be where he was from, but he very well could've been in PA at some point.
We are currently sitting by candle light, due to power outage. We decided there’s no better thing to do than set our camera up on the tripod and catch up with our UA-cam friends! Great videos!!! Thanks for sharing 🤗
You are very welcome! Y'all stay warm!
Beautiful place!
@@Marilyn-KY It really is!
The cinnamon rolls are actually cinnamon biscuits. They switched the mix they used for those a couple of years ago and they haven’t been nearly as good since then.
Yes, that is correct. They were biscuits.
Happy New Year !
Happy New Year!
Was there in the 90s, Good Eatin'.
@Blue-rw9kj It had probably been the late 90's or early 2000's since we had eaten there. I know it had been a while.
Hopefully after you finished, you went a few blocks down King Street and went to the Mast General Store.
We only ate in Boone. We are in Boone often, but have featured Mast in our Waynesville video.
Been there several times.
Although it's been many years ago probably.
Great food absolutely delicious.
Two other places in Georgia that the food is just as good are ...
The Dillard House in Dillard, Georgia and
The Smith House in
Dahlonega, Georgia.
And of course in Tennessee
The Apple Barn.
Been many years since my wife and I ate there. Never had the breakfast. Sure looks great. Plenty of pig!
Yes, definitely more pig than we needed to eat. That second round was way too much. Couldn't finish all of it.
Thanks for watching!
The Daniel boon school district in Pennsylvania is probably about 40 to 45 minutes away from Lancaster and probably about an hour from Philadelphia
@@keithatkins9783 We were just in Lancaster this past June.
Were getting a big snow in London,Ky
@@MichaelReynolds-xu6ko Nice! Enjoy!
@ when you say county, is that like a suburb?
Hope you have a great weekend
@@vitsteele-lz2hn Thank you. You, too!
The food looked good.
It was a good breakfast.
Happy new year❤😊
Happy New Year!
It’s so good 😊
@Jan-xp8yi We loved it!
That is a awesome deal 👍
@@cathybriggs5846 Yes, very fair deal.
Is it owned/operated by members of the Boone family?
Bingham family. We showed that part before we were seated.
Great food at lunch
We may give it another try at lunch, as well. Last time, the fried chicken was very dry. But it could have just been that batch.
Big difference from FL weather!
@@carolchmielewski5313 Yes, very different.
Daniel Boones looked good ❤😊
It is very good.
That's sad the food was cold❤😢😊
Just because of the long filming time
It was warm when they brought it out.
Did not know till got there that is was cash only
You can also write a personal check, with ID. That is what we did, as we did not bring enough cash, either.
No coffee?
@barbstocktons9338 Not for us. I'm pretty sure they have coffee available to whoever wants it. We're just not coffee drinkers.
😀🖐
Hello to you.
His crew had bikes Harley's
WE WRNT THERE WHEN daughter took a tiur and later became a student App state, thst food wasnt good at all it was at lunch yukk
Thank you so much for that valuable comment. I don't know how long that has been since you were there, and as I said in the video, we didn't care for the lunch as much as the breakfast. I would not describe it as "yuck", though.
Sorry your experience was not as good, but the breakfast there is not "yuck".
Ive been there. Food not that good for the price. Better meal and value at Golden Corral!
Sorry that you didn't have a good experience there.
I totally agree! For breakfast anyway.
Looks to be?
Tell me when, exactly, you ate at the Daniel Boone Inn, to make that comparison. If you haven't, then you don't really have valuable input.
When did you eat there?
@@NCMemoryMakers my wife and I are there last year. Right at $60 for supper! Strawberry shortcake had frozen strawberries on it,
Been there , done that. Not that impressed for the price.
The price is what is impressive. All that food for $16.95. Where else do you get that?
There is nothing good about $16.96 breakfast.
But you’ll go to the drive thru at McDonalds and pay 10 bucks for a nasty biscuit, hash brown and coffee.
Yes, there is. But thank you for being one of those people. We get 1 or 2 every video.
You haven't even been there for breakfast, have you?
@@rp28 There's always somebody like this, who just feels the need to leave a negative comment. I'm guessing she hasn't even been there for breakfast, but is an expert on the place.
Overpriced food for it not to be very good as it used to be.
It was good, and the price was fair.
