  • I have a 2013 Chevy Camaro. I have had radio issues for about the last 6 months. First started out as cutting off and on all the time. Then it would stop working for longer periods of time. Now it doesn’t come on at all. Using turn signals or pushing in the clutch initially would make the radio stop working. Now my turn signals have no sound and the heat and air will not work. I called Chevy customer service 1-800-222-1020 and made a claim for my issues and was given a case number. Chevy then gave me a number for NHTSA. This is a government safety recall at 1-888-327-4236. I called that number and gave them my case number . What they do is enter claims and see if there are enough complaints to issue a recall. So, if you are having the same issues please call and report them. The more people that call, the better chances of a recall being issued.

I'm having the same problems with my radio. It hasn't affected the a/c yet. Thanks for the info. I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

I had the same issue...it cost me a lot to repair and the issue caused an actuator in my AC unit to break, which caused me additional repair costs. In all I have spent over 4-5k to fix the issue. It's been 3-4 years now and I just heard a pop in my speakers when turning on the car today, the radio then would not play FM stations but would play AUX. I too have a 2013.

to anyone having this conflict, its the radio receiver unit that is the problem. I took my car to my guy who is a car nerd and he checked all fuses and said everything if fine, so it must be the receiver is "shot". What you need to do is go on ebay, buy a matching radio receiver unit for your car that is unlocked and take it to your local audio car store and have them install it. I bought a used unlock radio receiver unit for about $125 for a 2015 ls camaro on ebay and the install at my local shop cost around $240. The dealership wanted to charge me almost $850 for the same service. It takes a little time to find the matching part but you can go the audio store that you want to install the unit at, have them take out the old one, and have them tell you the part#. My a/c, radio, and turn signals all started working after installing this used part.

Both I and my father have a 13 Camaro 1LS. Both cars have this same radio problem. Mine at less than 35,000 miles, his at just over 58,000. I will be sure both cars are documented. This is definitely widespread, and definitely a NHTSA compliance issue. No door or seatbelt chime, no signal sound, etc.

I have a 2014 V6 model. Same issue as most others. This started at 30,000 miles. Radio pops and goes out. Dealer says they never had one do this. We will never buy Chevrolet again just because they will not back their product.

I also have a 2013 Chevy Camaro, now I am having issues with the radio not working properly as well as no AC. The dealership quoted me 600 for the radio and the AC I am sure it will be more. It blows out hot and cold air at the same time. My mechanic checked it out and said its gonna be a huge job.

I have a problem also. Mine will a popping sound and the radio will stop working. The control panel stays lit up, but no sound from it and the buttons don't work (can't change the station, etc). Next day it will work for a few seconds make the popping sound then no sound again. Tried cutting the white wire as seen on you tube and solved problem for about 2 weeks and now it's right back to the problem again.

I just recently got my air issue fixed in my 2013 and it was outrageous how much they charged to remove the dash and replace the actuator because the door had broken off (the part was only 25.00). Just for that it was $1,200 to pull the dash and I was out of a vehicle for a week. I’ve had the car for almost three years and have put right at 30,000 on it. It’s only at 88,000 miles and it’s insane.

My 2015 Camaro is having the same issue but the problem has gotten worst smh, Camaros are nice looking cars from the outside but all the issues that come with them isn't worth it and EVERY issue is very expensive to fix in these cars. Make me miss my 1998 Toyota so much lol.

Having the same problem first time it happen was as soon as I brought the car it had 34k miles on it but I still had a warranty and it was free to fix, second time I had 85k miles on it and the radio went out again no ac not heater and of course the radios blacked out. Don’t get me wrong I love Camaros and it’s probably my all time favorite car I had an 84, ‘02, and now my 2013 model ! (I was planning on buying the 2020 model when I paid it off) but this made not want the car no more nor drive it especially all the money I spent with paint rims ect. I haven’t drove the car in 4 months and it’s sad! I tried to report it to and try to get a recall but due to COVID19 GM hasn’t been answering phone. I’ll just get my mustang or charger soon I’m fed up with it especially when GM tried to charge me a 1000 bucks for repairs

Im having the same issues. But try turning on the defrost first. Then turn it off and then try the a/c. That’s worked for me, hopefully it works for you too until it gets fixed.

I have my radio glitching on and off. AC controls stop working. Must turn the car off and then back on to make it work again. Turn signal sound not working and occasionally when I use the turn signal. The entire ration blanks out and once it turns back on the radio turns up and with static which makes it annoying while driving.

I have the same issue n my turn signals just started not making sounds I plan on calling tomorrow. I've reviewed a couple videos about cutting the white wire helps but reviewed another video saying it was just a temporary fix. Hope for a recall bout I have my doubts

Have you gotten yours fixed? Mine is flashing on and off and it drains the battery overnight. I have to jumpstart my car. I thought about replacing the radio, but I don’t want to invest the money if it doesn’t fix the problem.

I have the same car. This just started happening. It’s very dangerous because you also lose your hazard light function.
