Just bought one for £75, display is amazing and honestly the sound has to be heard to appreciate how unreal it sounds.
I've been using a Huawei Mediapad M5 10 Inch for several Months. It works fine. The Screen Resolution is bright. I bought Bluetooth Headphones. They're useful when in another Room. Technology is always constantly changing. We have to evolve with it. 20 years from now, kids could be asking the question, what's a Headphone Jack.

Would love to see the next iteration of this with a 120hz screen and a pen and bigger size. Yes, entering iPad Pro territory without the heavy price tag.
That would make it more of a productivity machine and very appealing to many people.
They should also bring back the headphone jack and include the gyroscope in the non-LTE version.
I am seriously considering this tablet. I would like to have a device with Netflix in HD - this Huawei is one of very few interesting devices with official Netflix HD support. Do you guys know any alternatives? Great speakers look amazing (I used to own ZTE Axon 7 and I loved its speakers) but no headphone jack.. is a big turn off.
Which case are you using with this? Huawei's own case?

Looks not bad , but i did notice one instance where the pretty lady was holding the tablet outside in the daylight , the screen looked a bit on the dim side , that is the way it came across anyway .
I'm confused between buying this or xiaomi mi pad 4... Please can someone clear my doubts which should i choose... Because its gonna be my first tablet btw which tablet is better reading manga and marvel comic... Thanks in advance for ur kindness

Harmon Kardon speaker is so good. I have the lite version. This tab is created for watching videos, movies or listening for movies.

Two 8in devices Tab S2 v H5 I own.
I prefer the S2 in almost every way except sound and that is a killer. My S2 is seriously deficient in both sound quality and especially volume with both internal speakers AND blue tooth. None of the play store boosters work with the S2, but Volume Booster Goodev works well with even the worst youtube sound engineering. For the few times it even needs it.
Of course the aspect ratios are different which is matter of taste but The H5 often forces the screen into a single upright phone orientation. And that places the power cord at the bottom!
Both have excellent screen quality but the S2 has slightly better touch sensitivity and touch consistency with stylus tapping.
The S2 has a much better "control" section menu structure, though neither is anywhere as good as my Nexus 7! Both S2 and H5 have survived serious and multiple drops.
I am a youtube and audiobook junky and the sound deficiencies of the S2 keep me with the H5, even though I find no way to bypass the irritating perpetual keypad sign in!
The H5 has the USB C cable which simply introduces another cable incompatibility. H5 seems to have quicker battery recharge but both have good duration.
Tablets are great sound great big screen better to do stuff on easy to do then a phone
I’ve had my iPad 4 mini since they came out, It just started bending, the cameras shit, and it’s getting kinda slow, and only has 16gb of space what I constantly has to delete shit, I’m getting the huawei p30 to replace my iPhone 6, so probably getting this to stay within the brand

Hi All,i have this tablet and have to say that it is just the right size for me as i use it on my truck as sat nav with waze.I also use it to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime and just want to say at the current price this for me is perfect i have the 8 inch.oh just wondering if Huawei is actually spying on me as some government departments seem to think and businesses i wonder if that will bring the price down lol anyway well done Huwawei for a really great device 10/10 from me.

I've got the 8.4 inch version and I tend to watch movies or shows on it. The battery life could honestly be a little better, but otherwise it's a really good tablet.
ovidiugabriel in my experience I typically get around 6-7 hours screen on time as I mainly use it to watch my TV shows and movies.
I don't have battery saver enabled even though I probably should since I'm not using anything too power intensive and there is the option for "Smart Resolution" which reduces the display resolution when needed in order to save power.
It's also been about a week since I last charged my tablet and the standby time is pretty good.
Everyone uses their devices in different ways, so the battery might only last a day with heavy usage. It's the same with smartphones. I could make my phone battery last 3-4 days, but I'm always checking my emails, app notifications and watching UA-cam videos here and there.
sadly there's a bunch of threads in many places where people have been burned by buying this, it uses the same antenna for wifi and bluetooth, when you use bluetooth the wifi connections suffers badly, lowering the throughput a lot, those who own it test it.

I was almost gonna buy the 8.4" model, but then I found out there's no headphone jack, and the gyroscope is only in the LTE model. The high-end DAC they're also bragging about isn't useable with headphones either because the DAC would require a headphone jack to be used with headphones.
Big fuck up on Huawei's part. What's the point of marketing a tablet as a high-end media consumption device, if such important features that the majority of high-end media consumers would use, are missing? Battery life is also meh.
Performance wise, it's great, but the cons really do outweigh the pros. In all honesty, this is an impractical tablet, and for what you're getting, the price should be a little bit lower.
If I had to recommend a better tablet for less money, it'd be the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4/4 Plus. The regular is the 8" model, while the Plus is the 10.1" model. They offer better hardware and more features for less money, have larger batteries, as well as having a headphone jack and gyroscope, even in the Wi-Fi only models.
I really wanted to like the MediaPad M5, but the massive flaws made it impossible to justify for the price.
Did you check the resolution while using Amazon Video, Netflix, Sky Go!??

playing mobile games on a phone for a long period strains my eyes because of the small screen. So i prefer tablets. This by far is the best tablet for android at the moment. But if you are a gamer and want really smoth gameplay, ipad pros are the best.
speakers are top notch, worth the price. I watch alot of series on my medipad lite.

I have the m5 8.4 and this is what i think of it. To many bloatware. Battery is to small. Tablet is quit thin. No accessory's for the 8.4 inch for sale in europe netherlands like screenprotectors, covers,tpu sillicon , on off switch and volume button are on the wrong site when using it horizontal. Canot remove anoying swifkey. Had to put on a classic keyboard app , just to get the nice size keys.. Big camera sticking out of the body. Very High price 350 euro.
ovidiugabriel my phone a xiaomi redmi 4 prime has a 5A battery with 5inch. This M5 has 8.4 inch with 5A batt. Within 6 hours of use this tablet is empty. A Apple 8.4 inch tablet can hold longer than 13 hours . They should had put a 12Amp battery in this M5. I use it for Ebay, AliExpress,UA-cam,Chrome. The auto screen funtion also sucks with dimming . Swiftkey keyboard canot be removed. No root acces. Dont buy this one. Get a Apple or Samsung Tab
10.1 or 10.8 fixed some of the problems. Battery is good. Not that many bloatware. The super annoying Swiftkey drove me nuts, too, took me a month, to find a good replacement called LaBan key. Attaching covers and keyboard makes life easier. In general, I made it work. For me, a multipurpose-user

I was sold up until you mentioned the need for the adapter for headphones. That’s 95% of my use, with headphones. I’d hate to have to keep up with the adapter especially with a toddler around.

Great tablet, But I believe the Tab S3 is still the king in the android tablet segment due to its amoled display, s pen, and quad speaker configuration.
