Hi Don, my name is Heather Flanders, my husband and I watch you video's until midnight on more nights than I 'd like to admit. I am a newbee and love what you teach, we've watched many different people and have agreed you are the best. I just bought- downloaded your book last night and am amazed at how well you teach! I live in the Phoenix area and so wish you lived closer, as I am sure many of your students feel the same. God Bless you and your family stay safe and healthy for all your viewer's. Blessing
Mr. Gonzales, your videos are very informative and easy to follow. Thank you for your time and sharing your talent. Blessings to you and your family.🙏💖🤟
Good tutorial Don. I'm a big fan of the running W. Keep up the wonderful teaching. Whether new or a seasoned leather smith you always show us something good to add to or bag of tricks . Blessings on you and your family. Hope the new shop is suiting well. Again blessings on ya boy.
I actually just got pretty much the exact stamp today and I was just trying to figure out how to do the corners and poof problem solved and looks beautiful. Thanks brother.
Love your videos Don, your wisdom has helped a ton of people over the years including me, this video is no different. I've always struggled with cornering boarder stamps abd and absolutely love the serpentine. Thanks for the great content and lessons, by the way, your work is beautiful!
Don, I like and watch every video you do very well explained and you make it look easy and enjoyable. Do you do any videos on dying your leather and having different shades. And have you used two different color antique dye on one piece. Thank you
Making my granddaughters livestock show stall signs based on this as a frame around a laser engraved hair on calf skin. Mine doesn't look nearly as good as yours, but sure would look crummy if I had not started at the corners like you said. Thanks for the inspiration! Hope to show off the finished product soon and even better, with a couple of grand champion trophies held by a couple of smiling young ladies I know!!!
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, I always did the flower in the corner, but I like your idea 2 so next time I will try your way, thanks Don, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
NIce video, Mr. Gonzales. Thanks for sharing. I'm catching up on your videos, ran across them not long ago. If you don't mind, where do you acquire leather in that heavy weight 13-15 oz? Thanks again. I learned something about border stamps.
Can you please tell me where you can get those tool rolls, like you have for your carving and craft tools, looks like cloth.......Thanks Super training Vids Thank You Sooo Much
When I seen the video title how to stamp a border I though how much can there be to this. This video explained why my borders always looked like shit. I will have to try this methood.
Did I blink and miss wetting the leather? It doesn't have to be somewhat damp for stamping? I've seen that stamp before, never really saw a finished run of it, that's really cool!
I appreciate all of the tooling/stamping videos, thanks! Noticed you don't get hung up about how the border stamps (the shell, not the runner) meet on the inside of the corner.
Love it. The only problem I've got with these videos is my Visa card screams every time I watch one. Could be worse, I suppose ...it hasn't burst into flames--yet.
Have been trying to tool some leather, bought myself a 20 stamp set with swivel knife, the mallet, 3 wooden stylus kit for $20, yes these tools are probably low cuality but hey, i am just trying out. Printed out some wallet tooling pattern, bought some 9ish oz veg leather. Well the leather appears to be veg tan but I am no expert, 1st time I purchase leather, looks natural yellowish color like the one you tool. I wetted the leather with water, put in a plastic bag and let it for some hours. After transfering the pattern and carving it with the swivel knife I tried to just use the bevel tool on the pattern, but it looks like total garbage :), I dont get that darkening on the stamped leather, it stays pale like before. What could be wrong here? Wrong kind of leather? Improper casing? Too much water or too little. Basket weave imprint looks bad too. Leather looks mushy when tooled.

Great video, very helpful. Personally I think the corners ended up looking like the head of a pit-viper, so for a serpentine border it was perfect.

Can you link to some of the tools you use? I can't seem to find those, like the first stamp and the bead blade you used. Very nice work, by the way.
Thank you Don!

I'm fairly new at this could you tell me where I can get a stamp like that
When I seen the video title how to stamp a border I though how much can there be to this. This video explained why my borders always looked like shit. I will have to try this methood.
2:03 - where does one find a bead blade for a swivel cutter?
Thanks !
This was so helpful, it really did help me out and I feel confident I could pull this off. Thank you *SO* much!
I really like this look! Now I’m googling where to buy bead blade & serpentine border stamp lol... 👍🏻
I have a question. Do you case your leather before you cut your boarders and when you carve?
Don on your bench behind you, do you have your dividers & scissor on a magnetic strip?
Where can I find that double blade swivel knife?
So what tool set do you use? Or any recommendations
Is there a method to do this with a curved border, such as an oval or circle shape?
Thank You
What brand of serpentine stamp is that? Can't seem to find any like it.
Are there maybe links to the tools anywhere? or can you please post, Thanks
$will this work on holster projects
You answered my question as to how you get the stamps perfectly spaced.. the answer is.. you don’t 😂
Thanks for your vid brother
What size stamp are you using? Can you recommend a stamp size for a Barry king serpentine stamp that would give the size boarder you just created.
Did I blink and miss wetting the leather? It doesn't have to be somewhat damp for stamping? I've seen that stamp before, never really saw a finished run of it, that's really cool!
Where do I purchase the double (beader) blade for the swivel knife?
Where did you get those calipers
Can this serpentine border be put on a round piece of leather?
I appreciate all of the tooling/stamping videos, thanks! Noticed you don't get hung up about how the border stamps (the shell, not the runner) meet on the inside of the corner.
Hi Don, where can I get a bead blade?
Great video. Very clear explanation. Could you give us the number and name of the tools you used? Regards
Anyone know what size serpentine stamp DG is using in this video?
What that border blade called????
Where do I find a Bead blade
Dude, Don noted where to buy the blade at the 3:12 mark.

Love it. The only problem I've got with these videos is my Visa card screams every time I watch one. Could be worse, I suppose ...it hasn't burst into flames--yet.
Mine did, so I watched the tutorial on how to make one out of leather
How to put this on a pan cake holster.
👌👌👌👍👍👍
That is one hell of a saddle in Your website signup section. Yup.!!
You must have gotten that beading knife a while ago because all my supplier don’t have anything like it. Help!!!!

what about a corner that is less or more than 90*

too much water
Your video is too informative. I'm just a beginer. Wish to know whether the leather to be made wet before start.
How do we know this isn’t your brother? We’ve been fooled once.
