feeling bad for mighty LCH Prachand being capable not enough order and fame .. if we upgraded prachand to mk2 which will will medium category heli then it was perfect choice than faulty apache
Buddy, if I am not wrong then 145 lch Prachand had already got approval, so it is not ignored. And you can't compare a light weight helicopter with a heavy weight one, both have their own importance.
😮@@Ronit_9977
Prachand is not as suitable as Apache in desert terrain.
Apache ki halat or kharab hai@@Krishnendu792
LCH is good for Himalaya region and apache is good for areas like Punjab and Rajasthan
I think we need to focus on increasing efficiency in PSU . And give them some space to operate independently not under our gov BABU. If BHEL, BEL, ISRO etc can work then why not HAL. Russia is also using their PSU
Agree .
the type resource public sector will have private cannot specially in case of helicopter or fighter jets
Why not privatise HAL instead.. If HAL engineers r so efficient.. Then parent company can hire them😊👍🏼
U can't increase efficiency of government hospital, government schools, government Block division office.. They r inherited incompetent.
Don't talk about Russia.. They r autocratic in nature. There is no unionbaazi or strike in autocracy u revaluate staff efficiency😊
there is a reason why .. most companies will go bankrupt trying to do r&d with GOI and Armed forces. The armed forces routinely change requirements and draw out testing for decades. Even then the order’s are peacemeal and not in sufficient quantities. And there is the political risk where if the government changes, the new government will drop this and not pay the private company.
Everything is business. Deshbhakti is only to get votes from stupid
DECISION MAKERS IN INDIAN ARMY ARE SO RIGID THAT THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND/ACCEPT LITTLE CHANGES POSSIBLE TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY/CAPABILITIES OF THEIR VEHICLES/DEVICES. THEY ARE CRAZY ABOUT MFGRS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.
Absolutely wrong. Apart from a few instances here and there, armed forces change requirements AFTER DRDO/DPSUs miss the deadline as the threat perception changes and new features are required. The specs are given for a particular time frame. If you miss that window, changes are bound to happen.
As for testing, armed forces don't draw out testing. It's that DRDO/DPSU products don't meet the requirements. Look at how quickly orders for drones are processed. Then compare it to the ATGMs.
As for piecemeal orders, that is the norm world over. You need to pay a part of the deal value as advance. If the order is too big, you will have to pay a lot of money upfront. But if the product is good, repeat orders are placed. Look at Pinaka, Akash, Astra,Tejas etc. Even private sector is getting loads of orders for the drones.
@user-tk2sz7yj8r That's why thr Defence minister had to issue a statement that the requirements given by IAF in QSPR are out of the moon, and then they will continously upgrade them. I think he knows it better than everyone else.
@@user-tk2sz7yj8r 272 Su 30 MKi as one single order. That was piecemeal order??? Also, India gave orders for Su30 even before the first flight of the same.
Jitni jaldi private players ko nahin involve karoge kuch nahin hoga... 2014 to 2023 isa huge time
Aabe gadhe, Private company khud nahi join kar rahi.

प्राइवेट खुद डेवलप नहीं करना चाहता बल्कि उसे बना बनाया टेक्नोलॉजी मिले ताकि बाद में प्रोडक्शन करके मुनाफा कमा सकें ।
Armed forces khud unreliable hai specially Army
@@guddu6424 Private players are very much interested in developing and selling tech. But GoI has to release tenders for IDDM for that. Whenever tenders are released, private companies lap it up.
They need to find a better way than SPV Model because this is not working I think the best way is to give private companies a assurance that armed forces will procure some units even if they don’t like it or do some tweaks in the product to meet what the forces are asking for.
That will raise question on quality of the product! Nowhere in the world do companies ask for order before even starting R&D or proving their capability to make claimed product. Something is wrong with out private companies, They either don't trust GOI at all or want to stay away from defense R&D for screwdrivergiri for chindi profit.
@@asmodeus3084 you are absolutely correct about the R&D point but I think it will take time to build ecosystem like Lockheed Martin and Boeing in US the problem is profit when we start importing huge amounts and companies realise how much profit is in this sector I think they will enter eventually but when idk right now best option is to not wait for private companies on important projects that can cause harm to national security and let HAL and DRDO work like they do with few efficiency changes
@@GrimReaper-1971 I understand your point but we can never have a company like LM and GE.
Reasoning : When those companies were in their early stage of the progress, US voters were only elite class. So they made policies to benifit corporate companies instead of putting lower/middle class's interests first.
In India we have some political parties heavily influenced by communism, and state of our politics will never allow us to bring forth such policies.
It will be easier following Russ-China path than US path, meaning Let govt fund their prefered private player with all the resources to come out on top. insted of splitting orders of different categories to different playeres.
Although US path is fundamentally strong and fair to all. it isn't feasible IMO.
@@asmodeus3084 then you have more problem if the govt run company chooses private company either there will be corruption or the opposition saying stuff like they say for Adani but still I think you option is better than the US one welp who knows our people take decades to take decision lol
Nobody wants to go on war with langda ghoda as his partner.. No matter how skilled the swordsman is.
There was a plan to convert IMRH to a heavy attack helicopter... What's the progress on that ???
Woah woah hold it! Let IMRH roll out first😂
HAL said it was possible and will be looked at in the future.
Our PSUs are always next gen. Jai next gen PSU 👍
Spv is killer for India defensive and offensive capabilities 😢
Gov. Has a point though
Kaveri engine ki kya update hai bhai...
I think HAL should have a dedicated commercial wing just like NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) of ISRO. Once they have achieved their target no.s and expertise management, it can be privatized where other private companies can work in collaboration. In this way, other private companies can also gain confidence in manufacturing and handling defense equipment. Just my thought. Asking others to correct me if I'm wrong.
Once the platform is ready… our defence forces will change the requirements 😂

I always wondered why we didnt pass on or give access to the 3 stored/mothballed VVIP AW101's to HAL. If it was the chinese they would have taken it apart to the last screw and reverse engineered it by now....I wonder if its still kept in storage to rot away...

I think it’s a matter of time before Indian companies jump in. I assume Order quantity will increase when the need for weapons increases. The need for weapons increases when conflict increases. Conflict will surely increase as India starts to become a dominant power in the world.
Jab tak HAL aur DRDO ke employees aur ex - employees koi startup company shuru nahi karte tab Tak mushkil hai .Isro ke employees ne aisa Kia aur aaj skyroot jaisi company ban gai hai .
Bhai yeh Indian companies jab koi foreign products india mein banana hota hai tab to apni gend utha ker aa jate hai jaldi jaldi.lekin indian made products banane mein inki maa hud jati hai. Tab bolte hai ki inhe koi experience nahi hai.
What if IMRH is medium category then what category is ALH DHRUV. Because is LUH is light category right?
ALH is actually light category with twin engine 5 tonne category
LUH is light single engine 3 tonne category
IMRH is 10 tonne

aviation domain mai Private sector ko leker se kamse kam aur 10-15 salo tak ummeed rakhna bekar hai, i wish ke hamne waqt rehte ek aur HAL jaisi DPSU bana li hoti, just like china aur Russia ke pass hai, toh aaj HAL par itna workload nahi aata aur, wo Apne resources aur manpower tiltrotor/coaxial heli Jaise kisi advanced tech par kaam karne keliye lagate.
New aircraft manufacturing units should be developed by government/ public sector companies. No private company can take the risk of developing and manufacturing aircraft/ helicopter due to financial viability.
GoI pays the money for R&D and prototypes. When orders are placed, IAF pays a huge sum as advance, enough to meet capex and initial opex. So where's the financial risk?
Fact is, these are all lies by DPSUs.

@@james4807M that's why no private companies are involving themselves in projects.
Sir its going to replace Mi17V5?
" Private sector is more efficient and time bound". Tel. That to Boeing whose flights are tearing themselves apart. The private companies will sell the ip to china and import all parts from China and just assemble them. Private companies care for profits over everything else. The US military is pissed at how their companies are increasing Chinese made components despite congressional hearings and warnings. HAL has done extremely well with helicopters. Let them do what they are good at. This privatization drive is all for kickbacks and commissions.
"HAL has done extremely well with helicopters." - That's why Prachand still doesn't have an ATGM. And apart from our armed forces who are forced by MoD to buy the junk HAL makes, no one else in the world wants those helicopters. Ecuador got fooled and finally filed a case on HAL to just take the choppers back. That's how well HAL has done.
@@user-tk2sz7yj8r You are wrong on both. It's not HAL's job to make missiles. India will struggle to export as long as even a single screw is imported. The other issue is maintenance. It's an Indian company and it has facilities across the nation. They have no MRO facilities anywhere else. So exports are always going to fail. I never advocate for exports. I am purely talking about domestic consumption. Your favourite imported aircrafts have been sitting on the sidelines of every conflict waiting for parts that no one sends when we need them the most.
Sir hal ko hi bana ne do yarr delay pe delay hi hoga
Abhi sirf 3 saal delay huye h.. HAL bnaya to 30 saal honge😊
Sir can you make a video on Apache gunship crash landing 🙏
Finally properly understood the whole scenario. Want able to properly digest after watching video from @AlphaDefense English channel.
Jai Hind Good Night
The idea behind SPV is good. Is it not possible that HAL and DRDO starts the development work and also manufactures some SP model. Then transfer it to private sector. Private sector will get the bulk orders and know-how. This way they will also gain experience. In the meantime, HAL and DRDO can move on to another project.
HAL and ADA haven't rolled out Mk2 even 2 decades after the project initiation. So leaving the initial work to them itself will defeat the whole purpose.
@@user-tk2sz7yj8r But Mark 2 will roll out only after work of Mark 1/1A is over. Preliminary design completed post 2014. HAL and ADA were not running parallel projects. Government cleared the investment for prototype development in 2022. How can you expect them to roll out Mark 2 without money? 2 decade time-frame doesn't make sense.
@@sumandutta4834 IAF had asked for Mk2 in 2005. Tender for engines was issued in 2008. You think a tender for engine can be issued without finalizing basic design details? GE won the deal in 2010 itself. As for money, it's a lie that money only came in 2022. Loads of money was available before that and was wasted by HAL. HAL has always said that Mk2 (and other planes) will be rolled out 36 months after the funds are released. In Jan 2021, HAL chief had said that roll out will happen in August 2022 (he repeated the statement many times after that as well). That means he committed to deliver in 19 months. That proves that money was available and wasted. As for parallel development, CCS has given go ahead for mk1a, mk2 and AMCA. Funds for all 3 are present. Isn't that parallel development?
@@user-tk2sz7yj8r But reports say otherwise. AMCA funds are released this year. That's what I read in news. ADA annual report mentions completion of design studies for Mk2 in 2014. IAF and ADA completed the design review in 2021. Till 2023, only 8 engines were delivered by GE. Certainly these are for prototype and LSP units. Which why I said previously, 2 decades time-frame doesn't make sense.
@@sumandutta4834 I am talking about Mk2 primarily. AMCA is only to show that parallel projects are happening, so even if funds are released this year means that parallel projects are not just a possibility but a reality.
I said 2 decades from the start of the project. Completion of design studies in 2014 only mean that it took them almost a decade to finish the design. Delivery of 8 engines also mean nothing, as they are enough for prototypes and that is the phase it is in right now.
So the 2 decades timeline makes perfect sense. None of the points you mentioned prove or suggest anything otherwise. Time from initiation of the project, till the roll out, is over 2 decades.
Wise move, aviation ki kmaan haal filhaal HAL k paas e honi chahiye
So that we never have a desi IAF?
@@user-tk2sz7yj8r pvt sector companies are not matured enough right now, they need to learn a lot. Starting with parts manufacturing is good. Plus they themselves prioritize their margins over national interest.
@@kamalbhullar5035 There is something called open market competition. The private companies will always prioritize profits because in the long run, only profits can make a sustainable business. You can do charity once or twice. But if you want to succeed, profits are needed. That's why US has over 40% market share and Russia is slipping so fast. China, despite being such a big economy, is nowhere near US.
As for being mature, the fact is that with HAL and ADA, you have a guarantee of failure. Others can learn and mature faster than HAL can roll something out. 2 decade+ for rolling out Mk2 is a prime example. Look at OFB vs Kalyani. OFB can't deliver Dhanush even with all it's experience. Kalyani group on the other hand is exporting ATAGS. That's the difference.
@@kamalbhullar5035 why can't we privatise HAL.. The parent pvt company who would buy HAL can hire experienced and matured HAL engineers and Managers 😊
Hopefully imrh based naval awacs will have India radar and not version of crownest.

I don't understand why India is investing in dead platforms. Helicopters are very niche and are only used as transport. Since they are such easy targets in the battlefield, they are being replaced by drones. India would be better off with investing in a chinook style helicopter that can transport at high altitudes like Ladakh. Using them for attack is just a waste of money. They would be better off just paying that money to me
Wow what analysis.
All Indian projects are yet to start, is being considered, is at final stage for start, that's show how incompetent Govt policies are towards safety and security of the country while Chinese have gone beyond india could ever hope to reach.
