Why can't we create a diesel electric sub along with DRDO AIP system in the existing Arihant class sub to create new sub.

Sir, isn't we are going for additional 3 scorpene class submarines, articles says that deal will be signed by end 2024 and first submarine will get inducted by 2031. Means we will have atleast 9 submarines in case any of this program will not work by 2035, still if we want to stand against our biggest rival, we have to work on projects as fast as possible. Atleast 24 submarines by 2040, isn't it??

Arihant is SSBM, we are working on a hunter killer with French assistance. the problem is not so much submarine design as integration of the AIP system. IN is now trying to operate two different kinds of sub-Diesel electric and Nuclear. This is challenging. May be we should just forget the diesel ones and focus on nuclear.

Both are not connected (aip and nuclear submarine) nuclear submarine come on nuclear missile VLS with radiation protection for the crew.
They need to design subs that can be installed with aip later. This approach is lame.
In most countries, the shipbuilders make designs. In India MDL has been making subs for so long, still couldn't absorb any design. Incapable?
Even the destroyers and frigates actually come from Naval units, nothing from MDL

I hope Spain wins this contract for mainly 2 reasons Germany is not a good partner for India they always lecture us on our internal matters and delay our weapons systems for unknown reasons so they must be taught a lesson that they are not the only weapons manufacturer and secondly at least one more shipyard should be capable of manufacturing submarines and it being a private company can be good specially if it's L%T
India needs more than 12 conventional submarines at the shortest possible time to counter the threats from the two neighbour at Indian Ocean region, Bay of Bengal & Arabian Sea. Then why not go for German offer as well as Spanish offer both. Time is more important than money at this juncture.

Indian system though flawed has its own merits that is self reliance and accountability. We have to question the government via media and social media.
