Refuellers are the urgent requirement of IAF, so yes, most probably IAF had decided to directly procure it from outside. Indigenisation is important, but capabilities are also have high priority, we have to take the balanced approach, seems good step 👍👍.

स्वचालित एयर डिफेंस गन देश में क्यो बनाने का पहल किया जा रहा , बिहो लेने के लिए तो बड़े तत्पर हो गए थे अब जब चीनी मोर्चा खुल गया है तो कब तक रूसी सिस्टम जो 70-80 के दशक में गिनती के लिया गया था उसके भरोसे रहेंगे..भले ही उनको अपग्रेड किया जा चुका पर दुश्मन मोर्चे का फैलाव भी तो बढ़ गया,संख्या भी जरूरी है
जो साधारण platform बनाने की क्षमता हैं. उन्हें तो देश में ही बनाना चाहिए.

Boeing ke quality issues baar baar news main aa rahe hain aur upar se US govt repeatedly Bharat se pungey le rahi hai.
France OTOH ek trusted aur reliable partner hai aur A 330 ek badhiya option hai jo Boeing se kisi bhi tarah se kam nahin.
What abt convertion of old boeing to tanker,i think hal and iai have a deal to convert those plane
KC-46 as is cannot be offered as it's boom based refueller & has to be modified as drouge based. Also it has huge backlog of USAF ordere & is equipped with MCAS which has been responsible for crashes in newer Boeing planes. Better to go with older gen civilian conversions which both Boeing & IAI offer.
A330MRTT has won this evaluation in 2012 itself so just ordered some , plus another short number of A400M , and close MTA to KC390
