New 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross GR Sport Hybrid - Wonderful Compact City SUV

Yaris Cross is a crossover vehicle built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture platform designed by Daihatsu. Separated into sub-platforms, DNGA-A is used to produce cars in the Kei car / A-segment group and DNGA-B is used to produce B-segment cars such as the Daihatsu Xenia, Toyota Avanza, Toyota Veloz, including the Toyota Yaris Cross that was launched on this.
Toyota Yaris Cross has dimensions of 4,310 mm long, 1,770 mm wide, 1,615 mm high, slightly smaller than rival Hyundai Creta, but the wheelbase of Yaris Cross is 2,620 mm, 10 mm better than Creta.
In terms of looks, the all-new Yaris Cross takes cues from other Toyota models such as the RAV4 and the North American-market Highlander crossovers, wearing the brand’s “Solid & Dynamic” design language.
The front profile looks quite upright and similar to the Highlander SUV. The trapezium-shaped grille, sharp LED headlamps, and skid plate also give it an aggressive look. Thanks to the squared wheel arches and black cladding, the SUV has a mildly rugged appeal too. The upright stance continues with the roofline design as well. Its rear profile seems inspired by the globally sold Corolla Cross, which also gets the angular tailgate, sharp LED tail lamps, and body cladding integrated into the rear bumper.
Inside, the crossover gets an asymmetrical and driver-focused cockpit. Right in the centre of the dashboard, you have a tall 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Apart from this, it also comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and a powered driver’s seat.
Toyota offer the Yaris Cross with a choice of 2 powertrain options - 1.5L normal petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol. The 1.5L normal petrol engine produces 106PS of power and 138Nm of torque. The normal petrol engine gets 2 transmission options - a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine produces 109PS of power and comes with a CVT transmission..
