The 37's look and sound amazing. I'm not a train guy, but I'm hooked on watching these at the moment for some reason. Their power and noise I think. Totally hooked 👌👍
Used to get a train home at the weekend from school and then back to school for Monday and it was type 37s Inverness to Tain. You could hear the trash of the 37 unit from 5 miles away before it got to the station on the way back to school. Pity they for 2 carriage units in the late 80's but you still can hear the trash some nights late as they still use 37's to pull the freight. The railway is 5 miles away from my house also but you can still hear the trash and it is delightful to listen to out in the garden. The 37 is truly the noisiest diesel unit of them all and I love it!!
Same for me as a teen age lad in the 80s. My house was sat on the top of a hill and you could as you said hear them coming up the line from miles away. Plus with binocular I could also see them coming from miles away due to the high position of my house at the time. Shame I hadn't seen any class 37s for years and years but it's obouivous they still run since there on UA-cam. They must be one of the best sounding diesel locos in Britain.
Where i used to live was around 2 miles from railway on a quiet evening in our garden my elder brother would say listen theres the train Nr Mill Lane! Ironically I now live 100yds from there but sadly electric occasionally a diesel will rumble down the line great sound instead of the Electric groan
Great compilation. Love the sound of these old locomotives. My grans house use to be next door to where they use to park these up every night in south wales so naturally as a 80's kid I use to spend hours outside everyday watching these move around, hooking up to each other and pulling about 20-50 coal carts behind them. A lovely reminder of a fantastic child hood where watching things like this was every day entertainment.
direct rail snow plogh those two off like a ferrari brilliant train love the 37 always said it 37 jockeys always give best tones always happy chappies...who wouldnt be driving that ...good old gals.
Always loved the sound of a class 37 from a child listening to them pulling out of Penzance and building speed along the marshes . That sound is the sound of raw grunt - love it
Great video and thanks.Something in return?OH HAIL- THE GROWLERS OF MACBETH! The witches of Macbeth are soon outdone; as a 37 makes her run. The mighty Loco stirs her deadly brew; in classic hues, of yellow and BR Blue.A throaty growler on the Highland air; a two-tone "Hi", to spotters here and there. The 37, pickS up her skirt; and sweeps aside, the dust and dirt. From Scotland, to dawlish beach; she knew no bounds to restrict her reach. From Heritage Specials to hauling Welsh coal; she takes on loads and beats them all. She's even seen in France and Spain; our lovely Growlers, take the strain. Often the choice of Network Rail; the competition, just fade, and pale. Now close your eyes, imagine that sound; a working Growler, with her nose to the ground. She's pushing time and maybe more; as she rules the gradients, of Rannock Moor. BY JACK D. HARRISON.Sorry, it wouldn't let me keep the spaces between Stanzas - The philistines. lol.

5 miles away 🙄
I love it how the 60 year old diesel loco has to rescue the 10 year old newish locos still 😂😂😂
And it looks cooler than the fresh-meat XD
@@f00kinglasrsights89 Yeah, the good old Class 37 is my favourite Loco
@@gazof-the-north1980 That look never gets old, innit
reminds me of the stories of steam engines rescuing first generation diesels when they broke down

Is it me or are the drivers of these all enjoying there job aswell as letting on to the camera man at every opportunity
what was the blue light coming out of the yellow carriage?
At what time point in the video did you see a blue light?

I saw that,
What were the deltic engines replaced with ??????
The sounds of my childhood.
Great Video....Question. You must know the driver(s) to give you some of these horn fanfares ?? Particularly at 2.42 in the dark !! LOVE IT
I feel sorry for any snow that pair come across. Proper acceleration.
well good - love tractors - subbed :-)
The sound of locomotive is like truck pulling Race in America
Why are there two engines to pull/push such a seemingly small load?
How does the driver of the rear tractor know how fast to go? Surely visibility isn't great.
Dude !
Question ...
1) To get those numbers at such speed is a great skill 🤔
2) Can we meet up and discuss next week's Euromillions 😅
Fantastic video 👍👍👍
Intro is so cool horns
Wonderful!
Y two engine's isn't one strong enough?
Great video!
DRS66421 ur a mug get a life
