It's so nice to see people discovering my home country in genuine and not "fancy travel bloger" kind of way and seeing what this small underrated country has to offer. Very good job at documenting your trip 👌 Wishing you safe travels in the future. Keep up the good job.
Thanks for such a great compliment 🍻 It is definitely an underrated country and very affordable! Glad you are enjoying the videos! Thanks for the encouragement 👊
What an amazing hike (esp. the 2nd one), and drone footage! You guys are prolific with your travel clips & tips. Loving how you show us not so well known countries in SE Europe. Feeling very inspired to visit some of these beautiful places.
Aww yay I walked through Tolmin, but didn't have time to see the gorge. Triglav looks so beautiful I hope I will go back to explore it some more. I even spotted the red & yellow concentric circles at 17:06 which forms part of the E7 European hiking trail that cuts through Slovenia, which I based my hike on. You even went to Kobarid!! If you had carried on along that road to the Italian border that's where I started my hike 😊
That's awesome! So cool that you walked across Slovenia! Yea, we stayed in Kobarid for a couple of nights while we saw the area. It is such a great little town!
@@bojanstare8667 I remember seeing a restaurant there - I think I even caught it on film in the first episode - but everything was closed when I started my hike in July 2019 :(
I just came back from Kobarid and Dreznica. My mom was born in Dreznica. You guys did a wonderful job with the drone videos catching all the beauty of Slovenia.
I myself am from Slovenia and I love the video! And just a note - I am pretty amused whenever I see you two walking (whoever is watching u 2 just sees two people setting up a camera, then walking for 5 sec, and then getting back to get it hahahah. BTW, this isn’t meant as a criticism 👋)
Very nice shots! You should go to see Gregorčič waterfall and in this area are some other things that are even more amazing than Tolmin gorge and Kozjak waterfall. ;)
Great suggestion. I have just searched for Gregorčič. Looks amazing and definitely going to check it soon. If you have some places like that, please write here. :)
Thanks for not going into that cave without a guide. There's a great reason for it, spelunking can be quite dangerous and you really want the whole kit with you, limestone is always sharpest where your helmet hits it, and if there's no helmet, well... Also, you'll need a ball of yarn to unwind, these caves sometimes branch in 3D.
Thanks Milan! That cave is way out of our league. No way Sammy is ever allowing that to happen 😂 Thanks for looking out 👊 Would be fun to hire a guide and explore a small bit of it next time though!
I have two questions: 1. How do you fund your travel in general? Do you have any savings? How much time did it take you to save that much? Or you're currently working? What is or was both of your professions? 2. How much did it cost you this particular trip? Home to home travel, Airbnb, park entry ticket, food, car travel etc (excluding equipments)
Hi Patrik! We saved for about 3 years before we left. Travel is definitely personalized and everyone will have a different budget/expectations. We opted for an average of around $100 a day, some days we were way under and some days we were over. For our entire Slovenia trip over 10-12 days we averaged $101 a day, so we were in budget! We like to stay in cheaper Airbnb’s and spend more money on good food/drinks/entertainment. Everyone’s trip will be different depending on your interests. Please feel free to email us with any other questions or if you want more in depth answers ☺️ thanks so much for watching!!
That lady was so nice. I had dropped my wallet hiking from Tolmin on the trail .When I reach in my pocket to go for my wallet to pay ,It wasn`t there .I thought for a moment I left it in the bank ,when i drew cash .She insisted that i take her car to the bank and come back .I did , it wasn`t at the bank .I drove back and thank her and some Euros .The next gentlemen that walk up from the trail had found my wallet .GOOD FOLKS
Hello friends! Great video and even more important for me since I’m planing to travel Slovenia in October but I’m still kind of undecided 😅 what’s the name of the place/church at the end? So amazing!! Greetings from Costa Rica btw! Glad you liked my country
Name is Drežnica and is near by Kobarid town. Also all valey is a museum of Isonzo front from ww1, where a lot of soldiers have died. In town Kobarid is well known museum of ww1, which was awarded as a best small museum in Europe. You have to visit it. And when you will be at Tolminka gorge, you should follow road to the mountain - vilage Čadrg, where is one of the best cheese production of eco cheese. There was king of Sweden visiting vilage with home meda food.
Fun fact, there are lots of thermal springs in Slovenia, also there are a lot of thermal spas and some natural thermal pools/spa. Its mostly in the East. Maybe you meant its rare to have thermal spring in Alps.
Ok! Thanks for the info, we didn’t see any signs on any of the trails we went on but we will keep that in mind for the future 😃 thanks for watching, appreciate it!
@@SammyandTommy Julian Alps were indirectly named after Gaius Julius Caesar or after the Roman settlement of Forum Iulii, which lay near today's Cividale, Italy.
Depends what you want to visit. Slovenia is small country, but with a lot of different landscapes, history and good food and the best wine. Maybe you will return later to see other sights. What kind of is Slovenia you could see in video Geography now! Slovenia. It is a lot of info there, but not all of course. 🙂
Fun fact, Triglav national park is really the only national park, but we differenciate, we have a lot of areas which are under protection, and we take that serious ☺️
That is a fun fact. Thanks for sharing Marko! Nice to meet you 👊 Slovenia is all over it and does so many good things for the environment 😍 They set a great example for other countries to follow! Thank you for watching!
Filmed Pre-COVID. Join us for 2 short hikes in Slovenia! We are loving the natural beauty of the Julian Alps!
Well, I guess we’re heading back to Slovenia! That second hike was especially gorgeous. 😍
It was definitely our favorite too!

As flying drones in the National Park is prohibited, did you have to get a special permit?
