It's weird to think of 2007 as retro now but I really dig the CPU XTREME days of the mid 2000's

Yeah, 14yrs being called Retro really shows how fast PC Tech advances

I have a hp z600 from 2008, it still plays high settings all the way.
      2x xeon x5570
      12gb pc5400 ddr3
      Gtx 1070 8gb
But i know what you mean bro i love the core2duo era and pentium

@@shaneeslick it's going way too fast and people are wayyyy too retarded with it. Like people literally believe that you need to upgrade every year if not 2....
Bro I could use an i7 4790 and do absolutely anything that a new cpu is capable of. Even an i7 3770 or i5 4690 would do amazing. I've done it recently. Had an i7 4790k on a rampage mobo with 16gb ripjaws 2133mhz and an R9 290 last February and it kicked ass. Built it for around $400 CAD sold it for $700 I believe.
GPU is the only thing that's kinda debatable but even so the GTX 10 series and the RX 500 series are still perfectly fine.
PC gamers have always been like this though it's like a virtual cock off lol. "Oh yeah? Well I get 10fps higher than you on max and it only cost me an extra $700!!!" 😂

    • @shaneeslick

      @@antikz3731 Yeah Totally True, a i7-3770 & RX480/580 or GTX1060 6GB is a Great Gaming Machine for 1080p, it'll get 60FPS in most AAA Games with reasonable Quality & easily over 100FPS in FPShooters & E-Sports,
I was using a i7-3770 in an Editing PC for my Home Movies & Gaming, I only upgraded to a R9 3900X last year as my Aunt asked me to Transfer a lot of old Footage from Video Cassette & was using Blender to Compress & Convert the New Digital Image to MP4 for her, the i7 was taking longer to do that than Record the Footage to Digital 1:1 while the R9 does an hour of Footage in less than 10min, I also kept the i7 so now I can record the Footage with the i7 & then Edit & everything else with the R9 while recording another Video Cassette, so much easier 😁

    G'day Timmy Joe,
WOW! DarthBeavis is really an Artist of the PC Tech Community,
his work shows most of the 'Theme Builds' on a lot of channels are just a box of 'Stuff they got for Free' with the cheapest ARGB Fans on Ebay, Amazon or AliExpress

03-07 was great. Remember all the different addons you could put in your 5.25 bays besides optical drives? All the high end gaming boards had a lot of visible copper heatpiping, graphics cards had cool art on their blower shrouds

Timmy Joe - What a great video! I really appreciate the thoughtful explanation that narrated this story on how you found this build, the history on who made it and your personal reflection. You always surprise me with your original content and, I feel, you are a stand out UA-camr. Keep up the great work!

I love his work. I recall in 2007 being underwhelmed with the mannequin build for the fact that it only had a Q6600 @ 3.1 (I was OC'ing client builds to 3.4-3.6 regularly) and an 8800 GTS (the 8800 Ultra was out when that build was featured and the 8800 GTX block from Danger Den fit fine). Also, I was getting into the clean aesthetic like what Murder Mods was doing. You should do a video on Charles Harwood (Murder Box/Mods)! He has some outstanding work archived on his website.

One thing to keep in mind with regards to pc mods is that its about the mod not the specs, most modders start modding hardware they already have they dont usually go out and get top tier stuff unless its sponsored or they are already wealthy.

Danger Den, what a throwback! I used their watercooling components to build my first open loop. An EVGA SR2 with 2x Xeons overclocked to a cool 5.1GHz at one point and 3 gtx 580. that thing, when playing crysis, was putting out more heat than a heather in winter! Really nice find, Timmy.

Q6600's were difficult to get over 3.0ghz so that fact that this is running at 3.1Ghz is actually impressive... for the time that is... You have to remember these were the very first quad core CPUs.

Just happened to scoop out a system sold by someone's ex-girlfriend with the core Q6600 and an Asus 8800 GT (1 gb variant). This thing used to be a decent battlestation of it's time and I find myself lucky I got that for only 60$.
I wish I would've had the chance to have enjoyed the pc community in the 2000s.

Great. Now I cannot get the Go Ninja song out of my head just as soon I saw....a female teenage turtle eating a pizza and then to hear Vanilla Ice that is not a vape flavor device. Or is it? That was a twist of fact that was Vanilla Ice and it making me old.

It is kind of sad that the art of customizing your own cables is going away. It's just so much cleaner and you get so much more satisfaction making your own cables cut to the perfect length and sewn tight than you get buying some cheap premade cable extensions and stuffing then leftovers behind your PSU. It's kinda funny, GN just did a review on Cooler Master's new open frame case and Steve was like, "there's nowhere to put excess cables". I commented that you should just make your own cables with no excess on a showcase build like that.
